Good hotel, great setting
Reviewed By PBPGThe room was very good, with a balcony overlooking the valley and into the tree covered hills. The bed was two singles pushed together but was comfortable enough as were the pillows. Amongst the features listed for the hotel was “ “Indoor pool with outdoor meadow for sprawling in”. I had a look at the meadow, nice enough small field but even after a few beers didn’t really feel like sprawling. We did have a few beers in the bar, served by a friendly chatty barman then off to a very large well-appointed dining room that was only occupied by two others. Friendly waiter helped us through a very limited menu. Starters were a vegetarian terrine with goats cheese and pine nuts accompanied with some bread and dips. We followed this with the Maritim burger with chips, very tasty. The only thing that let it down for me was the main course was served on a slab of slate, never got into that style, much prefer a plate. We skipped dessert and finished with a coffee

Reviewed By 204corygDirty, no front desk clerk, did not receive room that was booked (they put me in a room in some sort of apartment two blocks away, I had to listen to prostitutes in next room, no parking, after writing them about the poor experience, they offered a small discount by way of a refund. I have been fighting with them for over a year to get the refund THEY promised me!! This trip was March of 2019...the selection below did not go that far back! I am tired of fighting so I figured everyone else should know what I am going through!!

Perfect and truly Friendly
Reviewed By FrankieAdkWe arrived late 6 persons en route to Paris on bicycle/ service car and was very well received by the friendly host, who arranged Pizzas and cold drinks in notime. We stayed in large and comfortable rooms on the basement and was treated with special early (6:20!) full breakfast in order to leave quickly for the next etape. Hotel 500 meters from old Town/center. Very recommendable and we will return to Discover the very beautiful old Town and stay at Friends again.

Reviewed By BobK504Hotel is located about 1 hour from the Hannover airport. It s centrally located in a quaint village and within walking distance of several old churches, town center, and many restaurants. Hotel has an attached restaurant and bar. The food is good and the beer is cold.

Rather quirky hotel
Reviewed By richarddN1394ARWe enjoyed this hotel a great deal - it's slightly different from the run-of-th-mill hotel one often finds. The furnishings/decor is a mixture of british/indian/russian - but it works. The rooms are quite stylish and facilities are good quality but the bathroom layout is rather open and maybe disconcerting for some people. Minor point: almost all the lights in the bedroom are controlled by one switch - either have them all on or all off. Staff were very pleasant. Everyone, including ourselves, seemed to be there on a special offer that included breakfast and evening meal. The evening meal was good but no real choice. Breakfast was up on the 3rd floor in a large and welcoming room but rather warm as it was under the roof. Choice was good but again, nothing exceptional - the standard international choice. Would recommend the Spirit of India which belongs to the hotel although is on the other side of the road - it's a rather bizarre cocktail bar - its name suggests the decor. Rather disorganised staff but the cocktails were good. Wouldn't recommend the underground car park - much too tight. The normal hotel car parks are perfectly fine.

Reviewed By emmessduesseldorfThe perfect hotel for me: super central, half-timbered, four old houses connected with a winter garden - but I didn't get "warm". All sockets in my room were "occupied". I had to unplug the bedside lamp to charge the smartphone. Reminded me of the movie "Leap year". Corona times are special prerequisites for traveling, but there were little things that I was missing: Missing information about check in / check out, breakfast times (they were told to me on arrival, but it is usually written somewhere again), shower head too high. But the heating worked immediately, the room was functional and very clean. The buffet solved very well: z. T. service (fresh counter, fruit salad, yogurt, cold cuts, even waffles on demand), z. T. Self-service (muesli, packaged items). Unusually many employees, all very attentive.

Reviewed By Mikeb666Very central querky small hotel. The room was a good size and exceptionally clean! The breakfast was extremely good and the choice excellent. You are also given a choice of eggs and bacon. The addition of the bag of goodies, fruit, cartoon of juice and cereal bar on checkout was a really nice touch. Unbeatable value all in! Will be back and highly recommend!
