The staff was nice and the hotel was good in general. The hotel however is in need of a renovation and the staff was overwhelmed at dinnertime. We had a very long wait and food was not amazing. The pool was Ok but it gets a bit busy in the afternoon since the hotel is big. Our room was a three bed because we said we were coming with a toddler. It was a big room although at the time we booked it was not cheap (95€).

This house belonged to the great grandfather of the present owner. We are not sure about the year of its construction, but above the lintel of the entry in the first floor is engraved the date of 1810. The architectonic group was formed by one main building with three floors, two as dwelling-house and the ground-floor with two "lojas" for animals. This was typical of the traditional houses in this region. Besides this building, there existed a wine mill and a building where the straw was kept. The house was rebuilt maintaining its original plan and using, whenever it was possible, the same type of materials (wood and stone), combined with more up to date architectural materials and objects.
The inn and our room were both spotless and charming. We really could not ask for anything nicer. What really made us love Passado de Pedra, however, was the delightful owner/hostess. She talked to us about what we liked to see and do and then gave us fantastic advice. Some of our best memories from Portugal came from the tiny Medieval hamlets she suggested.
