Nice but Noisy Hotel
Reviewed By Brigitte H SButzbach was a very nice surprise -- a small medieval town with a lovely square that is about a 5 minutes' walk from the hotel. As the hotel does not serve evening meals it's good to know that there are several German and Italian restaurants within a short walking distance. The hotel itself is neatly kept, with safe parking behind the building. Our room was very spacious and clean, and the beds were very comfortable. So why not a perfect score? Unfortunately the hotel is located between a busy railroad line and a busy street. If you are not bothered by noise this is not a problem; however, I found the noise from trains rumbling by all night very disturbing. Our room faced the back of the building; i.e., the railroad tracks. Presumably the rooms facing the street are more quiet at night, as traffic seemed very thin later in the evening and in early morning. There is a basket of free ear plugs on the reception counter, indicating that management realizes the noise problem.

Very Clean, Good location
Reviewed By Nancy PLove the location in the heart of Butzbach. Good parking but you will need to carry bags up a few steps. The rooms are immaculate. Breakfast is included and very good as well. Many stores, bars and restaurants all in close walking distance. Wifi was spotty and there is not 1 TV station in English but I didn't come to watch TV. There is no A/C but the windows open and it was nice and cool out. There is some construction across from the hotel and they start very early!

Just a good hotel - with some quirks
Reviewed By Reasonableguy123We booked online for a one-night stay in October 2019. We choose this hotel because of its proximity to the Autobahn. Upon arrival we had to drive around the hotel twice to find the entrance, but that was probably our own fault. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Beds were all right. The only unfortunate fact was that the restaurant in the hotel was closed - because low occupancy. Furthermore we asked for two cups of hot water -to make our own bedtime tee- which we were billed for. A bit a nuisance we felt, as we did not ask for tee bags etc. Anyway, within limits recommendable. The breakfast in the morning was excellent.

Lovely Guesthouse in Butzbach!
Reviewed By CareyPearsonMy husband and I stayed at the Wilhelmshohe Guesthouse for 4 nights in October 2017. We were travelling from Berlin to see family, and participate in the 2017 Frankfurt Marathon. Right from booking our accommodation, the team at the guesthouse have been so friendly, kind in answering our questions, and giving us truly wonderful service. On arrival, we were shown to our room, which was on the first floor, it looked towards the mountain and had lovely quiet neighbourhood views, with easy access through a side door on to the road. The room was spacious, warm, clean and modern with a new fresh feel to it. Bed linen was new and clean, the mattress comfortable and good pillows. There were extra blankets provided should we need them, but the room was comfortably warm at all times. The bathroom was a great size, and far larger than other hotels / guesthouses we have stayed in. It had a window looking out over the town with a good view, but still had privacy glass. Shower was very clean, with great water pressure! We opted for breakfast daily, and it was lovely! A good selection of cheese and meats, with freshly boiled eggs and a toaster. There were fresh juices and cereals for those who wanted, and a never ending supply of great coffee. Overall, a really lovely stay! We didn't have a car so it was a little bit of walk up the hill, but that was entirely on us! A lovely location for access into the surrounding forests and good views! We had drinks in the bar on two occasions, and the evening team was lovely with good recommendations on what to drink! We didn't sadly have any meals beyond breakfast in the restaurant, but only heard good things, and there were a couple of specials such as Burgers being advertised which looked good! We will certainly be back, and want to thank Beate and her team for an excellent stay!

A simple value-for-money hotel
Reviewed By MrsPiketThe family owned and managed hotel Zum Friedenslinde was built in 1971, renovated in 1996 and again partly renovated in 2013. It offers 12 rooms and radiates a fifties atmosphere. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in Griedel near exit 12 Butzbach of the A3 autobahn. Landhotel Zum Friedenslinde is a basic establishment. Guests can have a swim in the outside hotel pool and take a rest in the garden. Our simply furnished and decorated spacious room at the first floor had a sofa & coffee table, a table & chair, a TV, a reasonable double bed and a separate private bathroom with washbasin, toilet & shower cubicle. All was clean. Windows can be opened. Complimentary Wi-Fi Internet and free parking near the property. The hotel is serving an OK German breakfast. The hotel has a Biergarten & restaurant and offers good beer and simple yet tasty German dishes. In the evening we found the Biergarten full of locals having dinner, a good sign. We recommend this Landhotel to anyone who seeks a good night’s sleep at an acceptable price.

No Go
Reviewed By AnaedokAchtung Abzocke! Winziges Zimmer, sehr hellhörig, Zimmertür mit normalem Zimmerschloß. Das Bett ist eine Zumutung, ohne Lattenrost (5 lose Bretter) und sehr dünner Schaummatratze. Unter dem Bett ist wochenlang nicht gereinigt worden. Im Zimmer gibt es nur ein Deckenlicht, der Schalter an der Tür. Es gibt weder Handtuchhalter noch sonst eine Möglichkeit etwas hinzuhängen. Das Fenster lässt sich nicht abdunkeln, die rechte Scheibe ist zersprungen. Das "Bad" ist extrem klein, um das Waschbecken zu nutzen muss man in die Dusche steigen. Es gibt keine Möglichkeit z.B. ein Handtuch aufzuhängen, der Waschbeckenabfluß ist verstopft, der Lüfter defekt. Ablagefläche bietet einzig ein kleiner Stuhl neben dem Kleiderschrank. Hinter dem Schrank liegen noch Teile der Renovierungsarbeiten. Der Fussboden ist billigstes Laminat und unprofessionell verlegt. Die zeitgerechte Stornierung eines Übernachtungstages wurde ignoriert, auf Vermittlungsversuche mit unverschämten Unterstellungen reagiert. No go, nie wieder, für 17€ mehr gibt es 200m entfernt ein super Zimmer mit Frühstück!
