Holiday for body and soul. Enjoy your holiday to the full at the Hotel an der Therme Bad Sulza. A good hotel makes you feel comfortable and well looked after, so that you are free to enjoy all that is on offer and can look forward to each and every day anew. At the Hotel an der Therme our entire team takes the utmost care to make you feel welcome and at home, so that you can enjoy your holiday to the full from the first day of your stay to the last! But that's not all: light and friendly rooms with views looking out onto surrounding greenery, beautiful lovingly-kept gardens, restaurants with high-quality healthy cuisine, a range of blissful wellness and spa offerings, the legendary Toskana Therme next door and fair, family-friendly prices are just some of the many reasons to stay at the Hotel an der Therme Bad Sulza.
Very spartan rooms with only necessary equipment, no carpets, no information brochures, pretty used furniture, bathroom very small, shower suitable for tiny bodies only. Only german channels in TV, most of the staff speeks only German. Breakfasts would be a disappointment for those who prefer English breakfast: the only warm meal was scrambled eggs, overcooked to a rubber quality. Eggs, ham, bacon or pancakes were available only as an extra (paid) order; no beans, potatoes nor warm vegetables at all, no toaster available. The lobby bar was nice place for a calm night with a drink or two. Free wifi worked around the hotel with occasional drop-outs. The spa (therme), pools and saunas were great though. Great experience, warm mineral water, underwater music, we enjoyed it. Be ready for really salty water (it’s not easy to swim in it) and the nude zone in the sauna world (it’s usual in Germany/Austria, it's the best option to enjoy sauna, but unwarned tourists may be surprised). However, no sheets were available in sauna, no towels for hotel guests in spa (you have to go to the wellness floor to ask for one), no soap in showers(!). The hotel-spa corridor (in the 3rd floor) is a great feature, you can visit spa directly from your room just in your bathrobe. However, you'd better to bring your own towels and soap/shampoo – and you'll really need them because of the salty water. Don't expect water attractions for children, it's not an amusement park, in fact most if the guest were elder people. Expect calm, relaxing eperience rather than adrenalin and fun. Surroundings are really nice, the hotel is located in a park, there is a nice walk by the river to the spa park and the village. Be aware the hotel is on a hill while the park and village are literally DOWNtown. You can find about 4 restaurants in the village, one kebap fast-food and one or two cafes. The most we enjoyed the "Pension Am Schwanenteich", really nice place to eat.

The Hotel Resort Schloss Auerstedt is located admits the picturesque landscape of the Tuscany of the East. Surrounded by gentle hills and beautiful vineyards, this special place creates a unique atmosphere of serenity and savoir vivre. In the historic building of the restaurant “Reinhardt’s im Schloss” you savor culinary delights. Our apartments and holiday homes feature a modern interior and provide the perfect basis for your overnight. With the “Maloca” as a truly special event location, Auerstedt is a popular destination for weddings and celebrations.
We had our wedding at beautiful Schloss. We really like how meticulous everything was organized, with the general manager of the hotel being closely involved with the details of the day. When they unexpectedly ran out of wine during our dinner, the manager drove to the winery a couple towns over to pick up more wine. It was all so smooth, we did not even notice that this had happened. The location itself is beautiful and made for great wedding photos. The rooms/apartments were spacious and very comfortable. The Maloca is a really good setting for a wedding reception and party. The combination of its indoor space with the outdoor surroundings was so well done: we had a cocktail reception and shot many photos outdoors, while we had dinner inside later in the evening. The food was very delicious as well. We had lunch from the local restaurant and were quite intrigued by the local menu with seasonal variations (e.g., chanterelle mushrooms). Yum! We had food from the same restaurant for our reception/dinner and were impressed with the great taste and the flexibility to meet specific dietary needs (e.g., ensure there are great vegetarian dishes). All told, if you are looking for a place for a wedding, look no further. This is it! If you are looking for a weekend getaway, it is a lovely spot in the far North-East corner of the state of Thuringia.
