We stayed in an Executive Master Room which was fabulous. We had views across The Green and Ely Cathedral which was beautiful! The staff were excellent and we enjoyed both lunch in the attractive courtyard and dinner in the restaurant. Food was delicious and the Chocolate Delice was life changing, such a shame they ran out on our last evening!!! The centre of the town and river was a short walk away and no issues with parking, literally a short walk round the corner. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Location was very good for sight seeing also got train into Cambridge which was cheaper than driving and parking there. Room very comfortable although very warm but fan supplied which was welcome. Staff all very friendly especially Lauren. Only had breakfast here but food was really nice. Think the spaces outside the stable rooms should be reserved for those staying in those rooms as not to be disturbed early morning by other guests/staff.

velodge Ely is a quiet, comfortable and affordable hotel in the popular town Ely. With friendly staff and free parking as well as a Burger King on site.
Extremely dissatisfied, the room had no toilet paper, no shower gel or hand wash and the bathroom had a leak all around the toilet. Although staff were friendly, I was incredibly shocked and dissatisfied with the rooms overall state.

Spent a night here and were impressed. The entry is all arranged in advance without the need to check in. The room was spotless clear and we had a nice view of the river and marina. Breakfast was delicious and again the breakfast room was spotless. We were unable to find space in the nearby carpark, but found another only five minutes away - and it was free. There is a ten minute walk up to the city centre and the cathedral. We gladly recommend this hotel.

Definitely a B&B with a difference. Nice room, very comfy beds with a lot of tea and coffee in the room. Very quirky decorating: every wall was a different wallpaper which made it interesting. Very friendly staff, and a lovely large garden backing on a golf course so it was really quiet, with lots of birdsong from the mature trees on the property. A great breakfast, thought I think the owner forgot we were there on the first night as I had to use the cell phone provided to call him for breakfast as nothing was ready at 7:30. He was very apologetic, and breakfast was very good. The hotel is only about 15 minutes walk from the centre of town and the cathedral, and 17 minutes from the train station. There was plenty of free parking. My sister and I would definitely stay again.

Our Bed and Breakfast side of the business is closed for refurbishment and will not be complete until 2017.
We stayed for 1 night. The room is small but very comfy. Staff really friendly and the restaurant was great. We had a fabulous meal with large portions and all fresh to order. The breakfasts were to die for and they catered for people with coeliac disease. Definitely be back

We spent two nights at the Royal Standard while sightseeing in the area. We had Room 5, at the top of the building, which was spacious, with a large shower and very comfortable superking bed. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent, with everything home-cooked to order. Dinner was also very good: although this is a large, busy pub, it wasn't too crowded on a Monday and Tuesday, just pleasantly bustling. We really enjoyed our stay at the Royal Standard, and I would recommend it to anybody.
