You will be captivated by the timeless charm of the Grand Hôtel Cabourg, immortalized by Marcel Proust. Its spacious rooms have sea views or overlook the gardens & flowers. The restaurant faces the promenade & offers exquisite Normandy cuisine & memorable snacks. Come for a family vacation or a weekend away with your partner; the Grand Hôtel Cabourg offers you undivided attention for an unforgettable stay, whatever the time of year. (MGallery collection).
As usual I should have trusted the reviews where previous guests commented on the entirely inadequate level of service delivered at this hotel. Too bad I didn't. On March 6 I sent the hotel an e-mail asking whether it would be possible to put two beds in a room with sea view and terrace. The hotel answered on the same day: "we can foresee to install two single beds in a room with sea view and terrace". I waited until March 14, as I was checking the weather forecast daily to ensure we would not get a rainy week in Normandy. Reservation was then made online and right afterwards, to be on the safe side, I sent another e-mail to the hotel: "Hey, the reservation is in place, please think about my single beds". One day later I receive a generic e-mail from the hotel talking about check-in times and pet policy and (SURPRISE!), saying that there are no rooms with sea view / terrace and two single beds. i called the hotel because I believed (hoped) this was a standard e-mail that did not take into consideration the personalised e-mail exchange I had had with the hotel prior to making the reservation. How naive I was! No, they had lied to me, they cannot "instal two single beds in a room with seaview / terrace" for EUR 600 a night. The person at the phone tried to assure me that the bed in the room was large enough for me an my 24-year old son. This is really funny. Should the dog also sleep with us in the big bed? Thank you, but for a total price of EUR 3,000 for a five-day stay we can for sure get two beds elsewhere. Reservation immediately cancelled.

Hotel offering 82 rooms and situated near the city centre and leisure centres. The Mercure Cabourg Hippodrome is a modern, comfortable and quiet hotel with rooms refurbished in a warm and welcoming style. The hotel features a restaurant, a bar and 6 modular meeting rooms. Rooms for persons with limited mobility, a indoor heated pool, a hamman, sauna and fitness area are also available for our guests.
Stayed at the Hotel for 3 nights... had a balcony room with Breakfast included. Very clean, modern Hotel.. very relaxing, excellent, very friendly and helpful staff. Good quality buffet breakfast and an excellent pool with saunas and hammam. To have had an evening‘restaurant’ or light snack arrangement would have been a big plus, but not really that important as there were plenty of excellent restaurants available in Cabourg, which was walkable in c 20 minutes. Hope to return soon...

So, after having been cooped up for over a year and a half, as so many of us have been because of the horrific pandemic, my husband and I desperately needed a break, but didn’t want to travel far. We chose to return to Les Bains de Cabourg, a short two hour drive from the outskirts of Paris where we live. It was our second stay together, my third, as when my boys and husband decided to go to Spa to see a F1 race a few years ago, I told the girls (my most lovely daughters in law) that we were going to a spa, and we had an extraordinary weekend! Hotel has put in place strict measures to insure everyone’s safety. Hand sanitizer is available everywhere, and masks are required in all public spaces, except the pool. We felt very safe. Every room has a balcony, and we’ve only stayed in lateral sea view rooms that provide an absolutely fabulous sea panorama. Our breakfast was included, and was the usual wonderful buffet with a wide array of choice. My only negative comment, the eggs were scrambled to perfection, but could have been warmer. All staff were absolutely wonderful, a shame to have to guess their smiles behind the masks, but I know they were smiling. Overall, a wonderful and so needed break. On the down side, the hotel is a bit far from the town center, so evening meals were by default in the hotel restaurant, Le Poisson d’Argent. I’ll write a separate review.

The Villa Les Mots Passants in Cabourg is ideally located on the Caen-Deauville road, not far from the Auge region and the Normandy landing beaches. Our villa is nestled between two beautiful gardens in the town centre through which a short walk along the Avenue de la mer will take you straight to the beach. Come and enjoy a moment of peace and comfort in one of our deluxe or classic rooms, whose decor have been inspired by prominent Normandy writers such as Proust, Flaubert and Maupassant. The Villa also offers theme stays such as a "Romantic Evening" or "Champagne Evening". Lastly, in the summer, you can make yourself at home in our tea room or our charming private garden and taste our madeleines and home-made cakes while delving into books written by our famous Normandy writers. Our hotel is the ideal base for exploring Cabourg and mythical places such as the grand hotel, the casino, the old-world villas and romantic beach.
Arrived late afternoon/early evening just before the desk closed for the night (7 pm). Got some good local info from the receptionist. All fine when we went up to our room. Modest, but reasonably decorated room on the first floor. Unfortunately on closer inspection the bins had not been emptied and there was a considerable amount of waste appertaining to ladies personal hygiene in the bathroom bin. The staff had left reception for the night so we could not ask for them to be emptied and new sacks inserted. I did mention this on check-out but it did not seem to warrant any response - maybe a language thing. Otherwise a satisfactory overnight stop. Fairly quiet even though it is on a main road.

