Convenient location and great breakfast
Reviewed By eastprimeStayed one night for sightseeing. Considering the fee, I think the room is larger than "Japanese" standard. The feature of this hotel is the breakfast buffet. You can enjoy Japanese breakfast menu, especially Men Taiko(chili cod egg) and Ikura(salmon's red caviare ) are great because both are very expensive.

Reviewed By bb162b石巻のイベントで駅前の宿が取りにくかったので、2kmほど離れたここを選びました。 寝に帰るだけにしては部屋も広めでゆっくり出来ました。 一番良かったのは大浴場があったこと。部屋から大浴場まで備え付けの作務衣で行って良いですよと言われ、観光ホテルみたいに結構リラックス出来ました。 旅行代理店経由で素泊まりで頼んだのですが、全ての宿泊者に無料の朝食バイキングがついていました。これは嬉しいサプライズでした。 Because it was difficult to take in front of the station at the Ishinomaki event, I chose here about 2 km away. The room was spacious just made for going back to sleep and I could relax. The best thing was that there was a public bath. It was said that it is okay to go from the room to the public bath with the work cloth installed, and it was quite relaxing like a sightseeing hotel. I ordered by a travel agency via a travel agency but all guests had a free breakfast buffet. This was a nice surprise.

Reviewed By 南国SUNyou may get to Hotel from Sendai station by bus easily and convenience. 1.location of bus station at Sendai Station(仙台), see an attaced picture. No.21 to Ishinomaki. 2. bus fare is JPY800, it takes for nearly one hour to "Ishinomaki Eon mall" and get off. 3. You may walk to Hotel about 600m from there. If you carry lagages, you may also go by taxi. enjoy your trip!

Fabulous excellent service, but mediocre rooms
Reviewed By lucy_from_sydney_1We stopped at Ishinomaki for one night so as to make our way to Tashirojima (a.k.a. cat-island) the next morning. Google maps showed that the hotel is only 4 minutes walk, however it was a little hard to find because I wasn't expecting Ishinomaki's "roads" to be so narrow. I would call them "lanes" rather than "roads" in Aussie terms. Once in the hotel the staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. Their English is absolutely fine to communicate with, and I can tell they try really hard to help in all possible ways. I swear one of the staff members had a little sweat drop dripping down his forehead while trying to answer our numerous questions. We were sent to the 4th level, welcomed by a strong gush of hot wind. It was in the middle of extremely cold winter, the hot wind was a huge contras to the outdoors. We walked into our room that is a little dated and of the size of a Tokyo room (i.e. tiny). To illustrate my point, I got a toilet without any automated bottom-cleaning system (which is rare in Japan hotels). The night's sleep was awful. Due to the size of the room, my sleepy husband can hear every move I make in the room and eventually forced me to go to bed. The bed is one of the hardest beds we've ever slept on, even harder than the tatami bed we had in Zao from the night before. The pillow were filled with beans, or sand, we aren't sure, our heads didn't really sink in. However, I would really love to thank the most helpful staff members who answered our many questions. They are very prepared, giving us photocopies of local bus and ferry time-tables. I would like to share my answers here with other trip-advisors users, all credit goes to the staff at Sun Plaza hotel who has given such useful information. If you wish to do some shopping in Ishinomaki, there isn't much around Ishinomaki station. Our hotel staff recommended going to AEON shopping center, which requires taking a bus from bus stop number 4 (270 yen one way, 15 mins bus ride on express bus that doesn't go past the hospital - buses going past hospital takes another 15 mins). AEON shopping center is massive, it is only 2 levels unlike the multi-level ones in Tokyo, has a vast choice of restaurants, a JUSCO supermarket which sells Japanese goods at reasonable prices, and lots more. Pity we didn't get to see it all as we have to catch the last bus back to the hotel. Whoever wishes to go to Tashirojima from Ishinomaki, the walk to the ferry terminal takes about 45 mins from this hotel, hence we took a cab for 830 yen one way, about 8 mins. Tashirojima is an absolute delight, but I will save that on a separate review if Tashirojima itself has a trip advisor entry.

Very comfortable place and friendly staff
Reviewed By John EWe found this place online and went for the low cost. The staff were very kind. The rooms in the neighboring Hotel M & K property were comfortable. There are free massage chairs and free bicycles (two ) to use. We just needed a place to spend the night, but if you are staying in the area for a few days, this is a nice place to stay. And if you like cats, they have for cats that you can visit on request although the cats were not particularly fond of people.

Reviewed By kurokoshou駅近で安い！ 一番の理由はそれですね。 特別感のある綺麗さを求める方には向いていませんが、 ただ寝るだけでしたらなんの問題もありません。 マンションの一室のような作りで部屋はとても広いし、 立派な冷蔵庫もあるので飲み歩きして、 最後にホテルで一杯なんてことも快適にできますよ。笑 ちかくに公営駐車場もいくつかありますし、 特に気になる点はありません。 また利用します＾＾

Good complete business low cost hotel, best breakfast, but walk to station was rather tiring.

The reception that remember my travel plan overnight to book taxi for me in advance in the morning, and can leave the baggage during my day trip to Tashirojima cat island, and especially the fresh breakfast that kind cooking aunt prepare in fresh bento right for each person. The breakfast is "exceed" my expectation for business low cost hotel, to enjoy "fresh", "warm" Japanese food with traditional complete simple set! The only downside here also the same as others. Distant that super far from train station (around 1 km), to think about carrying your luggage in the "dark" silent rural area (sunset around 5pm during winter) was not so good (but I do, why I have to pay taxi fee, lol) but with the location on busy main rod with many department store and delicious dinner restaurant (especially the opposite corner tonkatsu restaurant, near the hotel), I thought it was trade off for me.
