What's good? The hotel is very clean and, with a few exceptions, is generally well maintained. Bar and waiting staff are very friendly and efficient. The food is very good - mostly greek, very tasty and quite varied. There's always an option of pasta, for example, if you don’t want to eat local. Pool and beach area are both really nice. What's not so good? It's in the middle of nowhere. 45min walk to Eretria, the nearest town. You need a €20 cash only deposit to hire a towel. Bring cash. We didn't. There is no shop in or around the hotel so bring everything you might need. Nearest shops are in Eretria. Poor WiFi – don’t expect to stream anything. The WiFi also doesn't seem to agree with vpns, if you were planning on working, etc. Only TV channel in English is BBC news, if that bothers you. My Personal Thoughts/Opinions? The biggest and strangest issue is the language divide. This hotel revolves around the French and if you speak any other language you're going to suffer. We had no idea of this when booking. The reps will barely wave at you, then sit down with French guests and take for quite some time. They also appear to play games and quizzes with the French guests, something which was never made available to us. I had the feeling that they were not confident of their English speaking skills so just didn't attempt it. I certainly am not one to shy away from conversation so it’s not that we didn’t want to speak. With that however we felt completely alienated for the whole stay. Really odd. To a point where on day 6 of our stay I realised you could play boules at the front, purely because I saw it out of a window. I thought we were going mad until we met another British couple who felt exactly the same. Again, could be a language issue but no explanations are given for anything. Our safe didn't work and someone came to look at it while I was in the shower. He then came back a day later to say it's completely broken, and left. Later that next day I asked reception for an update and they said it needs completely replacing. That was it. No room change, no explanation, so we just didn't have a safe and were not moved. A similar experience trying to get a late check out. We were just told "No". I asked why and they said "...you can't". Again, just quite odd behaviour. While it doesn't specifically list itself as an adult only hotel, it certainly gave the impression of one online. That said, when the weekend hits, it becomes pure chaos. The place went from quiet to overrun and full of screaming children. Monday however, back to normal. They put on entertainment some evenings which is quite good. The weekend entertainment was a pianist playing through an amp, which went on beyond midnight. The problem here is that, performing in the main lobby, you can't escape it if you're staying in the main building as it's just at the bottom of the stairs from the rooms. Quite frustrating for my heavily pregnant wife.

The Resort is a family establishment and has been in operation since 2004. Since its opening, distinguished clients have shown their appreciation for the owners’ passion to offer outstanding services and accommodation in the most attractive setting. Our aim has always been to create a comfortable yet refined ambience accompanied by the best authentic Greek cuisine. The selection of fresh vegetables, fruits, meat and seafood from the local farmers is done with personal care day in day out. The in-house bakery and pastry preparation guarantees premium quality fresh, non – frozen, bakery items throughout the day! In a nutshell the hospitality of Negroponte Resort reflects the experience and values gained by the owners at Swiss Hotel Schools and in premises of Swiss Palace Hotels.
We spent 3 days in Negroponte during Easter. Hotel and rooms were a really taking share, service was very good and personnel very polite while the food was very good. I did not go with great expectations so I was very plesantly surprised. The hotel and its staff were really organised and although it was full everything run really smoothly and guests were really taken good care. Breakfast was of great variety and quality. We will definetely visit it again

Miramare Hotel 4* is located at the south part of Eretria, a sea side town with history and ancient monuments. The hotel is surrounded by gardens with Mediterranean vegetation including olive, mandarin, lemon, orange, fig and almond trees. Miramare Hotel 4* was built in 1981 and has been in operation by the Stratis family ever since. In 2008 it was again renovated. The Hotel spreads in an area of 22.000 square metres of gardens and disposes of 94 rooms in the central building and in the 4 annexes. The services and hospitality are of the utmost importance to us as well as the friendliness of our team. We also owe our quality to our exquisite cuisine which is based on Greek olive oil and fresh ingredients from the local market. The picturesque bay in front is only 130meters away and it has easy and safe to access via an underground passage.
I would like to thank you and all your staff especially Ilias and his team for a great stay at your hotel with my family. All your staff are extremely friendly and the hotel facilities plus staff provide A'class services. Be sure that my family and I will return next year. FANTASTIC AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Twice a day Intensive 30 minutes water exercise - we love it, hard work in the water. Treatments - a whole list for your selection. Prices are reasonable. Good massages, Mud warp and bath, my wife loved it. All is under medical supervision. Breakfast - wide selection, fresh good food. Restaurant in the hotel - a chef's restaurant, we ate out. Water - a minus, Hotel management to change their attitude - because of high temperatures it has to be free with cooler tapes everywhere. Greece tape water are ok. Sure that we shall visit soon for body maintenance.... Highly recommended

