Large well appointed rooms with every amenity, Open air lounge/restaurant/bar was comfortable and afforded great views of property and Laos. This place is a must return for me! Thank you Mai!

Everyone needs a place to lay their weary head. For travelers visiting Chiang Khong, Family House Resort is an excellent choice for rest and rejuvenation. Clean and close to the border crossing into Laos
Reviewed By forsharaWe spent the night before we crossed over to Laos at Family House Resorts. It sets back from the main road so there is some traffic noise but the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The rooms are actually in individual cabins with a queen size bed, modern bathroom, small refrigerator, and flat-screen TV. The Wifi works well...although I couldn't get my iPhone to connect but my husband got his connected. The hotel is quite far from the center of town but it is about 4 miles from the border crossing. It is a great location if you are spending the night before crossing into Laos. There are some eating places nearby run by locals. Also, there is a coffee shop down the road that offers sandwiches, toast, and sweets. It is called Coffee Moja...on the same side of the road as the hotel. Hint: if you are on the bus from Chiang Mai and the tuk-tuk driver comes on asking if anyone is going to the border, get off at that stop. The hotel is close to the border stop...I thought that we were close to "Friendship Bridge" (the border) but the tuk-tuk driver said no to go into the station. We ended up backtracking in another tuk-tuk from where we came to get back to the hotel. Hope I made this clear enough!

Reviewed By Rick SI spent one night here with my daughter. You can blame it on Covid-19, if you wish, but absolutely nothing was open here. I booked specifically for the pool but it was closed. No restaurant, nothing to do and very unhelpful staff, if you could find them. They couldn’t even provide toilet paper for my room and when I called reception, no answer. No breakfast provided. Gave us rooms with the worst possible view even though we were the only guests staying that night. I understand the economy is in doldrums and business is very slow. I understand tourists are few and far between. But for those of us who are trying to support this industry and these businesses, why can’t they be more accommodating and supportive rather than indifferent and lazy? There are much better options in Chiang Khong than this faded pearl.

A Very Dissapointing Nights Stay - We Expected MORE for the $$'s Paid!!! :(

Got to the Room and the Wife noticed Hairs on all of the Bedding - PLUS Human bodily fluid Stains... Reception got them changed quickly but the 1st Impression was of a Hotel NOT in control of procedures and no Management of Housemaids.... The room was renovated but now due for Renovation once again. The Toilet 'Wobbled' and the Shower Rail did not Lock the SHower Head at your desired height. Breakfast was very poor - not many choices of anything - we really expected more and would NOT return to this hotel. We will keep returning to our favourite hotel in Chiang Khong - Chiangkhong Teak Garden Hotel

Reviewed By andrewk091This hotel was great, especially considering the price. The room was spacious, clean, and had a balcony. It is a bit of a walk from restaurants (at least the ones that were open at night), but nothing too inconvenient. The owner/host was amazing! He was super friendly and helped out with everything from some Lao translations to helping us when we had an issue with our river cruise. The food provided was nice as well. We wish we had stayed another day to enjoy the view and chat with the owner. Definitely recommend.

Reviewed By kazia66Chiang Khong was our last stop before crossing to Laos and all we wanted was a bed for the night. Sleeping Well was about 15 minutes walk from where the bus dropped us from Chiang Rai. Chiang Khong is not a big place, pretty much one street so you can walk the length of it in 20 minutes or so. We paid just over £20 for a double bed. We had to climb 2 flights of stairs to our room with all the luggage on our backs. That's fine with us but it may be worth checking if they have a lift in case you are not comfortable with that. The room was really nice and bright, pretty firm bed but we didn't mind it. The bathroom was more of a wet room but again it was fine with us. The breakfast wasn't included in the price but they have a restaurant if you do want breakfast, it opens at 7 am and we got eggs and bagel plus coffee.

Great stay in wooden hut
Reviewed By cavassssinNamkhong resort is such a nice place, located next to the main road but quiet and peaceful atmospheres all-over the property. The room was really comfortable, completely made out of wood, big spaces and good patio. Toilets here were shared, clean and numerous. Just behind the wooden huts you will find a big swimming pool, that time was clean and just perfect!
