EXTREMLY POOR SERVICE
Reviewed By diubirdI've been staying in Marriott Jiaxing for some time now, and the service is REALLY POOR. Two examples: 1. I asked them for warm water when ordering room service and they flatly refused to offer this complimentary service 2. There was a broken piece of cookware in my Unagi Don, and all they offered was "Hey, we will waive off the cost of the dish" at first. Look at the size of the shard, it could have caused serious injury if I swallowed it.

Great hotel, but little things were overlooked.

Room was clean; however, my problem stems from the foul odor (very strong in bathroom and moderate in sleeping area). Also, there was a surprise found in toilet upon my arrival, I feel the latter could have been avoided by a 2nd walkthrough.

When we arrived outside the hotel, the exterior of the hotel looked like a motel and we were wondering what we got ourselves into. However, when we got into our room, we were greeted by an awesome room with clean sheets and there was nothing much else we could have asked for at this dirt cheap price! The staff were also polite and were always ready to help whenever we had questions! This hotel aptly demonstrates the phrase "do not judge a book by its cover".

The hotel restaurant was good as well as the morning buffet which had a good variety of food each morning. I would recommend this hotel for people that are staying in this area.

Calm, peace in the middle of everything.
Reviewed By Z ZThis is the second time I stayed at this establishment. It's in the back half of Yue He or "Moon River", a tourist attraction of a resident area with architecture of late Qing dynasty. The touristy part of Yue He is often busy with different crowd depending on the time of the day - teenagers, antique seekers, restaurant goers, and at night bars hoppees. The hotel is closed to the public by a couple of hotel key enabled doors. The place is clean with very modern interior decoration and convenience in the aged architecture settings. Breakfast buffet was with a lot of choices, although at times could be a bit too crowded if there's a big group started at the same time. Will definitely come back.

Reviewed By Julie LI had to stay in a hotel for a few weeks and so had to look for a not-so-pricely hotel. After testing out a few, I decided to make this hotel my temporary home. The room is of a good size. It is clean, the bed is very comfortable, the bathroom is modern with an auto washlet. Everyday there are 2 complimentary bottles of mineral water (can be more upon request), one can of regular Pepsi, one can of Pepsi light, fruit, as well as coffee and tea bags. There are a few Japanese restaurants, and other eateries within walking distance. There is a big supermarket - RT Mart nearby. The bus stop is right by the hotel, making traveling on public buses very convenient. Many buses end their day early, though. About 2 bus stops away is Yaohan, where there are more restaurants. Bus 3, 9 and 52 go to the Jiaxing Railway Station. Bus 97 (bus stop is near RT Mart) goes to the Jiaxing South Railway Station (high speed trains). Weakness is, not a fantastic variety of choices on TV. I had breakfast in the hotel one morning, I find the restaurant very small, but food is okay.

Nice Hotel about an hour away from Shanghai
Reviewed By Rick SVisiting a vendor in the Jiaxing area, I stayed here for 5 nights. The hotel is about 1 to 1.5 hours outside of Pudong Airport. It's a Chinese hotel which I mostly prefer when in China. The staff were all very nice and the room was clean, good size, nice bathroom and comfortable. The walls are somewhat thin however, I could hear a lot of.... ahum "activity" in the room next to me. The "non-smoking room" in China is a bit odd statement because while the room I had not a smoking room BECAUSE I don't smoke but the rooms next to me do! It's a consistent problem no matter which hotel you stay at in China, foreign or domestic, as infuriating as it is.....it's just what they do. The Western Restaurant was actually decent here as well. The breakfast was good and stocked well and included in my room rate. The dinner was a bit more expensive but again, that's what they ALL do. One of my favorite things is that they have a Foot Massage Spa area in the hotel. After a long walking day (and they always are) going there was amazing. Lastly, there is a few local area's like Mall's and some local cuisine you can visit within a mile or two away. Currently the area is under street construction and they start around 5:30 am. I would stay again when back in the area.

Good, but a bit timeworn hotel
Reviewed By Till22I stayed in the Leeden hotel for one week in a single room. The room itself was clean with two comfortable beds, a desk at which I could work quite well and a minibar. The bathroom was well cleaned, but the joints have seen better days. The only problem I encountered was the non-functioning air conditioning - it was rather a ventilation because the temperature setting did not have any effect. The breakfast was good with plenty of Chinese food and some toast, fried eggs, jelly and some cake for Western guests. The entrance hall and the overall impression are quite good, but most of the floors are already closed down and don't seem to be used any more. Therefore a lounge that I used a few years ago was not accessible. Next to the hotel are a few good restaurants and a mall, but the mall seems to be run down and most of the shops are already closed down.
