I enjoyed the hostel and staff and the surrounding area was gorgeous and a good place to walk and hike during the day. It's a long walk from town... Almost 2 miles. The main problem was that they don't let you in from about 11:00 to 4:00 so they can clean. If it's raining or cold or just tired after hiking, you can't come in! Without a car, you can only go to the restaurant a half mile away and hang out for several hours. It's a deal breaker for me. I would not stay there again for that reason alone.

Glencoe House

Glencoe House offers 5-star luxury suite accommodation in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. The hotel comprises fourteen generous private suites (from 75-148 sq. metres) and contains two distinctive concepts. Firstly, The Glencoe House Suites that are located in the mansion house and have a wealth of period features together with sea or mountain views. Secondly, The Bell Tower Suites which are located 50m from the mansion and are more modern in look and feel and garden views; all have private walled gardens with hot tubs. Regardless of your choice, Glencoe House offers elegant but relaxed and sumptuous suites, with the space and privacy to really kick your shoes off and unwind.

Totally perfect!

We have just spent 6 nights in Strathcona suite 13 and what a wonderful experience it was! The setting and ambience is staggering. Nothing has been overlooked - the whole lodge was as comfortable as being at home, excellently equipped; generous breakfast items supplied free of charge and wines, spirits and soft drinks etc all available at reasonable cost. Lovely big downstairs bathroom with a double shower and organic toiletries. The upstairs bedroom area is light and airy with a huge bed. The outdoor hot tub is a smashing addition and the privacy of the layout allowed one to thoroughly relax and soak up the atmosphere as well as the bubbles. I cannot recommend this wonderful place highly enough. Thank you to Richard, Bertie and James for making our stay so memorable. And excellent value.....

Our kids loved it!

We stayed one night on our road trip. Our room was quite small but spotless and our daughters shared a twin which was bigger than ours and a better layout. The staff were lovely and really gave a personal service. The real highlight was the hot tub and sauna at the back! A big hit with our kids. Plus the pizza in the restaurant went down well too. I would definitely return. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because it was quite expensive. But overall a great choice in Glencoe!

The Finest B&B

Having stayed in many B&Bs over the years in Scotland, Dawn and Laurence’s home is streets ahead. It offers the comforts of a top hotel but with the personal touch. Thanks to Laurence for the Breakfasts which were plentiful with delicious options that keep us going all day. Lovely touches in the room that include fresh milk and toiletries fromThe Highland soap company. Dawn is meticulous and ensured that the stay was comfortable and offered good advice on trips and restaurants. Nothing is too much trouble. It’s a peaceful location within walking distance of the village and the idyllic Lochan Trail. Also a bit further along from the Infamous Clachaig for bar meals and music. We cycled in Lismore, walked a hill in Glencoe and visited the stunning beaches of Morar and Arisaig village. But after all that activity, we slept well in the comfort of Strath Lodge. We will return ?

Beachwood cottage is our absolute nr 1 in b and b’s. We visited a lot of them but never met people who are so lovely as Ian and Jackie. Not only are the rooms great, the beds lovely and the shower wonderful The breakfast lasts you for the whole day. But first and most of all are the great hosts. Nothing is to much for them and they make you feel so very at home. We are leaving for the next spot in Schotland but we are sad te leave them. This place is a diamond. If you have the chance to stay here I really advise you to do so. Peter and Tanja
