I am surprised when I stepped in to the hotel and my room. I was like wow, it is like a 4 star hotel in a large international cities. The room is super clean, the AC is really strong, hot water ! Great ! The food at the restaurant was great but slightly pricey from local standard ! The wifi was a bit unstable, it was on and off, on and off. But still able to do the basic ! Also also, the bed was really comfortable! I had a great night sleep there! Strongly recommend !

Clean, spacious rooms with AC; regular breakfast. However a inefficient, indifferent, helpless, almost hostile receptionist(s) where, by contract with the travel agente, they had to organize our transfer(s) in Bissau. They where more interested on the tv program then in the customers needs. The home driver was the helpful one. The same panorama returning to the hotel from the islands. And because it was the 1st January every body was out except the guard in the front door and the helpless receptionist. Customers had to go out for food and drinks and return to the hotel. As a doctor I spent many Christmas and New Eve working dreaming to be outside with family and friends. But I never missed my duties with the patients. "Serviços mínimos" does it mean something to you? Definitely this historic hotel deserves a better management.

The Executive Room is spacious and the hotel is quiet. Not conveniently located, though. The management of this hotel needs to understand the need for regular maintenance of all equipment, facilities and common areas. They charge European prices but offer African service. I must say that staff were exceptionally nice. Great to have free airport shuttle provided, however, their email address does not work (they know it but don’t seem concerned about it), so you will never get a confirmation about your reservation made on their website or about the airport pick up. VERY poor internet, which means that sometimes it was impossible to work, send or receive emails. This is unacceptable. Bathroom: - Tissue box in bathroom empty and continued empty for the entirety of the 2 weeks’ stay - Shower head blocked – it was unblocked after complaint - Dark bathroom, especially shower room. Mirror light doesn’t work. Feels dirty, although it might not be. - Broken bin lid, and remained broken. - One soap/shampoo given at the beginning of my stay, now finished but never replenished. After day 8, I asked and got some more. - Terrible and slimy shower curtain Facilities: - Very poor internet - Gym closed – two terrible machines available outdoors. Awful. - Pool dirty – cannot be used for obvious hygiene reasons, even though when I tried there were loads and loads of locals (not guests) playing loud music and making it most uninviting. - Very poor maintenance overall. Breakfast: - Very poor, few choices, slow service Staff: - Very friendly, incredibly nice Living room: - Fridge cupboard door doesn’t close - Broken chair – never fixed despite complaint - Bad lighting – dark - TV cables hanging down, no remote control, so not possible to use TV Bedroom - Safe didn’t work – fixed after complaint - Wardrobe – wobbly sliding doors - 2 plastic hungers - TV too small to watch. Only 1 channel works. - Uncomfortable pillows - Stained sheets, but comfortable bed. Water - No complimentary water provided

The Orango Parque Hotel is located in the islands of the Orango National Park. Is surrounded by an extensive beach of fine white sand and by an immense tropical forest, which makes it completely integrated into the landscape. The Hotel has 10 double rooms and a main building where we can find the reception, the bar and the restaurant. Our cuisine is international and has a Portuguese influence and a touch of African cuisine. We like to work with local products, such as fresh fish or shell seafood that are extracted directly from the beach. We also have an ethnographic museum that holds the country's largest collection of Bijago art. There is a local craft shop too, where you can find authentic local artisan pieces. All rooms have a full bathroom inside and single beds all provided with a mosquito net. We are an ecological establishment that is committed to clean energy. We have solar panels that cover 100% of the energy demanded by the hotel. The reduced capacity of our hotel always offers an exclusive and personalized service. We are managed by the Associaçao Guiné Bissau Orango, a Spanish non-profit organization that participates in an ecotourism development project in the National Parks of Guinea Bissau. Our profits are reverted into development cooperation microprojects that directly benefit the local population of the Orango National Park, mainly in the areas of health, education as well as the preservation of biodiversity and the Bijago culture.
This is the 2nd visit to this island. It is a wonderful unspoilt paradise of an island. The staff are very friendly & we chatted with them as we'd known them as friends for a long time. Meals were excellent & service couldn't be faulte, they can't do enough for you. Staying in the new roo s by the beach was a bonus as having a warm shower after a days fishing is just what you need. Apart from having a good fishing holiday with a couple of friends the place is a great place to relax & take time out from the daily rush back in the U.K. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

This place is amazing, it is a tiny island with so many sophisticated details like hammocks, yoga place, water bucket in front of the room to get the sand off before entering, light with movement sensor on the bungalows so one does not walk in complete dark, indeed a small paradise! The food was amazing too, they even catered for vegetarians with some proper vegetarian dishes:-). But most importantly the hosts are amazing and were incredibly kind to me when I had to return the morning after arrival due to a family emergency, they got me a private (bumpy, but safe:-)) boatride without extra charge so I made the flight in time, thank you so much again Sonia and Laurent, we will back!!

We stayed here for 8 nights as part of a fishing package. The hotel is extremely tranquil yet provides all the facilities you'd expect - even though its on an island 60 kilometres offshore, where most residents don't have access to electricity and running water. The hotel has its own generator which provides more than enough electricity to allow for much needed air-conditioning in the rooms at night and a desalination plant so there's plenty of fresh water. The rooms are extremely pleasant with full ensuite facilities. They are extremely clean and very comfortable. The food is really excellent - wonderful fresh fish most evenings - caught by the anglers staying at the lodge. Excellent staff and a wonderful host - Gilles. The fishing guides are exteremly knowlegable and really helpful. Highly recommended if you're looking to escape the rat race for a few days!

Our lodge is located in Bubaque in the heart of the Bijagos archipelago opposite the capital Bissau. Classified by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve in 1996, the archipelago offers exceptional biodiversity and an unforgettable experience for those who want to rediscover the feeling of true discovery within an atypical setting.
We arrived in Bubaque for 4 days and we stayed in this megally friendly hotel that I highly recommend. The rooms were cleaned. We had a warming welcoming thanks to Cisse and Dingo ;-) they were always here to help us. In the evening the hotel turns to an amazing local ambiance with all the bubaque village joining for a drink and diner. The food was delicious and I recommand the “toto cocktail” (it s a secret receipt made by the bar tender). You will love this place

The rooms may need a bit of a brush up, but the nice setting, friendly Gloria and the excellent food are the reason to go. Great location from where to explore the island. Good value for money. Can only recommend it.

I stayed here for two nights and enjoyed the stay. It's very basic but scenic also. I ate here one night and the food was good, they also have decent beer. It's a 10 minute walk to the beach which is pretty amazing. Don't expect the ritz here and you won't be disappointed.

I didn't stay overnight bit did check the rooms. They looked typical of a reasonable Bissau location. Clean. Fan, shower, toilet, bed, some extra space in the rooms. Restaurant was pleasant. Oysters are good. As with many places in Guinea-bissau, food is comaratively expensive. Had to pay extra to use the pool. It was clean but we didn't use. Grounds are pleasant and shady.
