Comfortable with kindness

This was an unexpected visit as I only wanted to get away from my not so nice husband for a few days ( everything is OK, he got the message! ) . I stayed for 3 days and will always remember the kindness which was extended to me, especially from Tanya at the front desk ( nobody knew my circumstances) . I had a hard time trying to figure out the app for the washing machine and Tanya took the time to personally do it for me. She was so nice! My room was immaculate and comfortable. Everything I needed was right there. Hopefully I won’t need to stay again ( I only live 1 town away in Marlton) , but if I do it certainly will be my home away from home! { thank you again Tanya , your kindness and sweetness was appreciated! at a time when I needed it }

This hotel is oddly situated logistically. It’s located in on a wired turn off on a busy highway in an area undergoing a ton of construction. You can see it, but the signage is so awful you have to go in circles to get to it. That being said, it’s huge- so great for weddings, events and all kind of sports gatherings. All of which we’re going on during my Saturday night stay. Believe me, if it wasn’t for work I would not have stayed on a Saturday night. The staff was overwhelmed. At both the front desk where it took 15+ minutes to check in (being second in line) to the restaurant where the wait for food was 45 minutes plus. The front desk was out of water for Diamond members so… It would seem the hotel management realized there were many, many bookings, yet there was one front desk clerk and three bartenders/ waitstaff in the fully packed Embers restaurant. I watched one woman beg to pay her check for 20 minutes before the staff could figure out who had her check and watched another couple wait for 25 minutes to pickup food after they had received a call that their order was ready. I would have been ok with it but restaurant staff wasn’t really acknowledging patrons so everyone had to repeat themselves over and over. Let’s get to the rooms- large enough, clean enough but horribly dark and super dated. No hotel, restaurant or WiFi info in the room. Unlike most Hiltons, you need a WiFi access code to login. That would have been good info at check in or with the key cards or list on the digital keycard,etc. NOPE! Called down to the front desk to request the code but apparently they were too busy to answer. I had to go down to get it. Thanks goodness the lovely concierge wasn’t busy because the one front desk clerk was way backed up. I would have ordered room service but with no menu that wasn’t possible. My handicap bathroom had no light in the shower. Even with the two dingy bathroom lights on, once the shower curtain was drawn the shower was dark as all get out. The refrigerator wasn’t working and the coffee pot was placed in an area with no plug. Looked behind the fridge to plug in said pot and found a tangle of wires with a cable outlet half pulled out of the wall. And then there were the toilet ghosts. Never have I ever heard such a sound from a toilet. It was as if the ghost of all previous bowel movements reared up at once with every flush. The moaned for minutes on end with each flick of the handle. And apparently they are not happy. It’s such a loud squealing, I fear it was a message from beyond. I recorded it as I’m sure there’s a meaning here I’m not grasping and I fear for myself and future guests if these spirits are left unchecked. I find it impossible to believe the cleaning staff thought this was normal and walked out of the room but apparently that is the case. But wait…don’t buy yet. The shower saga. I went to take a shower but no hot water. Let it run. Checked the sink tap. Yup, hot water in the sink. Let the shower run some more and some more. Mind you I was using my phones flashlight in the shower to see if I was turning something wrong due to the darkness. 10 minutes running- no hot water. Called for maintenance. Maintenance guy came in, noted how dark the shower was, flicked on his flashlight and monkeyed around for 10 minutes. Then said he got it a little warmer and had me check. No, lukewarm is not hot. More monkeying around and he said without a part replacement it was the best he could do. Ok then. I have a meeting so I’ll have to deal with lukewarm. By this time it’s 10:35. Call down to the desk to tell them I’ll need a bit past 11 checkout so I can shower. She told me NO! Can’t think of any reason to recommend this hotel!

Decent, reasonable clean rooms and good house service everyday. Nice front desk staffs. Don't expect a perfect noise-less night if you get one of the rooms on the left side wing. They confirm a room but may give you a different (downgraded) room. Breakfast and internet is not good, but manageable.

Horrible place

Reviewed By debbiewS198EH

We stayed here for one night. Any longer would have been unbearable. The room was smelly and filthy. We had to clean the entire room and febrezed the place to make it tolerable. The shower had someone else’s hair in it which was more than disgusting. The elevator was filthy and sketchy. The furniture in the lobby is worn and the pleather is cracked. At the reception desks you are being recorded as it flashes across the monitor. There appeared to be some “working girls” staying there (based in attire). They advertise breakfast included. This consists of coffee, instant hot chocolate, and instant oatmeal. I would avoid this place at all cost.
