A favorite getaway for Bangkok residents, Hua Hin is a pretty beachside town. Family friendly and relaxed, it lacks the all-night partying and seedier aspects that make other nearby beach resorts a haven for unsavory characters. Once a small fishing village, it was transformed into a royal resort, and it’s these close links with Thai royalty that ensure Hua Hin won’t become overdeveloped or lose its small-town vibe.

Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin first opened its doors in the early 1920s at a time when Hua Hin was still a sleepy coastal village. This beachfront resort was built along the classic lines of that era, with phenomenal gardens and spacious rooms and suites (up to 170 sqm.) with high ceilings, polished hardwood flooring, period furniture, and Thai silk. The 42 villas offer privacy, space (up to 120 sqm.) and a terrace with Jacuzzi or plunge pool. The resort has plenty of leisure options for adults and children: 4 swimming pools and children’s pools, a spa, a fitness centre, 2 tennis courts, Muay Thai and Tai Chi classes, and 2 kids clubs. Plus, the town is outside our door, and some of the best golf courses in Thailand are within easy travelling distance. The dining venues include a colonial style café, an all-day dining restaurant, a Japanese restaurant, a Thai restaurant, and the modern COAST Beach Club & Bistro. The resort is a natural for dream wedding celebrations.
Excellent hotel, excellent staff, to Jan and all his staff what a helpful, warm and friendly environment and who always go out of their way to make things totally wonderful and the stay special. This is our eighth stay at the fabulous Centara and we will be back in September 2022. See you then!

We stayed at the Anantara Hua Hin for ten nights as a family of four we had two deluxe garden view rooms which we’re both kept immaculate by the housekeeping department. Very comfortable bed, good size room and nice bathroom. We had a meal at the Italian restaurant one night which was amazing and had a couple of meals at the beach restaurant again excellent with very big portions both very reasonable prices for what you get. Breakfast was served at the Issara cafe and the choice of food was excellent. All of the breakfast staff were lovely very helpful friendly and worked hard. Special thanks to Nok who looked after us at the pool bar alongside Gift and Ken they really made the afternoon drinks well at happy hour. Great swimming pool with plenty of sun lounges and shaded areas. The hotel is set in lovely tropical gardens with lots of Thai culture. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel and would definitely go back, all of the staff are a huge attribute to the hotel. Many thanks for a great holiday

We arrived a bit early (midday after a 16 hr flight) on a Wednesday and asked if it was possible to check in but was told the room wasn’t ready due to the hotel having been very busy over the weekend. We were then told we’d have to wait approx 1hr45 mins. We realise that even though we are Hilton Honour members, we weren’t entitled to check in early, but it would have been nice to have been offered a nice cold welcome drink. The room we were allocated was large, clean and on a high floor with gorgeous views. We noticed that the bathroom only had 1 of each time of basic toiletries, despite there being 2 of us. Had to request more. Next morning found only 1 tea bag - really!! That morning we had to make 2 requests and wait 5 hours for our room to be cleaned. The location of the hotel is fantastic - on the beach and approx 8 mins walk to Hua Hin night market. Directions are simple - come out of hotel and go towards the road opposite (massage parlour and hotel either side), you have to go past girlie bars, through the Buddhist temple, towards clock tower and take left fork. Walk 2 mins and you’re there. Pool at hotel was lovely as was Tu, one of the attendants. Plenty of seating and towels and clean pool. Breakfast in the morning was disappointing - quality and quantity. Fruits were hard and tasteless - come on guys you’re in Thailand. Choice of main courses often ran out and kitchen staff did not top up - we had to ask and then wait. Serving staff were good and Tum was lovely. We found that the majority of the staff, although greeted you, the interaction stopped there. The concierge staff never once asked if we needed a taxi etc. A lot of the staff seemed uninterested - even on checking out after 7 days, the lady never asked where our destination was, had we had a nice time etc. From 3 previous visit to Thailand, we know Thai people are warm, gregarious people, but unfortunately not here. Luckily the staff at our next hotel were friendly, warm people. The beach bars have opened up, but not on a Wednesday. As it was early days, they usually shut shop by 4pm.