In general this is a nice basic hotel. The location is fantastic as you are near shops, bars, restaurants and of course the beach. The rooms are nice but some parts could be updated (broken wardrobe etc) The staff are nice and friendly. Dogs allowed for €6 more The breakfast was basic (a bit expensive at €10) as the buffet was off limits due to Covid.

Sweet Home is located on the Cabourg beach. Two kind of accomodation are proposed: full/half/b&b in an hotel room or beach house for rent. From Sweet Home, the access to the city center is possible by foot throught the promenade along the beach.Heated swimming pool, tennis courts, free parking.
I stayed at "Sweet Home", Cabourg, in 2019. I'm a vegetarian and as far as meals were concerned, I had a miserable (and hungry!!) week. I felt they didn't acknowledge that vegetarians existed. However (fortunately) I did not go there for the food. My real issue with "Sweet Home" is over the problems I have had in obtaining a refund from them for a holiday supposed to take place in June 2020, but cancelled because of COVID restrictions, As required by French law, at the time of cancellation "Sweet Home" sent us credit notes valid for 18 months. We were not able to use these so, again in accordance with French Law, at the end of 18 months we asked for the refund of our deposits. This was at the end of November 2021. The Hotel said they would make the refunds but nothing happened. I emailed them several times and each time was promised payment within a few days, In mid February - two and a half months after the refund became due - I emailed the local tourist office who contacted the hotel. On 22 Feb of this year the Hotel promised to pay "within 10 days or so". I did not receive the payment within that timescale and the hotel did not reply to my emails, so I contacted the Tourist Office again. The Tourist Office said the hotel claimed to have made the payment on 10 March but I have still not received it. It is possible that the payment went astray, I paid the deposit initially by credit card, but the hotel decided to make the refund by the International payment system. I had not used this system before and I initially supplied an incomplete IBAN number. I would have expected the person making payments at the hotel to be familiar with the format of number required and to be able to spot this, but perhaps they did not. My Bank has told me that if the hotel did in fact make the payment and it went astray, they (the hotel) should trace and recall it. My Bank assures me this is common practice. The hotel has not replied to my requests to them to do this and has not even supplied a payment reference. They have also failed to make the refund to my friend, though they seemed willing to do this through my account for which they now hold full and complete IBAN details.. I feel the hotel has acted very badly. The many promises they made between November and 10 March which they did not keep destroyed my trust in them. Assuming they did make a payment on 10th March, their refusal to reply to me or to make any attempt to trace the payment they claim to have made is very worrying, . I am out of pocket and am not sure how to pursue my claim. To say the least "Sweet Home" appears to have been inefficient, dilatory and not to have kept to their word Assuming they made a payment 10 March, they have not followed what my Bank assures me is the accepted procedure to recover the payment . I certainly do not recommend this hotel! (Please note : since I am complaining about a holiday which did not take place I have selected an arbitrary date for the review question, "When did you travel?")

Rooms are tired and very odd. My room had an old shower, sink and dining table in it. There were also plenty of mosquitos. I got bitten 30 times in one night making my stay very uncomfortable. There were many marks on the walls and ceilings where other mosquitos had been squashed. The walls and ceiling were also paper thin. You can hear noise from all directions. Unfortunately lots of people came in late which meant we couldn't sleep for ages.

Nice courtyard but please clean furniture. Thin walls, carpeted bathroom smaller than an airline seat. Ewww. Clean sheets but tiny pillows. No air, coffee, or tissue in room. Stale smell. No attendant on duty. Minimal breakfast costing 10€ ??

This is the second time that my wife and I have visited this hotel,It is lovely. The beds and the bedrooms are great, and there is a very good in house restaurant, that serves food at a reasonable price. There is also a good choice of food. There is also a very comfortable bar. Car parking is plentiful, free and safe..Being slightly disabled what really impresses me is that most of the bedrooms appear to be on the ground floor, and the restaurant is only a few level yards away from the bedroom.Staff are also pleasant and professional.Shall certainly visit here in the future.,
