STAY WAS AWESOME UNTIL THE LAST NIGHT WHICH RUINED THE ENTIRE STAY

Reviewed By yvettel542

My company was invited to Los Angeles for a pre-Oscar event. I decided to stay at the El Monte location due to the awesome reviews. First I would like to compliment the hotel on the spacious rooms and the lobby area. My entire stay was fine until the final night. I and my brand ambassador were arriving back after attending a Gala. We were in gala attire (full ball gowns, etc). Irene was working the front desk that night. When we approached the lobby the door was locked and we couldn't get in. Irene looked at us and asked the reservation name through the speaker. I told her my name and waited for her to open the door. Nothing happened and awhile later she asked for my name again. I told her my name again and also told her my company name and room number. We waited there awhile and I asked could she please open the door. Finally she opened the door. I wasn't sure what happened since I never had a problem entering the hotel on previous nights. She said she needed to make sure we weren't homeless people. Now, I'm not sure about the homeless people in Los Angeles, but in Louisiana they don't show up with full ball gowns, and professionally done makeup. She also said she wanted to make sure we wouldn't knock randomly on guest doors. In all my life I have not been mistaken for a homeless person or a prostitute. To say I was upset would be an understatement. I spoke to the manager the next morning and his response was she's done that before. I am not sure why Holiday Inn would allow someone to work the front desk that has a history of insulting guests. She definitely made the trip memorable, but for all the wrong reasons.

Wonderful staff and Great Service

Reviewed By LilyVX

Upon arrival the receptionist was so warm and welcoming. The rooms could use a bit of updating, but for the price I paid it was more than enough. The hotel was in a good location close to so many wonderful restaurants and supermarkets. If you feel the need to spend more there is a Holiday Inn across the street. Otherwise, if you're looking for a place to sleep for a decent price this would hotel is just that. The room was clean and there was staff always on site. This is a wonderful little town to explore with a large amount of Chinese and Mexican influences. I do highly recommend and will definitely come back. Thank you for the wonderful stay!
