Cabins and camping located in a quiet valley 7 km outside Geiranger. 9 cabins of different standards all with parking outside cabin and free wifi. Breakfast if required. Nice area for hiking and perfect location for day trips in the area - Alesund, Trollstigen, Briksdal etc. Pet animals on site.
We stayed here for one night and rented a two bedroom cottage with one bedroom on the first floor (bunk bed) and three matresses in the atic. We loved the cottage and nature outside. The cottage seemed freshly painted in a vibrant orange colour which I simply adored. We had our own parking space next to the cottage which was great! The terrace was nice and spcious. The cottage was really cosy and very clean. The area around was very open and peaceful. We regretted not staying there longer. Will definitely come back here and recommend it to others! It’s a 16 min drive to Geiranger center. Free wife in the reception area.

We stayed at this hotel for just one night in May 2022 as part of our tour package. It has a view to die for. We had a lake facing view. We slept to the sound of the waterfall and wake up to the sun gleaming the surface of the snow capped mountain. It was simply wonderful and refreshing. Check in was fast although the lift is rather small. Most European hotels have small capacity lifts so try not to bring too big a luggage on your trip. The room is clean with all the basic amenities provided - hair dryer, shampoo, bath gel etc. Need to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste. Bed is comfortable and the quilt cover is thick and cosy. The restaurant offers a good and delicious buffet spread. Bread and butter are lovely too. More importantly, you will be looking at a scenic mountain & lake view as you dine. Wish I could stay there a little longer. We had some cocktails at the bar after dinner until about 12 midnight. The bartender was chatty and engaged us in a conversation. The ambience was relaxing. We even went for a walk down to the lake after dinner. It's about 3.6km but you will need to climb down several flights of stairs and up again. However, it's well worth the effort as you will be walking close to the falls and arrived at the tranquility of the lake. The air is so fresh and cool in Spring that you do not tire even after scaling the flight of stairs. Given another opportunity, I will visit this hotel again and try their spa.

Pros: Fantastic views from the hotel room (cost extra) and good location in Geiranger Cons: Old and worn hotel. The room was extremely small and so was the bathroom. Only a top-hinged sliding door between the toilet and the bedroom. The bed mattress was extremely soft and felt like lying on a poorly inflated air mattress. Very cold in the hotel (in August) and the bathroom floor was freezing cold in the morning, which seemed to save on heating costs. Unattended hotel reception between 2300-0700. Full on the parking lot in case of late arrival. Very loud in the room and you heard guests walking across the room when the floors creaked, especially annoying when trying to sleep. No TV or fridge in the room. The lunch was very poor; small selection, hot food was cold, annoyingly small drinking glasses, empty too much of the selection (ate at 0900). In addition, there was a Covid measure where one had to use plastic gloves (but not bandages) which was very impractical and annoying. The kitchen door was open all the time to the dining room and became quite noisy.

Hotel Geiranger is located in the heart of Geiranger. It is a short walk to the fjord sightseeing boat, souvernir shops, restaurants and the new Waterfall hiking path, which opened in 2014. We hope we get the pleasure to welcome you to Our hotel and to Geiranger.
Nice modern hotel, beautiful location in front of the Geiranger fjord, well equipped and spacious rooms, reasonable price for Norway (means expensive). All of this would deserve a higher rating, but a very strange decision has been taken by the hotel management: no more room cleaning to avoid contact with the guest clothes and equipment! If you want clean towels or toilet paper, you must go to pick them up at the reception desk. Of course, tariffs, that normally include a daily cleaning of the rooms, have not been reduced accordingly. An amazing use of the pandemia to improve the bottom line, but where is the service?

Geirangers quiet hotel ( no bar, no disco ) with *** accomodation, and a secluded garden with a view of three kilometres of the Geiranger fjord. Lunheim in Geiranger lies 3 km up from the fjord and merely 250 metres from the Flydalsjuvet viewpoint. Our guests can pack a lunch and a thermos of coffee and hike up into the mountain valleys, they can take some of our regional maps with them on a day trip, and they can relax in the secluded garden which has perhaps the best position above the Geiranger fjord. Guided walking & photo safaris in high mountain valleys are available in summer. Snowshoe hikes are available in winter. Send us an email to [email protected] for more details and a price quote.
Finally the 24th of July 2021 we arrived to Geiranger for the first time, but the happiness was short lived. After a long vacation we needed to do some quick laundry in the sink at our private bathroom, and hang it out on the guesthouse drying rack. We used the drying rack because the host the day before told me to hang our tent for drying there. After the clothes had been hanging there some hours, he told us "do you know we have laundryroom in the basement?" "I said, "No i did not know". Further on he told about a nice trip to take for our morning hike, and we thought everything was just fine. After our hike he interrupted our breakfast and said "He gave us a friendly hint about the laundry outside". He was very aggressive and not polite at all to us,and out of nowhere he told us "you only hear what you want to hear". A very disrespectful way to speak to their guests. He also gave us the option to find another place to stay for the next night. We told him that we wanted to think about it and went out for another hike. After this hike where we had talked it over, we decided to stay the last night, because we had a restaurant booking the same evening. When we got back he came knocked at our room and told us "did you not hear what I said? your booking in cancelled". We were shocked! and asked "why?" He told us it was one and only because we were using the laundry rack outside in the garden, and "this was not a 1 star camping". We have traveled a lot worldwide but never experienced such a bad host as Ian at Lunheim in our home country. We recommend all people to find something else. A 1 star camping is such a better place! Stay away!

We visited Djupvasshytta for one night,2 adults and 2 teenagers. Friendly and welcoming staff. Clean and delicate rooms, charming interior design with a perfect blend of modern style with retro elements. Delicious dinner and the breakfast was fantastic, personally served at the table.
