Well managed family owned hotel with total leisure ambiance
Reviewed By Pieter HWe stood with 4 adults (2 + 2) a mid-week at the Seehotel. We had Half-Pension arrangement. Only good things to mention. The hotel has a very pleasant ambiance, which is well protected by the two generations of the family Kelke (father, mother, son, daughter) but also by their very motivated and committed staff. The sauna/relax area is separated from the swimming pool / Dampfbad area. Both domains are well established with many chaise longues and other relax furniture. The dinner (4 dishes menu - main to be chosen in advance) and the breakfast buffet are of very good quality and well maintained. Gerolstein is not far away and at walking distance (city centre at 1,5 km), with very good train connection to the ancient city of Trier. Around the hotel many good hiking opportunities. The internet is good. We could watch Champions League. Nice space also available to have a drink in the the evening or a Kaffee/Kuchen in the afternoon. Last but not least I want to mention the beautiful stair house from the fifties. Room 58 was an excellent room at the end of the corridor. We got a lot of value for the money paid.

Maria Meyer (Gastgeberin) and her staff all went out of their way to ensure that we enjoyed ourselves and had a splendid time! Meals were execellent, with vegetarian and gluten intolerant diners superby catered for. The food was always fresh and of a high quality. The rooms were light and spacious with good en-suite facilities and balconies. A great time had by all - I'm sure we'll be back!!

A hidden gem
Reviewed By AriochXThe approach to the main entrance hotel is not promising, requiring you to walk up the ramp of a multi-storey car park. Don't be put off, however; once inside, we were very pleasantly surprised. The receptionist was very helpful, providing us with useful information about the town and voucher booklets to several attractions. The room was huge and very nice, with well-worn but comfortable furnishings, a big bathroom and a wonderful view of the mountains overlooking the town. Breakfast in the mornings was lovely, with fried or scrambled eggs cooked to order and a wide variety of buffet foods on offer. In the evenings a variety of drinks are available from the bar at surprisingly reasonable prices. Overall we would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay there again next time we pass through Gerolstein.
