We choose this hotel as it is so beautiful to walk by. Finally we booked for a night. Really a great place, but needs a couple of tweaks. I think the management, who seem very nice, are trying to work things out in an almost post-Covid environment. The rooms are clean, area has many gel dispensers. All staff have masks. The littler items that make it 4 rather than 5 star are: pool was not quite up to snuff. Needs a bit more effort to return to crystal blue water. The art gallery was not available, but they were between artists. There were no pictures in the large suite we had. Not a big deal, but odd. The room was fantastic with a view directly out to the lake. The bathroom very large, high ceilings, and a huge copper tub and enormous shower. I couldn’t quite get the AC to work consistently, but it was ok. The margaritas at the poolside bar were some of the best we have had anywhere. All in all a great stay. Treat yourself to a wonderful overnight in this historic hotel!

The security guard was unwelcoming in a demanding manner Should’ve turned around and left Front Desk same , we booked a room for my wife and I We were given a room with 2 small beds They said we have to pay $200 pesos more for a bed for both of us ( incredible? True ) The rooms have very little airflow you feel you don’t have enough air to breathe The pilllows were hard ( today i have a sore neck ) The TV in the room is a 19 inch You feel like you’re in a university dorm room The staff in the breakfast area Were great! This would not be in the top 10 picks if you come here

I love this hotel. I have stayed 2 times. Once in Jan 2021 and just this last Jan 28-Feb 2. The hotel is charming, immaculate and well taken care of. They also include a very good breakfast. The staff are helpful and accommodating and very kind as well. I also love the location with it being a 1 minute walk to the malacon and beautiful Lake Chapala. I visit my friend every year who is a snowbird in Chapala so I look forward to staying at this hotel for many years to come.

Enjoyed a delightful day at the Rancho San Francisco then to top it off had lunch at the Hotel San Francisco. Both a real treat. The chef at the hotel is an artist. Here is a tip, check the menu out first thing, place you order, once your order is with the chef, then order your drinks, sit back with a pre-meal drink. The Hotel San Francisco in my mind is #1 in Lake Chapala, their restaurant is a 4 Star!

It's not really known by the local taxi drivers as Calli Aztatl, they call it "La Hache" or "El Hotel CH". Telling them that will save you trouble. The hotel is a converted private dwelling with only three rooms. It has no pool, but it does have a good-sized hot tub. The rooms are really suites, very spacious with a jacuzzi in them. They also have stall showers whose pressure is excellent. If you are handicapped or have limited mobility then I would suggest the downstairs suite "Tierra" and not the two upstairs ones "Fuego" and "Aire." There is no elevator. The staff is small but very attentive. There really isn't much of a view and unfortunately the hotel is not close to anything so you'll be using taxis quite a bit. Breakfast is included. The restaurant is surprisingly excellent and I noticed that people came from the outside to dine there. I'll review the restaurant later. A couple of things would help makes this charming place better. Bed side lamps for one and possibly a small fridge and microwave. Other than that the place is really a bargain.

Hotel toca madera, offers all its clients a lodging based on comfort and rest
This hotel seemed nice enough when we arrived and asked about vacancies. it was close to $100 US for one night which is awfully expensive. The breakfast that was included was sub par. The worst was the incessant noise from the malecon across the street. LOUD music until 3 or 4 in the morning. The sliding door wouldn't come close to closing so did little to abate the noise.
