What an advertisement for the Hospitality of the Irish. Jackie is wonderfull. We had booked our usual holiday rental but because of the lifting of Covid restrictions in August we had every member of the family looking to join us. Jackie went out of her way to facilitate us even ringing up other properties for vacancies. Lovely breakfast and home made jam to die for. Jackie, thank you again for your hospitality and assistance.

Excellent location facing St. Finian's Bay, several surfers riding the waves breaking onto a wide sand beach. Comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, basic vinyl chairs and the usual TV channels. No store in town, so the breakfast fixings - instant coffee, milk, sugar, two kinds of cereal - were much appreciated.

This is a large hostel that didn't have many guests. Maybe that's why it has applied to convert to 6 self-contained holiday apartments! It has a good kitchen and dining room and my room had the basic facilities I paid for.

Although Seaside is not extremely well-signposted from the main road, it is still easy enough to find, and is located a mere 3 min walk from a beautiful beach. The house itself is fantastic, with a Spanich/Mexican feel to it: wood and whitewashed walls throughout the interior. Even though some garden areas were still looking like a construction site, it is clear the hosts are putting a great thought into what they want it to appear when it is finished. Other parts of the garden are more homely looking and complement the house well. The room was very large and comfortable, with wooden floor and very detailed and extremely well thought-out bathroom finishing with marble tiles-like floor. Breakfast in the conservatory was a pleasure, and we had good long chats with the hosts sharing experiences and detailing the unusual animal sightings in the garden (good luck with the owl shelter!).

Nestled in the rolling hills of Kerry, in the southwest corner of Ireland by the wild Atlantic Way and the dark sky reserve in the most scenic and peaceful part of Ireland, there you will find The Old School House. A lovingly restored old school house with 7 guest rooms, this cozy inn offers you a place of refuge from the hustle of the every day world. Breakfast is served in our cosy diningroom every morning from 7;30 to 9;30 Tea and coffee is available in the lounge any time of day ,a fridge and microwave is yours to use. Our garden and conservatory are nice sunny spots to read or enjoy a glass of wine . There are 2 sandy safe beaches close by and a beach cafe and pub.
The hosts were really helpful and tried to entertain our kids. If it was up to our kids this place would get top marks as they enjoyed the back yard, the room & the games that were available but unfortunately it’s not up to them. The dining room has lots of charm, the pancakes were delicious and the room was clean. Just couldn’t give this place a higher rating due to the bathroom not being overly clean and the towels had stains on them. We asked for more towels but these were also stained. The other downside was that the booking website said kids under 12 stay free but we were charged an extra €30 for 3 kids under 6 which wasn’t ideal. They did explain it was confusing and for that room they need to charge for 5 adults and in fact the kids weren’t free as the booking site is wrong.

Very dated but good location.Slowly open your eyes and it is 1986 all over again.Needs both interior and exterior make over. As alternative try sleepibg in your car or go camping during a storm.Very poor grade accommodation for a high grade price.Heating is €2.50 an hour and the house is not insulated. It would be cheaper to go to the pub and have a brandy or two
