We stayed for a week at Lindergata 11, and were so happy we did. While ideally central to absolutely EVERYTHING, still a nice couple of blocks removed from the weekend nightlife noise. Compact, quiet, comfortable and modern with a nice bay view. Comfy bed and nice shower. We opted for breakfast included which was verrrry generous with coffees and juice, fruit and cheeses, cereal and milk, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, warm fresh bread and on an on. Seriously only lovely, helpful, caring and warm people work there. They immediately helped us out with a couple of difficulties we had and really saved us! They could use more places to hang clothes but that’s our only constructive criticism. When we return we can’t wait to stay there again! Home away from home.

Stayed here in May. Nice hotel, the staff are really nice and helpful. The breakfast was very good. Good location as bus stop 9 for tours 30 seconds away and 20 min walk into the center. The only negatives were there not being any storage for clothes such as a wardrobe in our room and there was a strange intermittent mechanical noise in the bathroom, but only happened during the day so didn't bother us really! Would stay again.

This hotel is very conveniently located near the restaurants and activities. We stayed in the standard room and found it big enough for two people. We had been confirmed for an upgrade but did not get it on check in. The staff here are exceptional. They were friendly, knowledgeable and were a big help both before we arrived and while there and answered a wide variety of questions. The breakfast was extensive and good. The rooms tended to be warm and opening windows could be a challenge.

Hotel Reykjavík Centrum is located in the bustling city center within walking distance of some of Iceland's best museums, restaurants and bars. The hotel opened in 2005 and is stands in one of Reykjavik's oldest streets, Aðalstræti. The hotel has undergone extensive renovations while maintaining its original charm as the oldest parts of the building were built in 1764. The hotel spreads over three buildings and during its construction, the remains of a Viking longhouse from the Settlement Period were found. Among the finds excavated at the site were Iceland’s oldest human remains, dating from approximately 870 AD. The hotel has 89 rooms, each fitted with modern amenities, such as satellite TV, telephone, Internet access, mini-bar, radio, iron and board, hair dryer, safe and tea & coffee set. All rooms have en-suite bathroom with either a shower or a bath.
We checked in on May 26th in the afternoon. The room was located on the sunny side of the hotel and with the curtains open the temperature had to easily be in the mid-80's. We drew the curtain and opened the window a few inches, even though on the first floor, then left to explore the city. On returning in the evening the room was still unbearably hot. Around midnight I attempted to call the front desk to see if I was overlooking a thermostat. there was no pick-up of the call so I went to the front desk and informed that the rooms were not air-conditioned. I was given a plastic electric fan, which was useless as well as rattling. The noise with people and cars moving by the room made the experience feel unsafe as well as hot. So we were glad to be out of the room in the morning. Horrible experience.
