Gazing over the English Channel, Hastings mixes black-tarred fishing huts with pebbly shores, Victorian architecture, and artsy shops that together draw boho travelers and families in search of seaside vacations. With a maritime museum, castle ruins, and a notable battle site, it’s also rich in history.

Lovely hotel and location. However service wasn't great and breakfast service was terrible. There was a wedding the night we stayed, so the restaurant only has us and one other couple - dinner good food but zero atmosphere. Breakfast service was appalling - again only 2 tables occupied but we were made to feel we were an inconvenience. I'm vegan and despite confirming this in booking and subsequent emails, nothing was marked as vegan on the breakfast service and if I wanted to order a vegan breakfast it was anotehr £5 supplement! We booked via Booking.com £240 for one night, then to find we had to pay £20 supplement each, to use the spa! Which was basically just a swimming pool and no actual treatments were available. Being that this is just a regular Bannatynes gym/spa, it doesn't feel at all special and you would be better off going to Champneys for a more specialist luxury spa experience

Affordable Stylish Guest House located in the centre of Hastings offering a choice of rooms or apartments. Just minutes for the beach, train station, restaurants and shops Number 46 is one of the best places to stay in Hastings.
We had a most pleasurable stay here 8th-9th June. Apart from ticking all the boxes, very clean, favourable location with close proximity to the beach and the shops/Old town, the breakfast was excellent.I had the full English and my wife the Vegetarian which I could easily have had myself. The staff went the extra mile on disclosure of my wife's birthday during breakfast and they promptly lit a few candles followed by a chorus of Happy birthday which really made her day.We had a lovely spacious room over looking the garden and the whole place has a tasteful and tranquil decor. Will deinitely going back.

My son and me were cycling from Herne Bay to Lands End. On day 2 we went from Folkestone to St Leonards. This place was old school in a good way. The reception was welcoming and I loved the room. They had a back room where we could lock the bikes. In some hotels these days you are hermetically sealed in. Here there was a little bay with sash windows. We kept them open and fell asleep to the sound of the sea!! Magic.

Hastings House a gorgeous seaside Boutique Hotel it is a beautifully designed Bed & Breakfast … one thing is for certain … it is truly an unexpected pocket of style and "5 star" luxury with a character all of its own that guarantees a completely relaxed and indulgently comfortable stay in St. Leonards-on-Sea.
After our initial booking elsewhere fell through at the last minute, we had to search quickly for an alternative venue and stumbled across Hastings House. We could not have been more fortunate. Ian and Beverly were incredible hosts and everything hit the spot - from the food and service, to the quality of the rooms. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a high-quality B&B in Hastings - and would like to thank Ian and Beverly for everything they did at such short notice

We live in a fully restored late Victorian family house, and delight in welcoming guests to the period atmosphere we have created. We pride ourselves on a meticulous attention to detail, and have tried to recreate the style of living of the 1880s. You will find this a very distinctive and characterful place to stay.
Stay here for a Victorian experience. Walking into this house is like stepping back in time. The house has been reinstated to its 19th century splendour in every minute detail. The sheer amount of Victoriana and Edwardiana is mesmerising. Great breakfast served in period perfect breakfast room.

The Lansdowne is a family run 4**** Guest Accommodation located on the Hastings sea front within a short walking distance to the historic old town and town centre. The Lansdowne is an ideal starting point for both leisure and business travellers. All 28 rooms are non-smoking and en-suite with bath/shower, hair dryer, telephone, free view TV and free WiFi in every room.
If you want to be woken at 5am by a bin van emptying bins at the back of the hotel, this is the place for you. A succession of other large vehicles reversed down the road in the early hours on both mornings of our stay. I understand the hotel can't help this but the price of the room could reflect the overall discomfort. Or they could get decent double glazing. The shower room was a joke as it was so narrow the toilet had to be set at an angle. I couldn't face a proper shower in the grim curtained off area at the dark end of the corridor that served as a shower room. I love Hastings so will definitely be going back again soon but will never stay in the Lansdowne again. There are many places to stay, don't make the mistake of staying here.

Black Rock House B&B Hastings is a beautifully restored Victorian villa with sea views centrally located within a few minutes of the beach, town centre, and Hastings Old Town.
Just came home from 4 days at Black Rock House. The owner(Vincent) is a world class host, a true English/Belgian gentleman with a great humor that want his guests to have the best treat. A rare and fantastic surprise. Don't miss this place if going to Sussex, it's a must like Sissinghurst and Parham.

Alexander's is a ten-minute walk from Hastings Railway Station, local attractions including the White Rock Theatre and Underwater World, Hastings Castle, Hastings Pier, West Hill Lift, shops and the historic Old Town area can be reached with a short wander along the seafront. -
Nice enough guest house, in a very good location. However, we had a side room, overlooking the road. Main issue was the 67 steps up to the room! We weren't asked if we had any disabilities, and as an asthmatic, I had to keep sitting down on the chairs provided on each landing. The shower was very weak, no real pressure, and the towels were very thin and see-through. Parking is in an underground car park opposite the hotel, which is locked overnight.
