Cape Ann, just 30 miles from Boston Logan Airport, includes four communities: Gloucester, Rockport, Essex and Manchester-by-the-Sea. The picturesque area that spans the coastline was founded by Pilgrims in 1623 who named it after England's Queen Anne. Today, it's home to fishermen and artists, merchants and writers.

One of Rockport's loveliest old homes. A fun and vibrant take on a beautiful antique colonial that combines modern amenities, historic charm and a hint of whimsy. Just a short walk down to Dock Square and the shops and galleries of Bearskin Neck and walking distance to the peaceful Old Garden Beach. Complimentary breakfast served each morning. It's the perfect place to hang your hat and explore our scenic coastal village. "Welcome to the Charm of Yesteryear" with Today's Amenities
We had an awesome stay at the bad and breakfast. The rooms were individually and very tasteful decorated. The premises were extremely clean and the self check-in worked out perfectly. The breakfast could had to be ordered the bight before and was delivered in time and complete. The apple pastry and the croissant were delicious and the fruit very fresh! i can really recommend a stay at the Sally Webster Inn!

Shea's Riverside Inn & Motel is a 20 room property comprised of the Inn and the Motel. The Inn is an 18th century colonial that was fully renovated in 2015 and given a new life as the most romantic place to stay in Essex. This 6 room Inn is open year round and has retained much of its original charm. From hardwood floors to inviting sitting areas, each room is quintessential New England. The Motel is a 14 room property that just couldn't be more delightful! Open for the spring and summer, we also welcome guests in the winter-time to 4 beautifully renovated motel rooms! Sorry Folks, we are NOT a Pet-Friendly establishement.
A beautiful lodging space on the Essex River. Well- designed property, centrally located on Cape Ann. It has motel-like rooms as well as lodging in a mid-18th century inn. Our second floor room in the Inn had a spacious deck overlooking the river, marshes and beyond. The Shea’s own restaurant sits adjacent to the property; another plus-plus. Everything is relative, right? The “4” instead of a “5” is related to the fact that I live in a rural area of Massachusetts where vehicles and people are few.

Great Inn, I would suggest asking for a room right in the main building so you can have view of the fire pit and the building. There is a great breakfast included, heated pool and employee offered to start up the fire pit at anytime! Very convenient and pet friendly!

Modern Oceanfront House and Seaside House open onto patios or balconies with sweeping views across the lawn and out to sea
First the good....The property and location is beautiful and convenient. We have stayed here for the past 4 years. Kevin is the manager and while we were there we had the heating unit go out in the room. He was quick to check it and get us into another room quickly. This was not an issue as things will break and it was handled quickly. Rooms are clean and the view is great. Now for the bad....they are having staffing issues. They do not provide daily room service. They do charge an amenities fee in addition to the cost of the room. I knew that and didn't have a problem. On their website it says the fee is for the soaps, in room coffee, breakfast, and pool usage. While we we there we ran low on toilet paper. My wife went to the front desk to get more....she was told they didn't have any they would call housekeeping. So I went over an asked if I needed to buy some while I was out and was told no housekeeping would bring some and the lady at the front desk handed me a box of tissues. We left for a few hours and when we came back still have not gotten any. Back to the lobby and a new person was working. Told her. She ran and got some for us. The other issue was breakfast. Breakfast is served from 7 to 10. Day 1 no issues. Selection of hot biscuit sandwiches, cereal, pastries, fresh fruit. Day 2 got there at 9. No hot sandwiches left and they were not making more. Ok we were a little late. Day 3 get to breakfast at 730. Hot sandwiches gone they said they ran out. Not happy so I will have a muffin with cream cheese. Container is empty so I ask if they could get some more....nope they don't have anymore cream cheese. They said the order didn't come. I am pretty sure the grocery stores in town would have some. You would think they would have sent staff for something like that. Remember they are charging the extra fee for the amenities. The lack of staff should not be the guest problem it is a corporate problem. If you charge a fee for service you should provide the service or eliminate the fee. The brag about the properties being premier properties. They need to figure out how to provide premier service. Again the manager is great but corporate needs to provide him with the tools to do the job. Newport Hotels runs the property.

It was a wonderful stay, just to sit and watch the sun go down in the evenings from our own porch, watch the sea life during the day, and hear the waves at night. It is a great location. Hope to be there again!

Very cute hotel in a peaceful location. Staff was extremely friendly and the rooms were clean and appeared to be recently updated. Pre packaged danishes, fruit, coffee and orange juice were provided in the morning. I will definitely stay here if ever back in the area.

Nestled on Front Beach along the Atlantic coast, The Cove at Rockport offers the perfect blend of New England charm and modern amenities such as self-checkin and automated access to our new clubroom lounge. Our 11 guest rooms & 2 townhomes were completely renovated in 2020. Enjoy the amazing ocean views from our sundecks or the warm sands with complimentary beach chairs.
We stayed at one of the "town homes" in May 2022. Our family of 5 was super comfortable in this space and it was so so convenient to be near the beach and in walking distance of all the sweet shops in Rockport. We would totally stay here the next time we're in Rockport. Thank you The Cove!
