Nice hotel near charming lake
Reviewed By msw7This hotel is very close to the lake. We stayed here while visiting friends at Lake Balaton. The hotel also has a very pretty little pool and a decent breakfast in the morning. We did not have the dinner they offered. One of our rooms did not have air conditioning (which they did warn us about in advance) but we had a fan and luckily the nights were cooler this past week. It would have been nice if they had screens on the windows so it would be easier to leave windows open without bugs coming in. The other rooms we had did have air conditioning and was very comfortable. All in all a good place to stay while visiting this lovely lake in Hungary.

Reviewed By Veronika MThis is a great hotel, comfortable and clean. The location is perfect as it's on the shore so the lake is directly in front of you. You can sit on the sunbeds in the hotel garden and still be in the Lake in a minute if you want to. 2 free lidos are within 5 minutes walk to rent pedalos, eat and drink. There is free Wi-Fi at the lobby but not in the rooms. Overall definitely worth returning. The train Line is very near, but luckily only 2 trains per hour so it's not bad. Get a room that doesn't face the rail tracks

Reviewed By OZS969We stayed one night here in May. The room was OK. The hotel looks like we were still in the 1980s. Breakfast was fine on the terrace. The garden looked really nice. The staff was really helpful and supportive. Parking was not a problem!

Reviewed By John GWe very nearly left before staying one night here, we were staying with 2 small children and were given a small room with barely enough space to fit the travel cot and extra single bed, plus there was no air-con meaning we'd need to keep the windows open which wasn't an option due to the noisy bars directly below our window. Luckily the staff reluctantly moved us to a larger room with air-con so this was far more comfortable. The hotel is basic and generally a bit run down, the bath overflow was broken in our first room, shower fittings in the spa don't work properly and the outside pool is in a bad state of disrepair, with lots of tiles missing, the fountains appeared broken and a service hatch was left partially open - not very safe with small children around. The buffet breakfast was OK but nothing special and was the same food every day. Be aware that the train station is directly opposite the hotel and trains are both frequent and very noisy. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Lake Balaton but this had very little to do with our accommodation. The only positive this hotel has going for it is the location as it is right on the edge of the lake and very near the sailing club. However I wouldn't stay here again unless it was very cheap and there were no other options.

Reviewed By razzydMy husband and 2 children stayed at this hotel in August for 8 days, whilst looking around Balaton to purchase a property. It is truly a lovely hotel. Christina owns and runs this hotel with a small cohort of staff and it runs like clockwork. They are all helpful and very friendly. The room we had was clean, cozy and met our needs. There are lots of fun amenities i.e. pool, table tennis, climbing frame and sandy areas to entertain younger guests. The pool area is shared with a neighboring hotel and is clean and adequately sized to refresh you. Christina was kind enough to always bring drinks to the pool side, despite me waiting to take my own drink! Very friendly and hospitable. We really liked the security aspect of the hotel, that the main gate would stay locked and all residents had a key. I felt safe for my youngest child to be left alone without my constant supervision. On occasion we had left valuables in the room on display and again the safety and security element of this hotel was brilliant. The continental breakfast was simple, tasty, fresh and plentiful. The evening meal we had was delicious. It really was a sad day when we had to leave; we arrived as strangers and left as friends. We will certainly be visiting again - Easter 2018.

Pleasant stay for a family
Reviewed By lillalugosiThe hotel is well renewed, the garden and the open part of the restaurant is pleasant and worth spending time late afternoon and in the evening. It is located few minutes walk from to the lake, also from the port. The room included a balcony and air condition, it was clean and spacious, the bed was very comfortable. The staff was really kind and helpful. The hotel is a nice choice for families either.

Reviewed By SaumyanaNice appartement with well-kept garden. The rooms are nice but only some with air-con. The breakfast is is good but not ahuge variety. The wifi is weak. The staff is friendly and helpful. The appartement has a parking place of its own. It has a very good location, really close to the Balatonand the port.

Excellent time going back to the 80's
Reviewed By nyusz44We have spent a long weekend in Hotel Festival. The hotel was built in the 80's and kept the marks of that time - it was really nice to time travel. The room was big enough for two of us, had a balcony and all the rooms have a stunning view to the lake. The bed were comfortable though the room didn't have air-conditioning, so it became too warm for the night. The breakfast was delicious with many choices similar to the dinner. It was always with fruit and cakes too. The hotel staff was always nice and helpful even though they were extremely busy. The hotel has a big park around with easy access to the lake. There is a facility to play tennis as well. The building looks (and feels) old though it is cleaned and maintained properly. There is a couple of faulty thing such as the shower wasn't fixed properly but you can oversee it as everything else was really good.
