Short notice booking due to cancelled ferries so great to have it. The room worked out great because we had lots of wet gear and a blow heater, it had rained persistently all day. We had a few drinks & then breakfast the next morning. Staff are top class but the rooms need a refurb.

Broadford Youth Hostel is located close to the main road on the Isle of Skye. The youth hostel has an unrivalled coastal setting with views over Broadford Bay, while offering a central location with good public transport connections with amenities such as shops and restaurants all within walking distance. This makes Broadford Youth Hostel an ideal base for exploring the Island. The youth hostel offers excellent budget accommodation for individuals and groups. It is well equipped for all hostellers with a bike shed, laundry and drying room, small shop on site, internet access and Wi-Fi available. The fantastic self-catering kitchen and communal areas offer beautiful views over Broadford Bay and our helpful staff have lots of local information. Wi-Fi during your stay: We do our best to deliver a free Wi-Fi service but apologise that connectivity, particularly in our rural locations, can be intermittent due to the level of our current broadband provision along with high usage when the youth hostel is busy. Please be assured we are endeavouring to improve where we can. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

Self-Catering Accommodation in Broadford, Skye
The lodge was lovely and modern with all the amenities you could need whether you are staying for 1 night or 1 week. Everything was clean with a lovely bathroom and ensuite to use. The view was lovely from the room. Would definitely stay again ?

There were too many deficiencies at the House of Juniper to classify it as "Luxury Accommodations ". The room was cramped and didn't accommodate our luggage. We had to unpack our suit cases from the floor where we could find the only space to place them. The only place available was under the windows preventing easy access to operate the windows and window coverings. The spa was the only feature to exceed our expectations. There were no facial tissues or face cloths. The pillows were too hard. The only person we encountered from the guest house was neither friendly or helpful. He acted like he was doing us a favor when he gave me the room key. The breakfast only included a basket. There was no option to specify the selections or time of delivery. The basket was p[laced on the floor by our door after 8:30 AM. Housekeeping was not included during our 2 night stay. Neither ice nor a refrigerator was available. Although the room was very clean and modern it was not configured for efficiency or comfort. The window coverings did not block sufficient light from early sunrises.

I found the fact it was above a funeral parlour entertaining. We wondered how many bodies there were downstairs! That aside, it really is not the place for a good night's sleep. The bed creaked loudly at the slightest movement, the walls were so thin we could hear the beds in the room next door creaking as well as conversations. The incessant and loud crunch and boof of the firedoors and echoey footsteps from all dorections went on late into the night and we could somehow even hear people urinating while lying in our bed. The sink was clogged with hair and grime. All this would be fine (I have stayed inany different places.. accidentally stayed in a brothel in Thailand once but still got a good night's sleep!) but at £69 for a double room... It's not a price that matches the quality. They have a captive market... so they abuse this. So not good value for a double room.. But maybe great as a cheap option in a dorm if you're a heavy sleeper. The staff are friendly, the bedding was clean and the location close to local amenities.

Booked one night, decent enough welcome on arrival. On entering the room, the overwhelming heat hit us. An oil heater AND wall heater were both on. Turned off the oil heater but the controls were removed on the wall heater so couldn't turn it down or off. There was a sink in the room but the so called en suite was a shower and toilet in a cupboard. The door was a bi-fold wardrobe door so affording absolutely NO privacy!! The heat in the room meant had to have the window open for fresh air but that meant the road noise was then an issue. The ceiling was badly cracked and the fun began with the people upstairs walking around and it felt like the ceiling was coming in. The walls and ceiling are paper thin so every noise amplified, especially their bathroom visit at 3am where every drop was heard. After an awful night, I hoped a good shower would help - this is where it wasn't funny. The shower was either freezing or scalding, without changing the temperature dial and that was the water that wasn't pouring out of the shower unit and not getting as far as the shower hose. The hairdryer that was provided couldn't be plugged in anywhere near the one small mirror to make it any use. The bed was comfortable and breakfast good, having avoided the broken floor as we sat down - still wouldn't say it was worth the £90 we paid.
