This will be my second time with Badry at the White Desert. The last time was a group of 18 during November 2019. This speaks to the level and volume of trust I have in Badry for any excursion I need to do for my groups in this part of the world. What I find most remarkable about Egypt’s Sahara el Beyda (aka the White Desert) isn’t simply how unreal and beautiful its landscapes are, but the fact many of us — let alone the majority of the Western world — had no idea such a place existed until the moment we laid eyes on it in person for the very first time. For example, it’s one thing to have seen countless photos of the Great Pyramids as a child and then see them in person; like a dream come true. It’s another, however, to see something nearly as — if not more grand in scope without having any expectation of its actual existence until you’re there in person. This time without a dream or expectation to precede something just as surreal … that’s something else. It therefore humbles me to return here and re-appreciate how even if we *think* we know or have access to lists of all of the world’s “most beautiful places,” there are entire regions like the White Desert to show us that we really don’t know how much more is out there for us to discover, dream, and explore in this lifetime. If what used to be the ocean floor is now a desert of of large white chalk rock formations created through countless years of erosion by wind and sand, we are but stardust living a present miracle of bearing witness to not only a remote physical place on Earth but also a remote place in Time.

Our hotel is located very near to the White Desert. We have clean and comfortable rooms all in suites. All the rooms are within a beautiful garden, with a swimming pool and nice views. From the roof you can enjoy the sunset and the sunrise. We have a restaurant and coffee shop open 24 hours, to provide an excellent service to our guests. Soft drinks, juices, cold beer and wine are available.
The hotel is a simple but clean place with a very welcoming courtyard with beautiful trees, like the name says it’s a home and the family welcomes you. The desert safari takes you to amazing places with the help of the very knowledgable Muhammad . By the of the day really tasty banquet is cooked by the camp fire . We invite you to share in our curiosity and passion for adventure, your world may never be the same again.
I stayed here for 3 nights and I only payed 50 Egipt Pound for pr. night. The rooms was clean with clean bethclothes. Well, the water was running very slowly but I think it must because we are in the dessert, so we should not use a lot of water. The breakfast was included in the price, and it was very big. I could not eat it all. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Anette, Denmark

I had the misfortune of staying at this hotel for 2 nights, and I have to say it was dreadful. Like previous reviewers, I found the staff to be more interested in playing computer games or watching TV (in the lobby, spread out on the chairs, with volume screaming). My room, which overlooked the 'main street' was noisy, due to the location - the hotel is surrounded by mechanical repair businesses, so noisy well into the night. On the evening of the day I arrived, we headed into the nearby desert for an overnight camp, and I must say this was definitely the highlight of being in Bahariya. However, prior to hearing off I wanted a shower after the long drive - no hot water. Nor was there any hot water on either of the following 2 days/nights I stayed there. There was, however, a flooded bathroom and it was home to cockroaches. The Eygptian tourism site lauds this hotel, and mentions free wifi - not so. It's psy as you use, however after being told to wait a few minutes and then waiting around the lobby for over an hour for access while the two staff members continued their computer game and tv watching, I gave up. The hotel brochure boasts a 'swimming pool under construction'. There's a serious design flaw in this roof top pool, and I can safely say that construction will never reach completion. It also mentions a number of restaurants nearby - there's one, with a set menu that rotates every two days, chicken one day, lamb the next. This hotel is a disgusting dump, check-in at your own peril. Plus, there's no lift (the lift well doors are locked), so if you're not up to walking up flights of stairs, you're in trouble. Give it a very wide berth.