The Karystion Hotel is located on a tree-lined, park promontory overlooking the sea. A wide, canopied, wraparound sitting-and-dining verandah accents the park's idyllic beauty, as well as the hotel's serenity.
Not luxurious, though decent, very clean, friendly employees. Well situated (next to the beach, walking distance to the center, rather quiet in the evening). Good tips by the reception regarding the city.

The cape of Gregolimano points its nose of white sand defiantly at the mountains across the water. From the hotel to the bungalows in the pine wood, this Club Med Resort reveals its secrets through a succession of porches, floral paths and charming patios in a joyous labyrinth of dazzling white. The pleasures of water-skiing and tennis can be enjoyed at a high level. Between training sessions, parents and their children can get together around the swimming pool and poolside bar.
This was our first time to Club Med, after hearing lots of recommendations from our friends we decided to take the plunge and travel to Greece. A long enough journey with a 2 and 8 year old. We chose the Greece destination as we knew we were guaranteed lovely weather and not too hot for the May half term. We decided to sort our own transfers from various reviews about length of taxi time from Athens etc. Upon landing we took our own prebooked taxi but had to face a 3.5 hour journey to the resort, as we took the winding road option side of the island that didn’t consist of the straight motorway route. Warning, if you suffer from travel sickness do not take this route, it took forever and the bends were not nice. We decided to take the return route for the departure with Club Med there and then. ( A short taxi boat ride 20 mins from the resort to the other side and then a 2 hour taxi straight motorway route to Athens airport!) The resort was lovely and very scenic, we had adjoining rooms which was ideal for us and the kids – travel cot provided, it was very clean (albeit it smelt a little damp) but this didn’t ruin the stay. Excellent enmities and the room cleaning service was very efficient and generous on towels being provided when needed. The quality of food, wine, cocktails and aperitives was excellent. I really cannot fault it. The organisation between the activities for both adults and kids was spot on. All the G.O’s and other guests were all so friendly and welcoming. The resort is clean and always looking superb! The efficiency of all the staff was impressive, nothing was out of line, if there was a spillage in the restaurant it was quickly dealt with and with smiling faces. The choice of food on the menu was great each buffet station had a rotation of food options per meal per day. It was impressive. The spot itself is situated in a bay and the water was crystal clear, Club Med has a reputation of acquiring the best spots in the country its residing in, and this did not disappoint. The facilities were great! Arm bands already provided for kids as well as beach /pool towels. We didn’t need to spend any extras unless you wanted to buy a glass of champagne etc, As a word of warning, also, if you have babies/under 2 year olds needing milk and nappies, be sure to bring a good supply with you. As a first timer, we didn’t realise this so we had to buy some nappies on the Greek amazon equivalent, and the receptionist who helped us source the problem was very friendly and even offered to drive us to the local shop if the delivery was late – bearing in mind this would have been a 60 euros EACH way cab ride. Plus also to bear in mind to bring cash if you need any babysitters ( again for babies under 2) as they don’t have any cash points on site and a lot of the sitters would be cash in hand so FYI) . All in all it was a pretty positive experience! For the return we did the Club Med taxi boat transfer but sourced original taxi driver as we already had a deal with him, upon arribing at the port, the Club med rep even helped load our suitcases onto our privatekly sourced taxi. Admitedly it’s not a big deal if he hadn’t but it was the gesture of him doing it, so again massive brownie points for Club Med. We will definitely be trying a new Club Med destination for our future break and even very likely to return to Gregolimano. Highly recommend!!!
