Agriturismo a due passi dal centro dell'antico borgo di Ciciano
The outside space is lovely, with a quiet terrace overlooking Tuscan hills. The apartment is well maintained and well equipped. Dinners (served a couple times a week in high season) are truly fantastic. Wifi is fairly good. The aircon is not strong enough for the hotter days in August, affecting the quality of sleep.

On the way from Siena to Massa Marittima and Follonica you will be welcomed in the Hotel Restaurant "IL PALAZZETTO" which offer you the opportunity of staying amidst the green tuscan hills at the source of the Merse River. It is a magnificent stay for those who appreciate the culture and outdoor life. Surrounded by woods and rivers, this is a perfect starting point for excursions trough the beauty
We had dinner here twice during a recent visit at a nearby town with a recommendation to eat the pizza. It is Neapolitan-style and was very tasty at a very low price. Th pizza was made right in front of us so was fresh and simple. None of the staff speak English but we spoke a little Italian so made out just fine. This was an easy place to reach, had good pizza at a good price and decent service.

Tenuta di Spannocchia is a magical place 20 km from Siena. A sustainable eco farm with an organic restaurant, in the Merse river nature reserve, 20 km from Siena, 35 km from San Gimignano and 70 km from the nearest airport of Florence. It offers rooms with private bathroom and view and independent houses that can accommodate up to 10 people. It has a seasonal swimming pool, free parking and a predominantly organic restaurant, with home-grown products, Cinta senese, Calvane cows, vegetables, wine, oil, honey, jams etc. All organic. The service is familiar. The Villa dates back to 1500 while the Tower dates back to 1225. It maintains its historical, architectural, landscape and educational identity as an example of eco-sustainability, with a strong passion for hospitality. Among our activities there are Cooking Courses and some tasting and history tours. If you are looking for a vacation destination off the beaten track, but with a warm welcome, Spannocchia is the place for you!
A working vineyard with soul and charm. Their kitchen serves food made from the farm's own ingredients. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The young people who are on longer working holidays give the place a special atmosphere.

Tucked away in the Tuscan hillside not far from the cultural centres of Florence and Siena, we have lovingly restored Borgo Santo Pietro, a thirteenth century villa and its 100 acres of enchanting gardens, with a vision to create a bespoke, luxury private retreat. A resting place for pilgrims en route to Rome 800 years ago, this ancient site continues to provide sanctuary to our guests today.
I usually don't write positive reviews as 5* places such as this one are expected to have their service at certain level, and superb experience is something that is the norm. The whole experience from the first time you step foot on the property is above&beyound. Attentiveness of the staff, their non-intrusiveness yet availability is perfect. Architecture, design and style of the place is tought out in the minutest of details, the whole place is designed with upmost attention to detail. Borgo is not just the hotel&restaurant, but a massive property, for which you optimally need 4-5 days to properly explore it all, and it is well worth it.

Offering a unique position in front of the famous San Galgano Abbey, Agriturismo San Galgano is located in Chiusdino and surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Val di Merse. Set in its garden, it offers free WiFi in shared areas, free private parking, and bike rental. The rooms are elegantly rustic, quite and comfortable. Each comes with a cooling fan, and an en suite bathroom. At the San Galgano the restaurant serves traditional Tuscan cuisine. Our apartments, built in 2016 with a completely equipped kitchen, skillfully combine the demands of modern life with tradition in order to offer an experience of comfort within a context typical of Tuscany. Every room in the apartment has its own private bathroom with shower, hairdryer, courtesy set, Led TV in every bedroom and free, fast and reliable WiFi connection. All the apartments are air-conditioned. Siena is only a few km form the property. You can reach the coast, with its beaches, within an 1-hour drive.
The location itself and the surroundings look very beautiful and it is a quite nice location for day trips within the Tuscany. The rooms are big enough and clean. However, the service and hospitality is really poor. We didn’t get any information, no tips and recommendations, no one took care of us and we really felt like undesired foreigners during the stay. Returning from a day trip late in the evening, we couldn’t enter the building with the keys we got. No one told us that they will close the door at a certain point of time and we only found out by chance, that we needed to use a completely different door which no one showed us. Also, we damaged our suitcases really badly because we were not allowed to drive in front of the building for check in and check out. We had to carry the suitcases through gravel roads through quite a long distance. Since they were too heavy to lift them up for the long way, we had to pull them and one suitcase broke completely. No lift inside so my 70 year old dad and my disabled brother would have been lost without our help. We had dinner at their restaurant one day, it was the worst during all our Italy trips. Wine was ok. We will certainly NOT return and can’t recommend this accommodation at all.

