One of the nicest hotels in this dusty little beach town
Reviewed By Ron MEsmeraldas was not the best beach town to spend a night in, but the Hotel Perla Verde was a bit of an oasis. Clean, modern room with a comfortable bed. Lot's of hot water in the shower. If I had another connection in Esmeraldas this would be a good choice for the night.

It is central to all the bars and restaurants in Las Palmas. The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Small clean convenient hotel
Reviewed By Thomas E EI selected this hotel via the Internet mainly because of its location: in front of the beach where the triathlon in which I was participating was located. My expectations were low as I just wanted a place to sleep from which I could walk with my bike to the starting area on the beach. What luck! The small hotel was not only convenient but clean, with a comfortable queen-size bed, good low-noise producing air conditioner (it's hot in Esmeraldas) and a TV with many channels. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. They loaned me a plug to attach to my cell phone charger. And, they even allowed mine small dog to stay in the room. Across from the hotel is a recently remodeled large plaza and an area facing the beach with several seafood restaurants. Closer restaurants and a few bars do make some noise you have to deal with at night but I slept through the noise. The beach is wide and clean and, being a Sunday, was full of local families.

Lovely coastal get-away
Reviewed By EcuaAmericanaWe stayed in one of the garden view rooms of this lovely brand new boutique hotel on the coast of Ecuador, 10 minutes by taxi from the center of Esmeraldas, 3 minutes from the airport. It felt like a lot of care went into creating a very nice and comfortable space off the beaten track. It's located right on the beach and feels private because there aren't any other businesses nearby. The rooms on the second floor where we stayed are spacious. All rooms have air conditioning and full bathrooms with hot water (not always a given in tropical climates!). I also appreciated the low-flow toilets. One thing I especially enjoyed about our room was waking up in the morning to the calming sound of the ocean waves. We went for a walk on the beach for 45 minutes and hardly ran into anyone, which was refreshing since I've been to the popular spots south of Esmeraldas (Atacames, Sua, etc.) which are always very crowded. The Continental breakfast was very good, and we especially liked our lunch of typical food (shrimp in coconut sauce, fried plantains) in the restaurant. The owner, Gustavo, lived in the states for many years and is fluent in English. He is very open to suggestions regarding his new hotel (I didn't have any!) and is just a nice person to talk with. The prices were very reasonable ($44 for two, including breakfast, $33 for one). I visit Ecuador often and will definitely return on my next trip!

Reviewed By EraxonaEstuvimos allá en año nuevo del anterior año. La habitación era linda y las vistas espectaculares. La parte negativa es que El menú de navidad fue horrible y carísimo. Nos cobraron 30 dolares por persona y estaba hasta el arroz duro.

rather basic place
Reviewed By Inga_K_KJust a very basic, very tired hotel, perhaps it is among the better in Esmeraldas but then I don´t really want to find out what the other hotels are like. On plus side it is right next to the beach provided you want to swim there. There are also a lot of restaurants of the street and a complex of restaurants on the beach. There was air conditioning in the room. The breakfast was your basic eggs as you like, juice and some fruit. At least there was cacao in case you do not like instant coffee. On the not so plus side – not sure why a basic room should be called junior suite with a sea view. It really is a rather basic room with dirty windows and the sea view is a strip of grey behind bus terminal. Having a bus terminal right next to the hotel means that buses are constantly on the move, with the sound that buses in Latin America can make. So the street next to hotel is very loud, I even had trouble hearing the TV. The water pressure was good, but temperature a bit fluctuating.

Såg lugnt och behagligt ut, med bara något annat hotell i närheten! Hade vi visst att det ligger mitt ibland ett antal, otroligt många, restauranger som håller igång med hög musik, redan på eftermiddagen, hade vi aldrig valt detta hotell! Det spelades hög musik som ekade i huset, mycket störande! Inte ens öronproppar tog bort dunkandet! Vi har inget mot att man spelar musik, men då ska vi själv få välja det! Vi möttes av en vänlig man som visade oss rummet och ingen sade något om hög musik eller så. Tyvärr blev detta hotellbesök inte något vi hade drömt om, då hotellet inte levde upp till våra förväntningar! Hotellet är nytt med bra standard, bra sängar, bra badrum, tv, wifi och vänlig personal, men på helt fel plats och i fel omgivning! Hela "orten" känns skräpig och ostädad. Dålig väg ut till hotellet!

Reviewed By Juan Carlos CEl hotel no tiene agua caliente, la puerta del baño está descuadrada. Cuenta con televisión con cable. No incluye el desayuno. Considero que el costo no representa el servicio además de la distancia a la ciudad de Esmeraldas se necesita transporte. Tiene parqueadero.
