Convenient and Quiet
Reviewed By dylansmommyThis hotel was convenient to the highway yet very quiet! I was driving from Arizona to Iowa and was happy to find this hotel. Located next to a Loves Travel Center (and a Carl’s Jr.), I was able to gas and go in the morning. Even though trucks were going to the travel center all night, we never heard them. Hotel was typical Fairfield and that was nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. The bottles of water were VERY appreciated!

Reviewed By martib772Great young man at the desk. He knew how to handle my gift card (that was a plus). He directed us to a place to eat after a long day. Short stay but very pleasant! Seemed to be pretty busy on a Saturday evening.

Reviewed By jacksond726We pick on-line & stay at around 15/year, plus 2 months at a motel at Panama City Beach, FL in Jan/Feb. We choose on reviews & this place is great! Not a good looker outside, complete with cattle stockade aroma (the entire town, thank you) - but a very clean & fresh smelling room with some of the quirkiness wall decorations we've ever seen. New carpet, furniture, slate floor in bathroom area with new sink, fixtures & a wild make-up mirror/light. Quite hot water & strong shower pressure. Bed has pillow soft top, quality linen & nice pillows. Refrigerator, microwave & coffee maker. New wall lights have an outlet & USB port on both sides of the bed & above the room desk... aanndd they work with the lights on or off. Breakfast is standard fare for post COVID, but adequate. All in all low price, value & the family owners are very friendly. I would definitely stay here again!

Reviewed By staledaleMaybe I'm not grading on a curve. While the hotel and room were certainly clean and a decent value, I felt that the room was simply average. The staff were nice enough. While I would definitely stay here again, there was simply nothing special about our stay.

I've stayed with Choice Hotels for years and they have finally managed to lose my business and wouldn't recommend a Choice Hotel to anyone unless there weren't any other options at the time!

Reviewed By Mark PWe reserved three rooms. When we got there, it smelled, the lighting was poor, looked like a bad area, and no one else was staying there. I requested a refund and he wouldn't give me one. Also, I booked it thru Expedia, and they wouldn't give me a refund. All crooks.

Minimal, Very
Reviewed By bscholar1The owners were not rude to me and I've stayed with these particular owners before. I usually stayed with them at another location, so if I'd known it was the same owners here I'd have passed on it. I have made a rather long trip and really needed to rest. They did accomodate me on 1st floor since they have no elevator and I have a back problem. But that is where the good ends. First, they have a 10:30 am checkout. Few hotels do. After travel I have a hard time sleeping, so 11 am is actually hard for me. 10:30 is impossible. They gave me a room by the desk - so that kind of made me feel I had no real privacy. The room smelled strongly of antiseptic or disinfectant. I am a cancer survivor and very sensitive to chemicals, so it did make me sick. The room was also very poorly lit. Very. I felt blind. People do need to see what they are doing. The lady who checked me in also instructed me where to put my car, and I found that rather concerning as well. I usually put it where I feel comfortable. The 10:30 checkout and lack of lighting were the worst for me. I worried so much about not making the 10:30 checkout that I could not sleep at all, and had a miserable night. While the owners may be trying to cut costs and its understandable in these days they still need to make an environment that is safe and relaxing for guests. What was also odd, is that Booking.com did not give me a link to review them at all. And they always do. (I find that strange). I just didn't feel safe and wondered what kind of strong chemicals I was exposed to, plus worried so much about the check out. Oh and the room had no telephone.
