Settled by Europeans on Native American hunting grounds, the city of Baton Rouge has grown up under the influence of English, French, Spanish, and native cultures. The city is proud of its Cajun and Creole heritage, with clubs famous for playing the blues, and streets full of restaurants serving up everything from spicy Bayou foods to Caribbean home cooking. Located on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi delta, visitors can watch the sun set over the levees or ride on a riverboat casino.

It would have been better if my first room would have been ready for guest occupancy. However that was not the case since the toilet wouldn't flush and the bed linen was dirty. Even after moving to another room the water pressure in the toilet was barely enough to flush. In addition, the rooms were extremely outdated and could use some remodeling. This was not the Embassy I've become accustomed to staying in. Lastly, along with the other issues the first room had a slight unpleasant oder to it. One of my worse experiences ever at a Hiltin property.

This is an older hotel with tons of character! Beautifully remodeled and great views of the river. Breakfast was great. Our family of 18 had a wonderful stay. Thanks Korey (front desk) for treating us like family!

Really nice property, but nothing noteworthy nearby. Weirdly limited food options: no room service, no minibar, no snacks, no dinner options. Staff is super friendly. Beds are comfy, bathrooms are clean with nice toiletries.

We loved our stay here. The dinner (I forget what they call it) was very good. I mean it isn't a 5 star restaurant or anything like that, but the food was good and the two ladies that were taking care of the room were very friendly. The choices were baked potatoes, pasta Alfredo with grilled chicken that you could add on top, mixed veggies, potato soup, nachos, spinach salad and hot dogs in case the kids didn't like the choices. It was so nice not having to get back in the car to go out to dinner after a long day's drive. I had wanted to go to Dempsey's but was too tired to go out. The front desk staff were friendly and informative. They also supply breakfast. They offered waffles, cereal, bagels, toast, sweet rolls, hash browns, eggs, sausage patty, biscuits and gravy and juices/coffee. They also had yogurt and that is one of the reasons that this only received a 4 instead of a 5. They put the yogurt containers out in a bowl. No ice, no refrigeration. There is no way that yogurt should be sitting out, unrefrigerated for any amount of time, let alone for the 3 hours that breakfast is open. The other reason that this was not a 5 was because of the pool. The way the water looked, I would not have been comfortable even sticking my foot in it. We never swim while traveling anyway, but others do. The beds were comfortable and they had a choice of firmness of pillows. The a/c was good in the bedroom part, but in the sitting room, was very warm. We didn't see any different control for that room so I guess it runs off the bedroom control. We plan on staying here on our way back home also. Will update the review if the pool looks any better.

Not much to the older parking lot, they were having patched and worked on. Hotel is next to a strip club to waste money. It is obvious, the owners have put money into the hotel and upgraded inside. It is very nice and room was clean. Ice machine worked...thank you. Filled my drinking cup every morning. WiFi was good, A/C good and room clean. I stayed there for a week, business. I would stay there again.

Don’t stay if you have children, no restaurants to take them to any they are not allowed in the pool area. Bring slippers, carpets are worn and old with a funky odor. Overall place is good under construction right now though

We loved the Doubletree! We visited for the Garth Brooks concert with our boys and our niece. Our suite was clean and comfortable for our group of 6. Sardae at the front desk was wonderful. She was friendly, helpful, and willing to give us recommendations for restaurants in the area. We will definitely stay here the next time we are in Baton Rouge.

The Hampton Inn Baton Rouge I-10 & College Drive hotel is located just off Interstate 10 in Louisiana and consists of 140 elegant rooms and three meeting facilities within an eight story high rise hotel. The hotel features wireless high-speed internet access throughout the property and a breakfast buffet which includes a variety of hot dishes. Our hotel is only four miles from the home of the LSU Fighting Tigers. We are twelve miles from the campus of the Southern University Jaguars.
We have stayed in many Hampton Inns. this one disappointed on several levels, most of them not management's fault. The one that is on staff was the hair on the shower wall. The location hard by I-10 is convenient but very noisy. The size of the room was also not adequate for two people. The bathroom was especially cramped for two older folks with stuff that needs to be spread out. We will choose a better room, or more likely a better hotel next time.
