This was the first time I went for a business trip to Hitachi and I booked a stay in Wing International Hotel Hitachi. The location was really impressive as it was located in close proximity to the bus station and railway station. The staff were very helpful but with a disadvantage that they were not so conversant in English. Hotel was extremely neat and clean. The breakfast was also very good but being an Indian not having knowledge about Japanese food was having a trying time. Hotel could thing of putting English names along with Japanese for benefit of those who cannot read the local language. The hotel was a very good free wifi. Very close to Supermarket. If an Indian visit the place he can be at a comfort because the hotel is very near to a restaurant which serves Indian cuisine run by Nepalese.

Directly outside the station, a very clean mid range business hotel. Staff very friendly and looked immaculate in their uniforms. My room was an adequate size for a stay of a few days. Wi-Fi code is individual to each room, code is acquired by looking at the home' screen on the TV set. Electrics are operated by inserting the key fob into the illuminated slot by the room door. Breakfast was a simple buffet in an area off main reception. Simple Japanese style food, with no concessions to western options.

Visiting Hitachi on business and staying here. The staff are extremely friendly but have limited English. The restaurant is only open for breakfast and it is fine Japanese fare. The rooms are very small as in most Japanese hotel and there is no wardrobe so you have to store your clothes in your suitcase which in my case just about fits into my room. For what I need it for (somewhere to sleep at night it is fine.

Normal Hotel with a Japanese Morning buffet which is very good also for European people. They have no laundry service so you have to wash by yourself. The rooms are little bit old but clean. It's ok to stay here during a business trip.

One of the reasons for choosing to stay in a ryokan, in my mind at least, is the sense of hospitality you get - the made you're made to feel welcomed and taken care of during your stay. At Hagiya, by comparison, it felt pretty much like everyone was going through the motions at best. It started with being shown to our room by someone who seemed generally annoyed with her job, and who would much rather we weren't there to disturb her. The rest of the staff were better, but - either as a lingering result of this first impression - or because of the service itself - generally did not give the impression that they were particularly guest- or service-oriented. More like they were going through the motions, and ensuring the minimum acceptable level of service was delivered. Food was fine - again nothing special or that made us think "wow", but all done quite competently. Baths are nice, and the room was good. Overall, though, we went away feeling disappointed, and with a consensus that we wouldn't really choose to come back here.

We stayed here only for one night and it was a pity not to stay there for another night. But, my husband needed internet for work reasons and there was only Wifi at the recepction. We booked a Japanese style room and it was ok. We could drink the minibar for free. They write down the time you want the breakfast and they have it ready for you. It was a plate with different dishes. You can choose of 6 different ones, including an west style too.
