A brilliant first rate restaurant
Reviewed By RJERT2The restaurant at the Kronenschlösschen has reopened and is as brilliant and enjoyable as it ever was. The owner and the staff are thoughtful, good humoured and knowledgeable. Today we enjoyed the Spanish menu. It was delicious and is highly recommended! It is one of the great pleasures of enjoying a meal at the Kronenschlösschen, that when you are finished, you are left with a feeling of having eaten extremely well and yet not too much. Here quality includes presentation as well as delivery and you leave with a sense of admiration for what you have experienced. My wife and I will return often and with great pleasure, even if we cannot do justice to the excellent and wide ranging wine collection.

Not a terribly far walk from the train station nor from town center. Variety of restaurants to chose from, but check to see if they require reservations! Excellent wine selections around town. Breakfast at the hotel is very good and tasty.

Weekend at Eltville with a baby
Reviewed By 214rnWe spent one night there. Gave us a spacious room for us and to fit our baby travel cot. The room was clean and had ameneties. But i have to say toileteries was kept to the bare minimum of soap and tissur box. Still when i asked for a bottle of watet they gave us a small sparkling one free of charge. The blackouts were not good but it didnt matter. It wasnt hot so the room temperature was good But i imagine on a hot night it will be noisy as the room as from one side to the parking and the other to a seating area. But we didnt face any problem. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Nice outdoor searing area for breakfast and we had complimentary cheese bites and wine glasses which was great. All in all great place. Would be perfect if those minor details in the room were fixed

Outstanding in every way!
Reviewed By MilleVociThe room, the breakfast and the service were all to die for. The room was spacious and comfortably fitted a huge bed and also a full size wardrobe. There was also a large writing desk and an arm chair in the corner. The bed was so comfortable and spacious I forgot I was sharing it! The bathroom was very large and bursting with amenities. Excellent quality toiletries and all the extras you never thought would be provided in a hotel - face powder, make up brush and more. The toilet and the shower were back to back with each other with a wall in between, which was a clever way of utilising the space. The best thing was that there was a warming light in the bathroom and it really did keep me warm when I came out of the shower. I was very impressed. Breakfast next day was the true highlight. The staff served us a buffet at our table, beginning with bread, cold cuts and cheese, and explained where each ingredient was from and why each was chosen. I really appreciated the thoughtfulness and the support for local produce. After that we could order any breakfast item we wanted and they would bring it to the table. We ate like royalty! We enjoyed our stay so much and we would love to be back!

Reviewed By Albert MWe were in Eltville for a wedding party and needed a place to sleep. So we arrived in a very nice small hotel in an historic old building. Very good service and a beautiful room, but we were surprised by the excellent riant breakfast.

Quiet accomodations in the German Rhein wine region
Reviewed By Linda CWe had a lovely room on the first floor (eight steps to climb for those of us with walking difficulties). It was very clean and had a great view of the garden area and a glimpse of the river. The bathroom was spacious and clean, and the bed very comfortable. The owners did all they could to make us happy during the stay. We also attended a party there, with food and wine pairings and grilled offerings. Our group had a tour of the wine cellar also, which continuously made Riesling wines since the 1300's.

Gesagt ,,klein und fein, so soll's sein" - und daran haben wir uns bis heute gehalten. Inzwischen fuhrt Josef Laufer III. Das Hotel und die Gastwirtschaft ,,Zum Krug". Manches hat sich verandert, das Gute ist geblieben. Klein und fein ist das Angebot an unseren liebevoll eingerichteten Gastezimmern. Ob unsere traditionellen Zimmer im Weinhaus zum Krug oder die modern gestalteten Themenzimmer im angrenzenden alten Rathaus - bei uns fuhlen sich alle wohl, die eine familiare und ruhige Atmosphare schatzen.

Reviewed By DanH806262The Zum Krug hotel is a beautiful hotel with a great restaurant. The rooms were clean and simple. Breakfast was great with choice of fresh (and good) fruit, eggs etc. Many restaurants has this but here it is great and freshly made opposite many other places. Remember to book the restaurant in advance as well as try their wine.

I heard while making a reservation that management changed in the hotel and honestly I had my doubts... these lasted till I stayed there last time. They made many improvements! Rooms have key cards, nicer amenities, more attention to the guests (including to my furry friend) and the restaurant is also better. The reception team also took their time to recommend me a nice tour around the museum. Also loved the “Wine Garden”! Such a nice way to spend a sunny afternoon! Yes... corona times are hard for many but they manage to make my day better even while maintaining social distance. I will for sure come back soon to see what else they improve! Well done!

It's only a 5 minute walk from the train station and two minutes from the river. The owners were really friendly and helpful, with perfect English. My single room was on the small side but it was clean, tidy and quiet. Breakfast was a good selection of bread, cheese, meats, fruit and yoghurt and could be taken outside in the square in the sunshine. Really good value for money!

Family-run feeling to charming little gem
Reviewed By HallonornMy family had a very pleasant stay at this medium-small family wine estate, We were treated very well by everyone we met from the owner who checked us in to the shaggy dog who had a free range of the premises. Good quality rooms, nicely situated close to the Rhein, short walk into picturesque town of Eltville. I wish the estate wine tasting room had been open during our all too short stay.
