The former home of three of America's founding fathers, and the current home of the University of Virginia, the city of Charlottesville, Virginia is suffused with an appreciation of history and intellectual vigor. Take a tour of the university campus and walk through grassy malls and grand buildings designed by Thomas Jefferson, or peak into the dorm room once occupied by Edgar Allen Poe. The great homes of America's early presidents, Monroe, Jefferson and Madison, are also open to the public.

200 South Street Inn, centrally located near Thomas Jefferson's Monticello and the University of Virginia, offers southern elegance in Charlottesville's lively historic downtown district two blocks from the Downtown Mall. With sixty restaurants in the immediate vicinity you can't get better convenience. As a Bed and Breakfast, the Inn combines a relaxing, comfortable atmosphere with all the conveniences of an elegant hotel. A stay with us includes homemade cookies upon arrival, wine and artisan cheeses served in the evenings as well as a full breakfast served each morning with fresh baked goods and fresh juices. Rooms feature antique furnishings, fireplaces, private baths, some with whirlpool tubs, and a view of Downtown Charlottesville.
Had a great solo trip to C’ville and was extremely happy with my choice of 200 South Street Inn. My room, #6 was spacious and comfortable. There was a gas fire place which i didn’t use and and narrow but large bathroom. Hollis, Chris and the rest of the staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Full of great suggestions on where to go and what to do. Located on a quiet street but incredibly close to anything you want. Great continental breakfast with local baked goods, homemade granola and locally roasted coffee. There was also yogurt and fresh fruit. Also the wine and cheese spread on the evenings was enjoyable and another chance to mingle with the other guests. Always a full bowl of fruit on the hall table and fresh baked cookies at the front desk. I will be returning again. You may notice the train does run directly behind the Inn. This was a concern that proved unfounded. The Inn has a well laid out peaceful patio with a tall screening wall. The building is well constructed and maintained. No creaking or shaking. I was on the 1st floor by the stairs and entrance and it felt quiet and private. Don’t let the lure of the downtown mall keep you from trying out the nearby delicious venues of Bang!, Paradox Bakery and Sultan Kabob. Check out the farm market just down the street on Saturday morning as well.

Good beds, good breakfast. Horrible wifi connection, kept dropping off and not allowing back on without at least ½ hour worth of efforts. Every time. Even the manager at the front desk had to spend ½ hour to get me signed in. Then it happened again, over and over. And again. And again. Extremely frustrating as we had some things to research. No housekeeping as is the norm these days but picking up the trash would have been nice, especially for a 3 day stay. A woman at the front desk was quite rude after we asked for keys since ours wouldn’t open our room on our third day (the 3rd set of keys.) She literally threw the key cover to me. Aaaaggghhh! I will never return there.

Everything was great from the gift bag (containing info on the graduation, a hard bound book about Cville, snacks, masks and hand sanitizer), to the staff who were very friendly and helpful. Especially appreciated the morning front desk staff, Pam and Ronelia, who went above and beyond to help out with an impromptu family gathering on their terrace and were extremely kind and gracious. We enjoyed the pool,(once we got accustomed to the 84 degree temp), rooms were clean, bed comfortable and the breakfast was good. If ever in Cville, would stay again.

We just can't say enough about the Foxfield Inn. The owner, Brigitte, is warm and welcoming. The rooms are beautifully appointed and immaculate. The highlight of our stay was the delicious and elegant 3 to 4 course breakfast Brigitte and her staff served every morning - absolutely the best B&B breakfasts we've ever had. We highly recommend the Foxfield Inn if you're visiting the Charlottesville, VA area. It was certainly worth a nine hour drive from CT!

This hotel is a tired property in a good location. Needs a renovation. Live tick in bathroom. Why a hotel allows pets in ANY hotel room is beyond me! Check-in was slow. Staff was pleasant. Beds/pillows comfortable. Carpet old.

Hostess used the F word as we were checking in. Dirty, stained mattresses in front of the hotel when we checked in. Lost power, only had flickering lights our last evening, no air, no compensation bc it was a power outage. GM would not come out and talk to us the next morning. Would NEVER GO BACK.

Stopped for one night. Hotel staff are very nice. We had 2 queen beds and room was very small. Would not recommend for more than 2 people. Bathroom is right next to the one bed with a barn door. I noticed the barn door needed updated as the wood was torn off the bottom corner. Shower faucet was loose. Desk was right in front of one bed. Very hard to sit in the chair as it was up against the bed. Breakfast was good. Had a great variety of items to choose from.
