Secreto is a natural entertainment complex located in the Rosario Islands in the Colombian Caribbean. Built as a set of summer houses in Secreto you can choose from staying at shared dormitories or go for a private room if you're a bit shyer. We are a living art gallery in the Caribbean, we are the cultural wealth of an under-explored island, we are the exuberant beauty of the tropical rainforest, we are eco-conscious and we are a paradise within the paradise. STAY • EXPLORE • FEEL FREE
We stayed 3 nights at Secreto Hostel Isla Grande. Our overall experience: average hostel with terrible management. A few highlights: The rooms are old, especially the bathrooms where mirrors are “broken/not functional”. The reception works until 4 p.m.. If you have a problem after that time, no one really cares. We had to insist and wait for over one hour until a staff member, which was partying at the beach helped us in the evening. In addition, the hostel does not make any effort to organise tours (snorkling, yoga, mangrove and plankton). They always try to find excuses (broken boat / no guide / teacher got sick) why these activities are not offered. Another issue was that there was no water in the room and neither in the whole hostel the fist two morning (until 12pm). The biggest problem however was the loud music at the bar and the parties at the beach organised by the staff. We could not sleep until 2 a.m! The rosario islands are supposed to be a protected area (national park) which is definitely not respected by this hostel. If you would like to explore the island and the natural treasure in tranquillity and in a sustainable way then better look for another option.

Our Hamaquero is a hostel located at the southern end of Isla Grande, in front of the coral reef. Guests can sleep in different room types: double for couples with private bathroom, for friends, triple or family with shared bathroom. Our bathrooms are exterior and fresh. We get energy from solar panels, practice permaculture and waste management, and restore corals on the reef. Our space is created to fully enjoy nature, calm and share in natural ethnic tours. Guests can take part in the activities and excursions offered by the property, such as kayaking through the mangrove lagoons and hike through the dry forest. You can also enjoy at night swimming with the bioluminescence of the plankton in the Encantada lagoon, and of course snorkeling in the coral reef in front of the hotel. For this, we offer free equipment so that they can freely enter the coral reef, complying with the safety regulations in the water. The guides also offer you snorkeling points further afield on the north side of the island, where you can appreciate the barrier reef. We accept card with 5% surcharge
Felt in love with caribbean and snorkling here. Snorkling gear included in the room rate! The place offers offers top notch snorkling opportunities with a beatiful shore and a big coral reef very close by! ? The staff is very nice and helpful. Rooms are neat and comfy, we also had a balcony with an ocean view. Food is also OK (nothing special) and bar serves drinks.

Arte y Aventura is an excellent choice for travelers visiting Isla Grande, offering a budget friendly environment alongside many helpful amenities designed to enhance your stay. Arte y Aventura features a concierge and a sun terrace. In addition, as a valued Arte y Aventura guest, you can enjoy an on-site restaurant that is available on-site. During your visit, be sure to check out a popular Isla Grande seafood restaurants such as Eco Hotel Los Erizos, which is a short distance from Arte y Aventura. Enjoy your stay in Isla Grande!
We stayed here for a couple of days in a private bungalow, which is a quirky hut with a straw roof. The room itself was a perfect size, had a comfortable bed and a toilet and shower area. There is no running water so buckets of fresh and salt water are provided for showering and flushing the loo. This is fine, but it makes it a bit difficult to brush your teeth or wash your face etc as you don’t have enough hands to use the bucket at the same time. At the other side of the garden there is a separate toilet, outside of which is a sink with a bucket of water with a tap at the bottom; this would be perfect in the rooms and would make it much easier. Our only other suggestion would be mosquito nets above the beds. There are nets over the windows, but as they are straw roofed huts there are plenty of holes for mosquitos to enter and we got numerous bites overnight. The owners/staff are super friendly and helpful, and suggested which beaches to go to and where to eat. They also organised our boat transport for us which was great. We love that they are using solar energy while everyone else on the island seems to be using some huge noisy generators. There is a beautiful tiny beach just a few steps away from this place, which is so underrated- we could have spent all of our time there watching the sunsets and the boats go past! We would definitely stay here again!

