Meet at The Crossroads! The Crossroads Inn is located in Johnson City, Texas - the crossroads of Texas Wine and Hill Country. With more than 50 wineries within 30 miles of the inn, the Wine Trail starts in Johnson City and ends in Fredericksburg. Johnson City is President Lyndon Johnson's boyhood home and is a historic settlement. We invite you to stay at The Crossroads Inn and enjoy your wine purchases of the day on our beautiful porches or in our gardens with hundreds of birds and butterflies. Please note that due to the Covid-19 pandemic we are no longer serving breakfast.
I was a guest at The Crossroads Inn for 4 days. The room was welcoming, pristine, and quiet. I arrived from N.Y. tense and tired but the peaceful feeling of the place lured me outside. The aromas around the herb garden were intoxicating so I stretched out in a handy lawn chair and watched the little herd of goats in the nearby meadow play king-of-the-castle on a huge pile of boulders, but not for long; I fell asleep. When I was 10 years old, Mss Buckworth, the arithmetic teacher at my school started an Audubon Club. I joined and became an enthusiastic bird watcher. I am 85 now so, as you might imagine, my life list of birds is quite respectable but, sadly, it did not yet include the Painted Bunting. I chose The Crossroads Inn after I heard that not one but two pairs of these breathtaking birds had claimed nesting sights on the property and that 4 different types of Hummingbirds patronized the feeders outside the kitchen windows. Imagine my glee when I discovered that this was indeed true, mostly due to the fact that management, early on, made a conscious decision to leave certain portions of the land undisturbed. At any rate, the Buntings and the Hummingbirds seem to be in complete and enthusiastic accord with this plan and, I must say, I cast my vote with the Buntings. Thank you, The Crossroads Inn.

I’m here at the Hill Country Inn. Domestic disturbance just ended outside of my room. Water in tub will not drain, moved to another room - not much better. Low end work crews hanging around outside drinking, smoking / joking and doing whatever at 11:30P. Spend the extra $25.00 and get a nicer property. Not a place for your wife, kids and family.