Tranquil water laps onto the powdery white sands in an original and exquisite setting! A true beachfront property and right in the centre of Hua Hin only a minutes walk to restaurants, bars, night markets, shopping centres as well as nightlife at Laksasubha Hua Hin guest villas share the same grounds and green and quite tropical gardens with the owner's original family home creating a special cozy environment. The decor reflects the traditional lifestyle influenced by the Thai nobility. First-class services and facilities are designed to accommodate families, couples and single travellers of all age and nationalities who seek the comforts of a private boutique resort filled with activities for each taste. A home away from home... M.L. Laksasubha Kridakon, the resort founder, is the great grand daughter of HRH Prince Krisda Bhiniharn Krom Phra Naresra Varariddhi. The Prince was the first member of the Thai royal family who built his palace here in Hua Hin as his ‘summer home’ for his family members.
Last week, we stayed in the Tamarind Bathtub Room. We requested a non-smoking room with a large bed, and we received both. My wife and I simply parked next to their lobby office, and because we were the first to arrive, we did not leave our car key. Using their shuttle service, we were escorted near our room. I liked the design of our room, I think my wife also liked it; the bathtub is right behind our bed, and there is a balcony. After a while, we went to the BBQ party and Happy Hour in the afternoon and ordered tons of good food and drinks, and we liked our spot by the beachfront, where we sat in front of the beach. The staff who took our order at the restaurant was very friendly and very accommodating. There were just few things that kinda bothered us: 1) one staff member liked to hang up the phone when I tried to confirm our reservation in a call, and another situation during our stay at the front when I called the front office, 2) we parked inside this parking space and there was a car behind us, the staff was supposed to move it but we were asked to drive it instead and we politely declined, soon they called the owner of the car who were doing merits. We felt bad for going out at that hour, but we had to, 3) it was noisy in our room during nighttime I woke up twice just to hear squeaking noise or water pumping from the adjacent room that I couldn't really explain - but the food, drinks and service were awesome so that didn't really matter - I just went back to sleep. We also had room service which my wife and I appreciated, and next morning we just hung out by the pool, my wife read a book and I enjoyed watching the views. The overall experience was very good.

Hua Hin has been a beloved beach getaway for over a hundred years, dating back to the construction of the railroad connecting the bustling metropolis of Bangkok with this dreamy seaside town. By the mid-1920s, it became the chosen holiday retreat for Thai nobility drawn to the undiscovered pristine coastline. Over time, this sleepy fishing village has transformed into a popular coastal destination while maintaining its old world charm and natural beauty. This beach town has been even further awakened with the arrival of The Standard, Hua Hin. A nod to the hotel’s first waterfront resort in Miami. The hotel is nestled in a lush garden dreamscape with native flora and greenery, just steps from the Gulf of Thailand. A colorful collection of 199 rooms, suites and villas is complemented by an innovative spa program seamlessly paired with a lively and vibrant pool scene, and a variety of drinking and dining options to suit every taste. There’s the Lido restaurant and bar for all-day indoor or al fresco dining, elixirs and fresh pressed juices at The Juice Café, and the impeccably restored Heritage House, Praça, for authentic Thai food and craft cocktails in an unparalleled setting.
The standard check-in time at this property is 15:00. To compensate, the check out time is 13:00. Arrived earlier than the standard check-in time and was warmly greeted by Khun Milky. She had a cheerful disposition and tried her best to accommodate my request for an earlier check in. Very helpful and nice of her. The property is made up of two sections, on a longish rectangular plot of land. From lobby to the beach is about a 300 metres walk. After the reception/lobby area, we will first walk past 2 buildings surrounding an inner courtyard garden. These 2 buildings houses the "standard" hotel rooms. Further down the path, you'll come to the villa zone where the villas are clustered into several smaller "gated communities". So there are several villas in each gated zone sharing some common facilities such as picnic tables, sand pits, bbq area etc. The final stretch is made up of the hotel's beach-fronting dining venues and main swimming pool. We stayed at one of the villas. As the property only opened in Dec 2021, everything is shiny and new, clean and comfortable. Had a very good night's sleep.
