Restful, beautiful and brimming with Highland hospitality, the tastefully appointed Gairloch Hotel stands in a superb location. This charming hotel, built in 1872, is just minutes from the beach and boasts stunning views to the Western Isles from the public areas. The hotel has recently had a number of rooms updated to Superior and Premier status for those who wish to match the impressive backdrop with a more luxurious stay. Enjoy dining in the recently refurbished restaurant before settling down to an evening of great entertainment in the Grand Lounge and entertainment room which has also been tastefully updated. The hotel is situated at the centre point of Gairloch Bay, giving wonderful panoramic views out to the Isle of Skye and it lies in a landscape rich in wildlife with unspoilt shores, lochs and mountains.
This is only two star because of the staff who were brilliant . If it wasn’t for this I would have given it zero. We were a family of 7 and had booked three rooms. We had rooms all on the ground floor. The rooms were dated , tired, smelled and were not cleaned properly, one of the Tom’s had a leaking toilet every time you flushed. Whilst we reported this, nothing was done to rectify the situation. If your looking for a nice place to stay with clean facilities don’t choose this hotel. The food pricey for the quality you receive. For the price they charge per room I would have expected better but this clearly disappointed .

Gairloch Sands Youth Hostel is a cosy former hunting lodge situated on the northern shore of Loch Gairloch with magnificent sea and mountain views. Built in the 1880's this is one of the oldest youth hostels within the SYHA network. Gairloch Sands Youth Hostel is a popular choice with groups, families and individual travellers looking for budget accommodation. The youth hostel offers a good range of facilities including an excellent dining room, a well-equipped self-catering kitchen and both multi-share and private bedrooms. The most commented feature by our guests is the lounge which boasts stunning panoramic views of the Torridon hills and Loch Gairloch. Wi-Fi during your stay: We do our best to deliver a free Wi-Fi service but apologise that connectivity, particularly in our rural locations, can be intermittent due to the level of our current broadband provision along with high usage when the youth hostel is busy. Please be assured we are endeavouring to improve where we can. We thank you for your patience and understanding
I stayed at the hostel for three nights and found it clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and very helpful. My friends had dinner there one night and found the food delicious. Due to Covid, the kitchen facilities were not available. The dining room was spacious and we could lounge there. The views from the hostel were beautiful and there is a private beach across the road. It is very close to Big Sands caravan park and easy access to Gairloch shops and Poolewe.

We stayed for one night at the Gairloch Highland Lodge, the lady (I think she was the owner) was so friendly and welcoming. Our room was large with a dual aspect over the hills and harbour ?. Breakfast which we preordered was lovely and set us up for the day. Thank you

Despite the steady rain, our experience at Shieldaig Lodge was excellent, and we would certainly recommend it to others, and hope to return ourselves. The room was of good size, and likewise the bed, which was comfortable. The view was of the bay, and beautiful. I must admit that we had stayed at one or two rather indifferent hotels on our trip round the NC500, but Shieldaig was a treat. It oozes tradition, history, and quality. The lounges have atmosphere, and the restaurant was comfortable and served first rate fayre. Book a room with a view, and enjoy Scotland at its best.

A warm highland welcome to the Myrtle Bank Hotel. We are located in the heart of the Highlands on the shores of Gairloch, an ideal base from which to explore the unspoilt beauty of Wester Ross, famous for it's spectacular sunsets, rugged scenery and it's golden sandy beaches.
Great location on the sea front, nice room and modern ensuite, very friendly helpful staff, lovely views from the conservatory and dining room. We had an excellant dinner and breakfast. A very enjoyable stay.

After the Flowerdale waterfall walk we went in for a drink and found the place virtually empty. We were asked if we had booked. We said no, we just wanted a quiet drink. We were turned away since they were 'extremely busy'. The place was virtually empty! It would have taken them 5 minutes to pour our drinks! Unbelievable! I would recommend you avoid this establishment.