Mulino delle Pile was built in the early 13th century by the monks of the neighbouring Serene abbey, ensuring the people of Chiusdino, in addition to a place in which to mill their grain, somewhere to stiffen linen for sale in distant market. This activity was performed well into the 15th century. The original architecture of the mill has been restored and it now offers a warm, elegant welcome to guests, who can gather in small spaces in the old, elegantly refurnished tower, or in the lounge in which they can converse by the fireplace, just like in the old days. The Mill is a farm with only 8 family rooms, a large treed park by the river, nice area for trekking and biking, not far from Siena, Firenze, and the sea. Also included: daily cleaning of the room and an equipped kitchen.Enjoy our sport facilities: swimming pool, table tennis, green volley, mountain bikes. Our restaurant offers a typical homemade Tuscan cuisine.
Stayed here for six nights to attend a wedding in San Galgano. Beautiful setting amongst a lightly wooded area with stream running through. If you want a 'chill out' break this is the place for you. The rooms are basic and very clean, we found it a little dark. The breakfast was good with a great variety to choose from. Ate in the restaurant a couple of times and found the food to be good. A big thank you to Luigia for all her help. Would highly recommend ?

Unforgettable holidays in one of the most beautiful medieval hamlet in Tuscany. Tenuta di Papena, inserted in the splendid naturalistic atmosphere of the Saint Galgano Abbey, welcomes you in the evocative scenery of the Tuscany countryside, a few kilometres from Siena, famous for its art and for the "Palio di Siena", which takes place on the second of July and the eighteenth of August.
I have to start by saying a huge thank you to Ginevra for making our wedding so wonderful and I will remember it as the best day of my life forever. Myself and my husband get stressed quite easily but with Ginevra's support and organisation the day was absolutely perfect and we have so many loving memories of our day, Tuscany and Tenuta De Papena. We hope to return in a few years time for our anniversary! After falling in love with the San Galgano abbey, we knew we wanted to get married in Tuscany. We arranged to view Tenuta back in the cold and grey November in 2017, when we met Gini it was so important for us to work with someone who would understand us, our ideas and wedding vision. Ginevra is the type of person that is incredibly passionate, creative and open minded. We bonded over interests of fashion, London and art. This was important for us so that we could essentially create a relationship that enabled us to be ourselves and trust Gini with her opinions and recommendations. Throughout the whole process of organising and planning, Ginevra helped us every step of the way. I can only thank her so much for replying to our millions of emails and whatsapps along the way! My husband and I like to know every detail and Ginevra put our minds at ease so many times. We found it really helpful to share our pinterest and powerpoints of photographs and ideas so that we would create our vision. Ginevra has a very good contacts within the area of Tuscany as she knows exactly who is the best supplier for each part of your wedding. I found that I really appreciated her honesty and opinions on caters, florists, photography and music. Ginevra has a wealth of experience in planning weddings, and understanding the flow/structure of a wedding day - she would explain how something would work from not just our point of view but a guests eyes too. Ginevra also helped us with the UK side of the paperwork and translating the documents - we felt slightly out of depth on this but every time there was a query or question, Gini helped us to resolve it. We stayed at Tenuta Di Papena for 3 nights along with our friends and family - they all loved their time there and they too have a special place in their hearts for Tuscany now. The villa and its apartments are beautiful and historic not to mention the stunning views! Thank you again for our time at Tenuta Di Papena - hopefully we will be back soon! A+D x

little farm house near medieval village of Chiusdino. An appartament for family and long stay or a room for short period or cuople. It is available the breackfast home made with cake, marmelade or salad
Ideally located with a great panoramic view of Chiusdino in one direction and beautiful Tuscan countryside the other. The property consists of a single apartment located above the office/kitchen with 2 spacious bedrooms and a large lounge/dinning/kitchen area with an open fireplace. The immaculate apartment was tastefully decorated with a typical Tuscan feel. The property is family run and Marta was an excellent host providing a great breakfast with typical regional fare.
