Spent 3 night in Cafe de la Promenade in September and can’t praise it enough. Great hosts, great accommodation, great wine and food and great dog, Mia. Thank you Nora for lovely gift. We will remember our lovely time there when we drink it. Thank you Sam for great food. We highly recommend it. Martin & Bridget, West Cork, Ireland

Don’t search for this on street view, you will be confused. This little enclave of a communal kitchen (open all the time so you can make tea/coffee or eat you own food) , and the bedrooms are all located in a lovely walled garden. It is accessed with parking to the rear a few steps away from the lockable side gate entrance. Dominique Haubois the host is charming, he will get there every morning and set out a lovely French breakfast with varying delights fresh from the patisserie. If he is busy lovely Charlotte will be there to set it out. We stayed in the garden room and stayed 10 days. It is clean comfortable and well equipped. We had been to the Loire valley before but only a brief visit so wanted to explore the region. Bourgueil is a great little town with everything and Dominique’s B & B is perfectly placed with a 1 minute negotiation of a couple of short alleys you are in the heart of the town. Market day is on Saturday and Tuesday. Typically French with great local produce it is lovely to explore and there is a residents fridge freezer at the B & B for all to use. If you want a hyper market there is one conveniently just outside the town. We wanted to go further afield and spent days visiting Tours and Saumur being located equal distance from both and various other interesting locations in between. Gardens, Chateaux’s, Abbeys, there is plenty within a short drive. Dominique will give you directions, he speaks good English. Wine - there is several winery’s close by and again Dominique can put you in touch with a very good ex pat who knows everything about the area and it’s wine, so interesting and we came back with some lovely local wines. Food - linked to the wine because I wouldn’t want to eat without some and therefore driving was out!! So within a few minutes walking distance there are several lovely restaurants, Dominique will point out on a town map. None more than 5 mins walk. The town is rich with every type you may want, Italian, fast food, and several quality French cuisines, our favourite was Pappillon a small family run restaurant where we chose different each time we visited and were absolutely delighted every visit. They don’t speak English so it was a laugh explaining the food with our limited pigeon French... We couldn’t recommend this B&B highly enough, it’s not luxurious, or flash it is French Convenient Clean Well Attributed and extremely friendly. Bon Vacance
