Appreciated the location within walking distance of Hirosaki Castle Park. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The young lady that checked us in and the older lady that served the late-night noodles were both very kind and helpful. Strangely, the male staff members we interacted with all came across as rather nervous/standoffish/brusque as if they did not want to deal with (Japanese-speaking) foreigners. That said, we enjoyed exploring the city and the Dormy Inn is a great base for doing that. Make sure to check out the rooftop onsen (especislly in the snow) during your stay. There is a great view of Mount Iwaki as well.

Omotenashi for "The Morning Filled with Smiles" Comfortable guest rooms, a variety of facilities and fixings, specialty breakfast, and our staff's cordial Omotenashi. In order for all of our guests who stay at Daiwa Roynet Hotels to wake up in the morning with a smile, we will do our best.
Some good things here - the staff do their best, the room is clean and everything works; the breakfast is better than average for Japanese business hotels. But all of these things count for little if you can't sleep in comfort, and the bed is simply as hard as a block of concrete.

WiFi FREE
Hotel was reasonably priced with fully-functional WiFi and needed amenities in central Hachinohe. Double was under 7,000 yen, and parking optional but cheaper across street. Many dining options on main street of Hachinohe. Convenience store on 1st floor. Public bus from station about 20 minutes - 270 yen.

We stayed in the Richmond Hotel for 14-nights, averaging ¥10,000 (US$92) per night for a Hollywood Twin room (25m2 or 275 sq. ft.) over Christmas & New Year. Parking (mechanical parking, but usually only a 2-minute wait) with in-&-out privileges was ¥900 per day. The staff were just amazing. Some of the most friendly, helpful, & patient service that I have ever received anywhere in the world! Because of the new year, a lot of restaurants were fully booked or closed, but the team were very patient to help us book our party of 9 into restaurants that they could find. There was always someone at the front desk who was fluent in English. It was also a great staging point for us to head to the ski resorts. And the duck soba restaurant next door, Kaneshime Kakizaki Soba, was a frequent favourite. The Richmond Hotel was further from the train / bus station than most of the other hotels, but was still a firm favourite that delivered on all counts!

When booking was done an error was in type of room, this hotel worked hard to fix it and did. that says a lot for me. The rooms are a good size and well appointed. Staff was great throughout the stay and helpful with all needs I had arise. It is almost part of the rail station for location great.

Many waterfalls dot the 14-kilometer trail linking this resort to scenic Lake Towada. Enjoy the area's natural beauty while soaking in the inn's luxurious baths, too.
Summary: - Great experience overall near Oirase Keiryu. - Don't make the same mistake as we did. Spend a few extra thousand yen ($20 or so USD) for a "Modern" room or a Japanese-style room. Avoid the "Twin Room." If possible, ask for a room at the new East Wing. - If you don't mind bees, don't be afraid of using the apple-scented shampoo and then go to the outdoor onsen. Location: 5 stars Staff: 5 stars Service: 5 stars Breakfast: 5 stars Lounges: 5 stars Room: 3 stars (for the price compared to other rooms in the hotel) We had a wonderful stay. Everything about this hotel was perfect and just what you would expect from Hoshino. The lobby is modern and stylish, the food was beyond amazing, and the service was just excellent. The only exception was the Twin Room that we chose. The room we stayed at was located at the West Wing, which is much older than the new East Wing. The room was clean, but due to its age, I felt like I stayed at a history museum that showcased 5-star hotel rooms from the 70s. The furniture was a little worn out. There was no central air conditioning (or an AC with remote control); instead, you need to use the old machine that hid in the corner, which comes with a dial. I remember the last time I saw one of those was at a motel room in Arizona in the 90s. You need to walk to the machine and manually turn the dial every time you want to change the settings. You could also tell how old the room was by its smell. Thoughtfully, they provided a bottle of deodorizing spray. I expected the room to be a lot nicer for its $500 USD price tag. But I'm the one to blame as I didn't opt for the "Modern Room" nor one of the Japanese-style rooms. If I go back in the future, I will definitely pay $20 more for a newer room. I just didn't expect the room could be THAT old. That was the only complaint during the stay. Everything else was perfect. The apple scented shampoo smelled so good that it attracted a few bees when I went to the outdoor onsen. So I would recommend using the regular shampoo, and only use the delicious smelling apple shampoo after you're done with the outdoor onsen. They also have free rental boots that were perfect for the hike along the river. The trails could be muddy, so make sure you pick up a pair before heading out. Overall, we had a great time. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The free shuttle for the hiking trail was excellent with hourly departures. Also the 12pm checkout time worked really well for the morning hike after breakfast. I will stay here again if I visit again, but at a different room for sure.

This is probably one of the older hotels of the Route Inn chain. The design is old fashioned and the furniture start to show signs of age. But overall, the facilities are all up to standard and the room is clean and decent. There is an onsen for use by the guests. The included breakfast is more than adequate. Quite a comfortable stay. The hotel is within 2 minutes’ walk to the rail station and bus terminal and is therefore very convenient. Considering the reasonable room charge, it is excellent value for money.

Hotel
The hotel is pretty new. I got Room 1201, a double bed in a smallish, north- facing room. The view was great, and I could see to the Kabushima start of the amazingly beautiful Tanesashi coastal trail. It’s a classic Dormy Inn room, compact but well- designed to make the most of the space. The design is modern and well- executed. The sink is in the entry hall and has the mini- fridge and tea service underneath. There’s also an in- room safe. The toilet and shower room are across the entry hall from the sink. The toilet is a new model Toto washlet. Again, typical D.I., there’s a four or five gallon fresh water jug for “just in case.” There are more electrical outlets than in most hotels, and located at convenient heights, much appreciated. There’s a good in- room safe as well. The bed was very comfortable and the window opened so I didn’t use the aircon. The breakfast room is a corner room facing north and east and gets the morning sun, so it’s very bright and cheery. Breakfast is a selection of Japanese and western items, all high- quality and tasty. The onsen is excellent, again a D.I. hallmark. Located on the 13h floor and facing east and south, the views are great. There’s a sauna, a cold bath and indoor and outdoor hot baths. This one I estimate at 42C, a bit hotter than most, which I like. The changing area is nice and there are so many lockers that if they were all in use, it would be standing room only in all the baths!