My family and me booked this day trip to this beach, they offered private beach, chairs, welcoming coctel, drinks and food. When we arrived to the beach the small group they offer to be, turning in a full patch with a lot of people and not enough services to provide. This people not only didn’t delivery their promise but also was very rude and un polite. When we try to ask for what we paid they in repeat occasions tell us, that didn’t was their problem and also also said that we need to fix the problem ourselves. I do not recommend to anyone take the risk to go there, go somewhere else

Lizamar Island Hotel, Located At 45 Minutes From The City Of Cartagena. Is The Place Where The Pleasure And The Rest Are Combined To Give Your Guests A Premium Service. We Freshwater Swimming Pool, VIP Balcony, Spa, Slide With Out To Sea, Games, Recreation And The Best Traditional Food. We are Located In The Heart Of The Isla Del Rosario De Cartagena Colombia. IMPORTANT: BE GETTING A DOCK BODEGUITA 8:30 AM TO TAKE THE BOAT THAT PART Rumbo A Las ROSARIO ISLANDS.
We wanted transportation to Punta Arenas (about 15 minutes across the harbour from Cartagena). Outside the main ferry terminal we negotiated a price and were taken by taxi to a local launch port. We wanted transportation only - no guide, no tour, no restaurant. Our seller took us to the island but would not leave us alone. Wanted us to order lunch at 9:45 am, followed us to our selected beach area and literally sat 5 feet from us all day. Super creepy. Tried to get involved any time we got up or wanted to buy drinks. Constantly trying to get us to buy lunch. At 3p we wanted to leave and he suddenly jumped in the boat and started aggressively harassing us for more money. He was screaming at us demanding 50,000 pesos, then 25,000 pesos, like we were negotiating or something. There were about 15 other people in the boat starring at us, somewhat uncomfortable. After about 5 minutes of refusing to pay him he left. He said his name was Fernando.

The price is too high for what they offer you. Showers do not work and the breakfast is simple. It all looks very boring. The owner is a lovely lady, but the price is way too high when you compare it to other hostals.

The hotel is located in the Rosario Islands. Only 60 minutes from Cartagena de Indias (transfers on arrival and departure to and from Cartagena are provided by the hotel through hotel motor boat once a day and on pre-schedule time. Also you could rent a private boat or yatch for this service), the island's centennial trees, internal lagoons and Colombia's biggest reef system make this the ideal destination for an exciting yet relaxing vacation. All rooms are equipped with every comfort needed for a pleasant stay.
This Hotel in the the best Hotel we stayed at through out our whole stay in Colombia, we stayed in 5 different hotels touring several cities. The staff are unbelievably friendly, Evelyn and Leo at the Front office and Maria in HK. Wait staff were super nice and accommodating. Having a two years old daughter can make your dinner little bit challenging but they all were entertaining her and very soon Amina was a famous kid on the Island..LOL. I can't say enough about the Chef, her food was the best we had in Colombia. Not even one meal was mediocre, we had the Seafood for two, The shrimp and mushroom risotto, rice with seafood...Loved Loved my stay there and how nice the staff were. We spent three nights on the Island and that was the highlight of my two weeks that we spent in Colombia. Super highly recommend the Hotel if you are looking for a FIVE STARS experience with amazing food.

Our hotel is 100% ecological and in nature, managed by five local families of islanders. We produce electricity from solar panels. We offer fun activities for adults and children: snorkeling in the coral reef, luminiscent lake at night, tour of the lakes and mangrove by kayak, bird sanctuary, forest hikes, and visits to the local village. The island is also perfect for just relaxing with a good book on a hammock or on the beach.
We loved the whole experience! The location, the environment, the food, the people! An excellent place to rest and enjoy yourself. It is located only two minutes away from a beautiful beach! WE LOVED IT!!!

Alberto
