At the Hotel San Marcos time goes at a different pace and feel at home is natural. There are perfect atmosphere spaces for relaxing, resting, reading or simply breathing history and art. The hotel is a 18th century canarian mansion, which has been carefully restored. Located in the historic center of Icod de los Vinos in the north of Tenerife. 150M from the hotel is the Millenary Dargon Tree and the shopping and leisure area. Rooms with spectacular views of the mountain Teide, the sea horizon and banana plantions. Because of this priviliged environment the hotel offers landscape and island life experience in a real canarian atmosphere.
This hotel has a great deal to recommend it. It's in a delightful old building that has been lovingly looked after, with shining woodwork everywhere and generously proportioned bedrooms (as well as extensive public rooms). However, it would be wrong to suggest that it's all old-fashioned: the TV was hi-spec and the wifi functioned very well. The breakfast too was excellent, with great choice. All in all, it probably the best of the four places we stayed in during a recent visit to Tenerife. Highly recommended.

Drago Nest has excellent viewings from the terrace to the Teide Montain and to the sea. If you want to enjoy of the mountain you have routes by foot from the hostel. We promote the local gastronomy such as cheese, honey, marmalades, chocolate and the gofio (corn flour). It is in Icod de los vinos, a city in the middle of the mountain. So you have spectacular views.
Great place, stayed one night on the way to Puerto de la Cruz and was told that they had another there Puerto nest so repeated. Drago next is good for visiting Teide and hiking. Nice roof tops in both. Great staff and atmosphere.

Dirty, filthy room, pubic hair in bed and bidet. Long hair in bed, short hair by the sink. Dated, tired looking furniture, right next to busy road. The whole place needs to be refurbished or a DEEP CLEAN at best. I arrived at 8.30pm and was greeted by a child, why..? Realized it was too late to to find another hotel, contacted Teletext to say that I couldn't stay another night in that hotel for the above reasons. Found a fantastic hotel. Meanwhile, 2 months after my trip, I am arguing the toss with Teletext to get a full refund for the nights I did not stay because (unknown to me) if you stay one night you are liable for all of the nights - bloody disgusting policy..!! If I'd have know that before paying I would not have booked with them. Only a hotel which does not have confidence in their product would have such a policy and I am aghast as to why a brand like Teletext would allow providers to implement this policy. The hotel have offered just under 1/2 the cash but I want it all either from the hotel or Teletext. I will get a full refund and make a formal complaint too, to the regulator if necessary.

We booked this property as we were invited to a friends wedding in the local area. We stayed less than 12 hours. There is a stench of damp and sewage in the kitchen area of apartment 1. It is so overpowering and there is no way you would prepare & cook meals there. The bed was hard and inadequate. It's like sleeping on a camp bed with 1 flat pillow and 1 thin quilt. The property itself is on a very steep hill and it's a 20 minute walk into the town centre. It is a 4 km walk to the nearest beach which is quant but nice with 1 resturant. It states free parking but you could find yourself parking quite away from the property. It also states free WiFi but there is signal issues. Garden furniture in the lounge area is uncomfortable and cheap. The whole place needs a revamp. We booked into a hotel near by as was just not prepared to stay there a minute longer. Be prepared if you have limited mobility you will find this property inaccessible. Local people are wonderful. They are warm & welcoming it's just a shame the property is so disappointing. No cleaning service & towels changed every 5 days. Make sure you do your research and read the small print before booking this property. It's not for the faint hearted!

The Hotel Emblemático San Agustín has only eight rooms, all of them individually decorated, but with a clear common factor: prioritize the guests’ rest for them to relax. For this purpose, highest quality elements have been used, with fine cotton linens and a varied pillow menu for the guests to be able to personalize their experience at the Hotel. The Hotel has been restored respecting the traditional island architecture, being six of the rooms configured around a patio with clear Canarian style elements. The remaining two rooms have windows facing the main building’s façade, overlooking one of the main commercial streets of the town. In the Hotel’s patio is a pleasant cafeteria in which the breakfasts are served and, during the rest of the day, it is possible to have a light snack or enjoy a natural shake or a fruit juice. All the guests are welcomed with a drink. Everything is focused for the guests to feel just like at home.
We chose the hotel as we love historic properties and we were not disappointed. The property has been beautifully renovated and restored and the owners have kept a pictorial record of the renovation for guests to see. Well placed for the bus station and for the historic quarter of the town the hotel is in effect a boutique hotel. The room we had was comfortable, spotless and we also had the benefit of a private terrace. The rooms overlook an open courtyard where breakfast is taken but if the weather is not great there are inside rooms. The hotel does not have staff permanently on site but Estafania or her mother (the owners) are always available and Estafania is present every morning for breakfast. In our current times there is not a buffet and everything on the menu is ordered and there is a great choice of hot and cold food and beverages. Also tea/coffee/wine cakes and fruit are available 24/7 free of charge. The communal areas are very comfortable. Estafania is very helpful, friendly, and positive. Nothing was to much trouble. We used the hotel as a base to visit the west of the island and staying at the hotel really added to the joy of our trip. We would stay again without any hesitation.
