When we arrived for check-in, the hotel looked empty, cause it was just in the beginning of the afternoon. once arrived later that day it was quite busy. Room was good and clean. Not too small. Only thing i run into is that its made for people smaller than 2 meters long. Location is good, easy to find.

Overall this hotel was good. Worth staying at for our family of 4 (2 very young kids). The first room they gave us was dirty (surely a mistake) but then immediately got into another room, nice and clean. It was quite small of a room but worked for our family. AC was great. Staff was very nice and friendly. Not a lot of parking spots available and that was a headache to deal with. Coffee machine in lobby tasted terrible unfortunately. Overall though we would stay here again. It was affordable, clean, and comfortable.

The experience was strained, but cordial. Front desk personnel are genuinely professional. Strongest recommendation is for the removal of existing carpet with a move towards engineered wood. This will alleviate the odiferous fragrance of stagnant water. Address the bird feces on room(roof ledges with sting to prevent accumulation and unwanted feathered visitors and this review encroaches on 5 star.

Tucked away on a side street. You’ll miss the driveway the first time. 3 night stay in Junior Suite. Staff was great. Very friendly and helpful. Also English speaking which was good for me :-) Room had open sitting/ bedroom area with separate bathroom inside suite. Room was a good size and very clean. Alcove from entry had open clothes closet and full length mirror. Hangers provided but no drawer storage. Comfortable room temperature only initial setting adjustment needed. Water pressure was great, in fact recommend turning on shower slowly! Hair dryer and some toiletries provided. Location of TV in room was inconvenient. Not for watching but for passing from sitting area to bed/ bathroom. There was not enough space without physical adjusting the TV each time or playing limbo to go by it. No iron in room. Front desk can provide but have to improvise ironing board. WiFi is only available in the lobby but cell signal was good in room so no issue for me. The view from my room was nice. A popular shopping/business area is a 5 minute walk and has numerous restaurants and coffee shops. I did not eat in the Japanese restaurant inside the hotel but chose to eat at St Marten’s in the business area. Delicious food! I understand the hotel at some point in history was a prison. There was literature available but only in German. The lobby desk and small café were “behind bars’” and there were pictures of the US Alcatraz prison with captions throughout. With the exception of the prison striped towels, my room did not look or feel like a prison cell but I was not looking for a prison experience. I would recommend and definitely stay again.

My first time in Germany was simply breathtaking. I spent 3 months on a work project and my reactions were WOW! The small town of Kaiserslautern was amazing. Plenty of shops and food and adult beverages of all kinds for everyone to enjoy. The hotel was cozy and very well kept. The staff was very friendly and always ready to assist. The manager, who I can't remember her name to save my life, was splendid! She made sure we all had our needs met. The breakfast was amazing. May I remind you, there are very limited rooms with a/c. But with the nice weather, there was no need for an a/c. I highly recommend Hotel Zollamt.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Barth! What a beautifully designed and quality hotel. We stayed inn a junior suite which had one and a half baths, a lovely walk-in rain shower, a microwave, mini fridge and lots of working space and a little table with chairs. The king bed was very comfortable and all the linens were of high quality. The bathrooms had beautiful stone floors which were not cold in the morning. The rooms were minimalist - lovely white with large windows and plenty of lighting. The breakfast room was large and also with beautiful design - gray with accents of lime green and deep lavender. The hotel offered a very ample and delicious continental breakfast with excellent coffee and friendly service. There was a bit of whimsy with stenciled figures on the walls in the dining area, a welcoming little man figure at the entrance and a fancy lady figure with her luggage sitting on the hotel steps. Very delightful place to stay. My only critique would be that the area rugs in our room looked ready to retire. Highly recommend this hotel. They offer parking in a gated area in the back, make sure to reserve ahead!

We had a German family dinner for 9 at this restaurant. 7 live in Kaiserslautern and we were visiting from the US. The individual who booked the reservation was very excited for the rest of us to have a wonderful experience. We were all extremely disappointed. The decor and ambiance were great - however, our food was not cooked properly and several entrees were sent back. One of the staff (she may have been the owner I think) was very sarcastic and rude. No one bothered to clear the table while we were thinking about desert. Again we were met with a negative rude attitude. We waited forever for one of our party’s Creme Brûlée desert, having to inquire several times, reminding our server. When he finally received it, it was served as simply a dish of vanilla pudding. We were told that was Creme Brûlée. We were shocked at how unprofessional the staff was and how disappointed we were with our meal. Obviously we will not be back.
