Hadn't stayed with Bernie and Jo for some time and not since the upgrade to studio apartments. We had a really nice stay. The breakfast pack was excellent and provided everything you need and really good quality. The studio apartment was spotless, as usual. Bernie and Jo are brill and nothing too much trouble. We really should have booked for longer and will definitely be back to stay again. Thanks again for a lovely stay. Stevie and Allison

Thornsgill House is our unique and family run Edwardian house which commands a peaceful position in the village next to Askrigg Beck. We are away from the Main Street of the village but still handy for the pubs, restaurants and shops, which are all within a few minutes stroll, and we have walks in abundance straight from the door. We have 3 bright and spacious en-suite bedrooms, and a dining room for your exclusive use. You can enjoy watching the world go by from the raised south facing front garden and wrought iron veranda. Thornsgill is packed full of the original features which you would expect to find in an Edwardian house-we have several beautiful stained glass windows, a fabulous central staircase, original tiled broad entrance hall and light and spacious, high ceilinged rooms with the original cornices and picture rails. Thornsgill House is an ideal base for touring the Yorkshire Dales either by car, cycle or walking.

Luxurious B&B in the heart of the beautiful village of Askrigg, nestled itself in the outstanding scenery of Wensleydale. The building is also very famous as it was used in the very popular BBC series All Creatures Great & Small as the vets practice of James Herriot. It has recently undergone a total refurbishment to offer high end accommodation at affordable prices.
This place is amazing and the hosts were so thoughtful. Stayed for 3 nights and couldn’t ask fir a better place to stay or location. Beautiful inside, near some great walks. The local pubs were also great and enjoyed some lovely meals. Would definitely recommend.

On Saturday 21st May we held our outdoor wedding ceremony hosted by a celebrant at this stunning venue. From the outset Trish (the owner) helped us realise our dream of holding our ceremony at our most favourite place in the Dales. We have had several holidays here as a couple, whole family, business events and girlie weekends ….. it was a natural choice for us it had to be here. …… (and will continue to return ❤️) Trish and her staff went above and beyond helping us bring this event together. The gardens were beautiful and well kept and as always, the accommodation was clean, well presented and incredibly comfortable. The main house caters beautifully for restless teenagers (music, pool,tv) and in the outbuildings a cinema and games room, table tennis etc. Aside from the main social areas, i.e huge! well facilitated kitchen area and large lounge/hall with a stunning real fire setting, you can disappear into private lounges or retire to one of the beautiful bedrooms. The main house lends itself beautifully to staging events whether it’s a wedding, family get together or corporate team event and a walking holiday (we’ve had them all here) …..with generous spacious eating areas and plenty room for people to get involved with the cooking, it’s just perfect to spend time around friends and family and catch up and make memories. You’ll see from the photos, the scenery and location sets it head and shoulders apart from any other Dales venue …. You literally feel you are on top of the world on that hill, very private and secluded and you can see for miles ….. it is simply breathtaking during ALL seasons , another reason we went for an outdoor ceremony. We could not have wished for a more perfect setting for what was truly a magical day THANK YOU TEAM HILL TOP !!!!! You are amazing ?❤️?……. See you really soon ?
