Number 52 is a small bed and breakfast in a Victorian house situated along the A914 in Cupar. Just 10 minutes walk from Cupar town centre with its selection of shops, pubs, restaurants and good public transport system. Ideally situated for visiting St Andrews, East Neuk fishing villages, Dundee and Edinburgh.
We had a great welcome and excellent service while at number 52. Our rooms were spotless, warm and very comfortable, breakfast was very tasty and service relaxed and friendly. Number 52 is perfectly positioned allowing us to walk to our friends in 10 minutes and into Cupar town centre in 5 minutes.

Meadowside bed & breakfast is a modern family home close to town centre with nice bars and restaurants. Scottish deer centre close by .10 miles from St. Andrews home of golf. Twenty golf courses in 10 miles radius. Close to the East Neuk fishing villages.
There is a 3 star plaque above the door on Meadowside and although my 3 night stay was totally fine, I wouldn’t call it 3 star. The room was large, the beds were clean and comfy, but the en suite had no separate heat source, so was very cold unless we left the door open the whole time. The towels were changed every day, which was great, but also needed as they would never have dried in the cold bathroom! The breakfast was basic and Mary, our host, seemed thrown off by my being a being a vegetarian, so I was offered baked beans, eggs and toast. It seems strange in 2019 that any establishment wouldn’t keep some veggie sausages in the freezer. My carnivore travelling companion said that the meat sausages were not of a good quality. No extra toiletries were provided, there were 2 lots of left over shower gel and some liquid soap on the sink. We had to go out and buy shampoo, conditioner and more shower gel, with all the restrictions on toiletries on flights (and the fact that the shampoo etc we bought were only £1 a bottle) I would expect the basics to be provided by all types of b&bs, regardless of budget. Generally I would say it is a perfectly fine b&b, clean and comfy but don’t expect anything above the basic, cheap towels, cheap sausages, no toiletries, a kitchenette with 4 forks, 1 knife and no glasses other than wine glasses, a tv that can’t be watched comfortably from either bed, no information sheet in the room with breakfast times, WiFi code etc. It felt like we weren’t expected and the room wasn’t fully set up!

A lovely bed & breakfast find. In the pretty village of Strathmiglo. Our host Susan was welcoming & friendly. Our accommodation was clean, comfortable & very reasonably priced. Breakfast was also included. It was based inside Susan's lovely home. She was very accommodating & a lovely host. Would definitely use again if we were travelling that way in the future.
