Nice hotel if you just need a comfortable stay
Reviewed By jascheissdiewandanSmall family hotel you can stay in without any problems, breakfast is good, dinner as well. There is a common room with a fridge full of cold beverages. Staff is nice and helpful, and there is plenty of free parking space. WiFi didn't work for 3 days, and I hate one-way cups in the room and the bathroom as much as those tiny little useless shower gel bottles or single wrapped butter and jam - what's about trying to produce less trash, guys?

Wonderful find at short notice
Reviewed By StewartThorburnWe were driving from London to Berlin and on the return leg we decided to pop into Freudenberg, so glad we did,Beautiful town but we arrived late and of course everything was shut, our fault entirely.Hotel was suitable if a little dated. The restaurant was superb with and under attentive waiter! Still, the breakfast was to die for. So nice to stay in a hotel with german guests, it adds to the atmosphere! checkin and checkout was hassle free. Parking just across the road, 10/10

Charming weekend stay!
Reviewed By Kristiina83Even though this hotel needs some renovation (especially the bathrooms), I still consider it a nice and definitely a very charming option for a peaceful stay in Freudenberg. The building is absolutely wonderful and they have a nice restaurant serving local food. We had a standard room which was very cute and spacious. The bed was comfortable and we got a good sleep even though the room was above the restaurant and we heard some noise. There is heating in the room but no air conditioning which can make it feel a bit hot during summer. However, you can open the windows to cool it down a bit. The bathroom was on a smaller side and in need of renovation. General cleanliness was so-so and the room we had would need a good scrub, especially the floor and the bathroom. The breakfast was wonderful! Plenty of choice and everything tasted delicious. Also the lady working during the morning was very nice even though she didn't speak a word of English. All in all, this is a nice hotel, considering the very low price. We specifically loved the old charm of the building and the matching interior of the room. Only downside is cleanliness and the outdated bathroom. Everything considered, we would definitely return. They also have a sauna that they don't mention much but it's free for visitors. We decided to give it a try. Positive side was that it is a real, authentic Finnish sauna so you can throw water on the stones and get a proper steam, which is not common in Germany. Negative side is that it's very, very (!!!) outdated so don't expect much. I had emailed the property before our stay with some questions but never received a reply but they were very helpful on the phone when I called a few days later. Not sure about the parking in front of the hotel on the street (don't think it's allowed to park there) but there is free parking (P4) about a 5 min walk from the hotel. There are signs directing to P4 as you approach the old town so it's impossible to miss.

Reviewed By nikolvvvwe knew we gonna be late for our check-in. so we found phone number for this hotel and call them. receptionist told us to call them once we will arrive and she will give us master lock code. so when we arrived we tried to reach the receptionist but nobody answer. we found those master locks on side of the building. walking around to find diferent phone number. luckily we asked local guy and he told us the next building has got same owner. so we managed to find another phone number and finally got code for our room keys. room is quiet small, we found used razor in bathroom,not enough toilet paper. haven't spoken to anybody from the hotel

Awful service, unfilled food orders and cold food
Reviewed By Bruce EOur small tour group made the mistake of eating dinner at their restaurant last night. We arrived around 6:30 pm and didn’t leave until 10 pm- 3.5 hours of poor service, unfilled food orders, and cold pizza. I never received my order and the poor waitress (who spoke no English) seemed overwhelmed. When we asked to see the Manager, we were told he wasn’t there that night. We called him but no answer. The worst night of an otherwise wonderful visit to Germany.
