Things to do in Bijapur District

The Adil Shahi dynasty ruling from Bijapur has made many contributions to the historically rich Deccan region. Among the many awe-inspiring monuments left behind by them, the Gol Gumbaz arguably ranks first. Dominating the landscape, it looms large over the mosques, palaces, watch-towers and fortifications that give Bijapur its unique character. Karnataka Hotels Bijapur is located a short distance from the Gol Gumbaz and provides an excellent view of the monument. The small, cozy hotel has 4 double bed rooms and a restaurant to cater to its guests.
It’s a property amongst trees and greenery, it’s a small one but we’ll maintained. The rooms are big , clean and exteriors give a feeling of royalty. It is centrally located, this is KSTDC hotel! The restaurant is good. There is no Gym or Swimming Pool.

We reached the hotel early in the morning without prior booking, as our booking with OYO was not honoured by another hotel. However, the staff was very warm and cooperative. We were alloted a comfortable room and breakfast was served with very delicious coffee. The restaurant at the basement called Qaswa Hills is very good. The Biryani served there is delicious. The room was clean and the service was satifactory.

A/C and non A/C rooms are available with well furnished and LCD TVs.
A very decent hotel with good sized rooms right there at the highway on the outskirts of the city. Stayed for a night. The food was good and we were seated in a family room. There is another room where regular patrons were having drinks and food apart from two big open lawn with separate projectors beaming satellite channels mainly for local patrons to have drinks and food. The hotel staff was courteous enough to get our car parked in the compound which can accommodate max 4 cars.

In the heart of the city, lies this exquisite group of hotels containing the luxury rooms with elegant settings, multi-cuisine restaurant and the distinctive reception always ready for your warmth welcome. Bijapur, the treasure house of Islamic architecture. Hotel Pleasant Stay makes you to feel the beauty of this gorgeous city.
After reading many negative reviews, we booked this hotel, believing positive reviews. I was right. On the main road, big room, balcony, nice parking, in house bar, room service, flexible pricing. Only negative is bathroom. But they are soon upgrading it. We will again come since bar prices are cheap.

One of the worst, supposedly 3*, properties i have ever stayed in. I stayed 2 nights December-end (2019) with my family as part of a wedding-guests' group. The group, occupying 7-8 rooms, was the only occupant of the hotel. Reception: On arrival, the manager and the receptionist seemed quite clueless about the room allotment. There was no bellboy or other staff to escort us. Fortunately, we had trolley-bags and other light handbags. Room: The less said the better. Ants were having a merry time on the floor near the double-bed (see pic). There was no housekeeping staff on hand and the receptionist sent a random guy with a pesticide spray. There was no intercom in the room. We were told they were not provided in the rooms in our wing. We were given the reception phone number to be called for our requirements. When we asked to be shifted to a room with one, were told the other hotel wing had some electrical issues. So gulp it. Cable TV subscription had expired. Missing were the TV and cable remotes. Bay window leading to a small balcony was secured with just a flimsy latch which didn't feel very secure. No iron, laundry bags, room tea-coffee set provided. Washroom: Unclean, stained (see pics). Walls were spattered with spit and paan (betel-leaf) stains near the washbasin and the WC. There was no 'hot' water from the mixer, even the next morning - only very lukewarm one. Housekeeping: Almost non-existent. The guy (Prashant or Prakash) in shabby clothes who brought the requested extra mattress reeked of alcohol. The mattress is another story (see pic) - it was missing a piece of its foam. There was no one to clear the filled up wastebin during our stay. No complimentary morning newspaper given - i had to pick one up from the smallish lobby, if it could be called that. Room service: Marginally better but the staff was not in any sort of a uniform. Of course, we had asked for only bottled water and tea. Restaurants: Pathetic. Lighting, ACs were switched on only on demand. When we went for breakfast the next day, we had to open the restaurant, switch on the lights and search for the waiters. We gave up after a long wait for service.

Stay away, this place is not upto mark. I had booked thru Oyo and had not paid any advance so got lucky. We did not stay looking at the room/bathroom. Asked the person to check if there are better rooms, he said they are fully booked. Not a very good place for families.
