Closed for renovation in 2018 There are 41 rooms all in all at Halltorps Gästgiveri. 25 of those are guest rooms named after and designed to assemble different Swedish provinces. In addition there are beautiful guest rooms in the old mansion, modernized but still in the turn-of-the-century style. Six of the rooms, among those the two bridal suites, are maisonettes with a sitting-room on the ground floor and a spacious bedroom upstairs. All our rooms have a shower, WC, telephone, radio & satellite TV, wireless internet and each is unique. All rooms are non smoking.Dining rooms seating up to 110 persons Large bar- & lounge area Wine cellar Sun terrace with a magnificent view over Kalmarsund Recreational facility with two saunas and a cool well Three conference rooms Five open fireplaces Excellent parking spaces Open year round.Very welcome to the good experience in the heart of different Oland.
We waited long time to check in, as the receptionist was dealing with issues with other guests. Hallway and the hotel room, some part of the restaurant were dusty because it has been under renovation. Personal were nice but seemed stressed and not chaotic. It made us sad to see the restaurant selling ice cream for kids which look like “ Mexcan man” and “ Chinese man” In their own ice cream shop. I have never seen or felt anything like this disrespect in Sweden. Overall unsatisfied and they do not react to the feedback.

We were staying for couple of days. The place is general ok and perhaps due to the low season being now. However the price more or less being for a quality you don’t get. Pizza place in the facility is great and offers topp quality pizza. We didnt try the restaurant except the breakfast which was ok but not great. We didn’t try the activities as golf, mountain bike etc as the weather was rough. Spa facilities and gym are available for those who like to try out but we didn’t thought to be worth the money. Cleanness of the apartment floors are low standard but ok. The apartment we were staying at had a bad smell in general which should be amended. The space were more than satisfactory and the beds comfortable. The view was also very good and over the golf course area. It is a shame that it is not offered and good TV channels and the wifi connection come and goes.. The staff are friendly but seems like not getting proper introduction to the work as we received different information from them ,,,which costed us both time and also missing stuff which we had planned for during our short stay. Also no excuse or anything else in return was offered. When we

excellent accommodation, comfortable, pleasant service and a great place to stay. I would visit again and the breakfast was excellent as well. Five stars in my book. Well placed in the middle of town, all facilities are close by and it is a good place to be based in Öland. Car parking in on street around the corner (20 meters).

A warm friendly welcome into the Villa Ingrid. Visitors to Öland will find a nice and cosy guest residence here, peacefully situated yet only a few minutes stroll away from the restaurants, the marina, the beaches and everything else that Borgholm can offer. The house, which was built at the beginning of the 1930s, holds 18 rooms with 1 to 4 beds and a family apartment with 5 beds. 13 of the rooms have ensuite facilities with showers/WC. All rooms have TV. Residents have also access to spacious lounges and a large and beautiful garden. You have internet access.
OK place, so nothing much to say. The garden - a dream, the house - right out of pippi long stockings. Bit noisy and creaky as old houses are. Perhaps our expectations were too high, too. Good to go if you love old wooden houses!

This hotel is located in an area with a history dating back to the Middle Ages. During the 16th century King Gustav Vasa established a number of “King’s Farms” all over Sweden, the idea being to improve the food supply throughout the country. The farm on this part of Öland became an example for the farmers living and working there. During the 17th and 18th centuries the entire island became one large royal hunting ground. The numerous dry stone walls constructed to keep the game from encroaching on farmland are still visible all over the island today. The hotel, approached through an avenue of birches, has beautiful gardens. There is a fountain, ancient mulberry trees and an apple orchard. Upstairs there are several rooms for guests, a library, and a salon with a piano and a fabulous view over to the Kalmar Sound. We were placed in a large, double-storey annex, which disappointingly had no wifi. Excellent buffet breakfast daily.

Strand Hotel has old ancestries. The first part of the hotel was built at the same place in year 1900. Wealthy people came to Borgholm to enjoy the pleasant climate. Strands present activity is based on a mixture, during the summer we are the metropol of south Sweden with live performance, popular bars and one of the coolest night clubs in Sweden! The remaining part of the year we focus on conference activities and weekend arrangement.
We had a good stay at the hotel. In short, we got what we paid for, nothing more, nothing less. This is the typical “lagom” or good enough experience you would get at a typical Swedish hotel. The room is nice, clean, with updated Scandinavian design interior. We got a suite with sea view which came with an almost full kitchen with fridge and freezer, stove, and dishwasher. The beds were ok (again, nice enough). The TV was a little small for the room but it worked. Breakfast was quite decent, so as food at the restaurant for dinner. Staff was very nice, friendly, and helpful. The pool was quite nice and long enough for lap swim. The sauna room was decent and got hot. The location was quite good. The hotel was within 30 mins walking distances of all the attractions in Borgholm. Also the sunset view was memorable and amazing. There is a really nice bike rental shop on the hotel premise that we highly recommend.

After driving from Stockholm, it was good to make it to Oland for the night. I booked this room at home in Sydney, based on price and other reviews. The entrance was communal but we had a lock on the bedroom door.To access the bathroom you had to go back into the hall - about five steps away. The supermarket was a five minute walk from the Villa. I liked the quiet and being able to cook something for a change. Will go back again if Roxette play at Borgholm Slott...

We had a perfectly lovely stay. Good parking, lots of corners to sit in in the garden, flowers in vases, simple but good breakfast with an added cost. The wifi works best on the first floor. Plenty of bathrooms with showers. The walk into town took about 15 minutes and was perfectly delightful.

My partner and I had a lovely stay at Guntorops last week. I'm only giving it 4 instead of 5 as it's a bit pricey. Location: Near the main road that goes on the outskirts of Borgholm but not so close you can hear the traffic. It's a 10-15 min walk into town. Room: We stayed in room 6 in the main house which is one of the biggest with two 90cm beds making a double. The view isn't great but it's quiet and comfortable. It does lack a wardrobe though strangely. The toilet and the room itself were very clean. Breakfast: Obviously not easy for a hotel to serve a buffet breakfast with covid going on but there were clear instructions not to have more than 8 in the serving room and there was hand sanitiser available. A good range of food to set you up for the day. Plenty of tables around the around swimming pool to keep the distance between couples and families. The Management: Clearly run by a family whose welcome was very nice and helpful. The father always had time to ask us how our day had been and if he could help. This makes such a difference to the stay for the traveller. Please keep it up! :-) Bikes: They have about 6 electric bikes to rent which we rented for 2 days and covered quite some distance. We made it to Sandvik up the coast, across to Kårehamn and then down to Store Rör. This is a nice addition to your stay and means you don't have to drive everywhere. Value: This is the only slight downside as the price was quite high although we visited in one of the busiest weeks and had a room in the main building but we still felt it was overprice somewhat. Overall a fantastic stay and fully recommended.
