The Possum Hideaway was perfect - everything needed to hunker down during the cold snap, and great advice for the clear day. The firewood was restocked without me asking for it, and the optional breakfast and pamper hampers were gorgeous. I'll be back! Thanks Jess, Chelsie and the team behind the scenes.

Travelling with young children in a garden suite and WIFI is restricted to make you pay for usage. The signal is weak. Even in independent cafes WiFi is free but this supposed 4 star hotel charges. Just be mindful of this before booking. Gardens and dining area are well appointed but rooms feel a bit generic, lacking in character. We were disappointed with the customer service of Matilde and her staff. Felt they wanted to be elsewhere and essentially adopted a “computer says no” approach when asked basic questions. Better to stay in local air bnb’s

Our walking group booked a number of rooms at the High Mountains Motor Inn. Peggy went above and beyond to accommodate our individual needs starting with a phone call to everyone prior to arrival. A seamless check in to clean and comfortable accommodation where everything worked well. We enjoyed the BBQ area as a group and the camp kitchen made it easy to clean up afterwards. Highly recommended especially for groups.

We stopped by on the way for lunch and went back for dinner !! The pub foods were delicious. I ordered lasagne and my boyfriend had a pot pie for lunch.. the best lasagne and pie we ever had. We went back for burgers for our dinners. I gotta say, satisfying. The area was cleaned and spacious. Sitting environment was also nice, we sat outside the back for lunch and inside for dinner as the weather turned a bit chilly. Staff were nice for both times we went in. I will go back again for those foods, if anyone ever go pass , stop for meal and you will never regret.

The garden suite has a balcony opening to a small delightful garden. The garden room and finishing very cosy and cheerful. The owners have little personal touches that you don't get in a hotel or motel. The room is more of a side apartment to the main house and has a little pantry area with microwave and coffee making facility. You come to expect coffee sachets in hotel rooms but here you have pod in of bread we have eaten. The restaurants area the area caters for wife variety. The Thai Silk restaurant serves excellent meals! The Rhododendron Garden is just down the road. We would definitely come back here in future. We have a most delightful stay.

Filthy/dirty oven hasnt been cleaned in god knows how long - stains on pillows! (Stink) stains on mattress protectors! Blankets and covers STINK! Spiders in sheets on main bed! Dust and dirt everywhere! Kerry (Manager) was RUDE! We rang to complain to booking.com and were told to call her so we did! She told us we were just after a "Free night" and if we werent happy to "GO HOME" we live 6 hours away! I rang booking.com back they called her (it was 11PM in NSW) Kerry then told booking.com to tell us to leave NOW or no refund would be given! We have 11 year old twins! but we packed everything up and left like KERRY (manager) told us to do! Kerry (manager) then assured booking to com that we would get a full refund that she would process "in the morning" 3 days later we are still waiting! and as of today still NO refund for this disgusting place! KERRY (manager) told us that she "hasnt seen inside the cabins for months!" - OMG! This CABIN 4 is dirty filthy and you do not want to go anywhere near the sheets/pillows or towels! Keys need to be collected from The Ivanhoe Hotel (Which Kerry runs) when we got there noone knew where said keys were but more then happy to take our $450! - The pub FOOD is disgusting and dripping OIL in a chicken schnitzel sandwich" not a surprise considering the state of their accommodation! The OIL mixed in with the butter on the "sandwich" and looked like mayonnaise! tasted WORSE! avid these cabins and ANYTHING to do with the Ivanhoe hotel!
