Columbia is South Carolina's capital and home to the University of South Carolina. Along Columbia's wide avenues are historic sites ranging from an antebellum mansion to the former home of a slave who bought her freedom, plus museums, galleries, music venues, theaters and shops. Columbia's three rivers, lake, canal, national park and several city parks offer opportunities for recreation and relaxation. Among the kid-pleasing destinations are a zoo and the largest children's museum in the south.

Our South Carolina retreat boasts local charm, with Gamecock-inspired headboards and echoes of "Oot Oot." Plaids, chevron and touches of grass cloth come together in guestrooms. In the lobby, bright colors and cheery florals pop against dark wood paneling. Take in the bookish surroundings at our lobby-level café, Poindexter Coffee, and fuel your muse with a caffeinated beverage or two.
Enjoyed the stay, management needs to up their game a little with cleaner room - balcony was dirty- and better breakfast. Great facility and location, big comfy room for a good price. Overall a fun and nice place to stay.

We had a 3 day stay that went very well for a Family reunion. Camaro at front desk was very hospitable. Our rooms were very clean and updated. Hotel amenities were nice. Only slight: one front desk person wasn’t as kind in helping change a key and room pillows were very flat. Overall, this was still a great stay!

Stayed twice in 3 weeks. Plenty of parking, nice pool, friendly staff and well maintained property. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Skip the Brazil place next door. Way overpriced. The Restaurant is closed Sunday nights due to not having a liquor license. Would be Nic if they could/would open without the booze.

I had a two night stay at this hotel during a business conference in the city of Columbia. After seeing the hotel on the website, I was excited for my trip. When I got to the hotel, I was disappointed. Here's why: 1. The decor is hip but very dated. I was surprised to learn that this hotel is part of the Marriott family of hotels. Marriott usually has very high standards and their hotels are usually terrific. The rooms at this Aloft were acceptable, but not impressive. The lack of decor and color in the hallways ways downright creepy (see photo) . I didn't feel comfortable walking down the hallway by myself. 2. Lack of service. My room was not cleaned after the first night. After the second night, it was clear that someone came in and made the beds, but didn't change the sheets. The same fast food stains were found on the sheets. There was also pillowcase with a spot of blood on it (see photo). 3. There is no information in the room on what restaurants are near by, no information on how to order room service, or when (if?) breakfast would be available the following morning. There were no instructions on how to check out of your room. 4. No vending / ice machines. If there were, I didn't know because there were no signs indicating either were available. This hotel has lots of potential, but needs work. All of the staff at the front desk were very friendly and welcoming.

My room is always roomy and clean, balcony rooms are the best fit for me .Arpan Landge is always accommodating and he always takes care of me and really goes out of the way to make sure you have whatever you need. They also take care of their Bonvoy- Members which really makes the stay special. Great place! The staff in general are really nice!

I stayed at this property for 1 night while traveling south. It's convenient to the interstate. The property is new and modern......not the traditional Hampton design. My room was clean and comfortable. The "black out" shade instead of curtains was a nice touch. The fitness room was well equipped for a hotel of this size. The TVs on the cardio equipment actually worked, which is rare. Breakfast was typical for Hampton. I'd go back

This is by far one of the cleanest hotels we have ever stayed in. The entire hotel was squeaky clean. Upon entering our room it smelled fantastic! There was not a speck of dust or dirt anywhere. The window, mirror, sink and glass shower door were clean and without water spots. The shower stall was all white, and there was not a hair or speck of soap scum, mildew, stains, etc. Microwave and mini fridge were spotless as well. Linens were clean. We asked for fresh towels one day, just expecting towels. When we returned our entire room was spotless again! Staff was cheerful, smiling, and friendly every time we entered or left. There was always someone at the front desk to help if we had questions. We stayed here on 2 separate occasions this month and will definitely stay here again. Highly recommend staying here!

We have stayed here numerous times during our daughters college experience-- This time we stayed 3 nights with 2 rooms at $4000 for graduation and the rooms were very dirty- used towels left in bathroom- mirrors streaked, dust everywhere , trash overflowing in all our cans. I called down to front desk to ask for more toilet paper, towels and cups and 3 hours later no response--- Told we had to come get them ourselves. Elevator would not come to 3rd floor- we had to take steps multiple times! Free breakfast closed every time we went to eat. Really a disappointment for an exciting family trip for graduation.

First I want to say that the night clerk was very helpful and nice. But the day front desk and customer service is not how you run a business, we checked in at 2 am to find out our room was not prepped from the guest before - sheets used, towels used, garbages filled, nobody could do anything until next day so I called next day only to be told we have to request clean up 24 hours before so nothing can be done - imagine staying in a filthy room and cannot go anywhere else because all rooms are booked due to college graduation in town. Imagine having to change your own sheets. And being told hey get your own stuff and change it yourself after paying 700$ for a room. Will never stay here again and if you plan to think twice
