Maasai Simba Camp is in the heart of the Maasai country. The camp is 100% owned and managed by the Maasai tribe. The camp, nested in the deep acacia forest on the banks of the Kiboko River, was built by hand with a rustic charm. The camp is ideal for local safaris to Amboseli National Park and hike to Chyulu Hills. If you dreamed of walking with giraffes and zebras this is the place to realize your dream. It’s a perfect spot for people who love the outdoors. Activities include daily walking safari lead by the Maasai warriors, excursion to Amboseli National Park, meeting with Maasai elders and the women cooperative. Bookings are inclusive of full board (3 meals a day), walking safari in a pristine landscape and exclusive cultural experience with the Maasai. The camp has a 4x4 Safari vehicle with pop-up roof for easy wildlife viewing and photography. The Safari vehicle comes with additional fee. The camp sponsors a village school and health center.
Simba Camp was a beautiful experience. The camp just looks beautiful, where huts and banda's are build between all the green(trees and bushes). We slept in a beautiful Banda with shower and toilet. We were very warm welcomed by the Masaai who run the camp. The nature walks during evening and morning make for an authentic experience, seeing wild animals from short distance (such as giraffes, zebra's, gerenuk and even a puff adder!!). Another authentic experience was our dialogue with the elders (Masaai). They gave us a true insight in the Masaai culture. Moreover a trip to the Amboseli park was well arranged. And besides all these wonderful experiences we loved the relaxing atmosphere at Simba camp. Learned to play Mancala from the staff and played rummicub with them. The food was amazing with everyday another menu. We cannot wait to get back!

Kibo Safari Camp is a luxury tented camp picturesquely set within the Amboseli National Park Reserve in Kenya overlooking majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. It is less than 2km from the KWS Amboseli National Park Kimana Gate. The Camp is beautifully landscaped, incorporating an open terraced restaurant and bar under acacia trees, with a swimming pool.
I stayed here with 5 of my friends. When you arrive at reception you are blown away by how beautiful it is. The tented rooms were luxurious. The staff were so friendly. It is a 5 minute drive to the wonderful Amboseli park. Here we saw lots of elephants, hippo and lots more. Having Kilimanjaro in the background makes this camp a must. The food was buffet style. There was lots of variety and Milton made the best pizza!! A wonderful stay.

Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge was created for adventurers with an African dream. With Mount Kilimanjaro soaring majestically just beyond the golden, acacia-specked savannah, the safari lodge offers a graceful blend of stark beauty and lavish comfort in the heart of Kenya’s Amboseli National Park. Nestled in an acacia grove by a gentle mountain spring, our hotel, comprising a Maasai-inspired design, a garden restaurant and a palm-shaded swimming pool and sundeck, provides uninterrupted views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the surrounding landscape. In every detail, the ambience captures the essence of Maasai culture, warmth and indomitable spirit. The setting our Amboseli safari lodge is breathtakingly beautiful, the wildlife abundant and the cuisine, hospitality and amenities unrivalled. Mornings bring stirring views of Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped peaks. Whether embarking on a safari to see “The Big Five” (elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and rhino), planting your very own tree as part of our Re-Forestation Programme, or enjoying a bush dinner and glass of wine as the bonfire cinders waft into the indigo night, your stay will be infused with unforgettable moments. Answer the call of the wild at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge – a destination rich in undiscovered experiences.
When we got there the service from the staff was prompt and good. The ambiance was great and we got to see an elephant grazing right next to the fence. However the rooms were too small and quite packed next to each other, it was hard to get the feeling of privacy. It had a congested feel. The food was great but something in it gave me a bad case of breakouts on my face, so much that we checked out after one night. However, if you could get over those, it would be an amazing place to stay as it is right inside the Amboseli national park.

I really enjoyed this hotel. The food was good, and the staff was great for the most part. Our guide arranged for us to walk with a Maasai conservationist on staff, and that was really cool. The morning view of the mountain was stunning. We liked that we could buy and mail post cards right there, though we are going on two months since sending them and they have yet to arrive. ? The reason I am giving them a lot rating is because there was a safari guide there harassing me for attention, and when I refused to join him for a drink he got an employee of the lodge to deliver a message to my room. They went to the wrong room though, and my friend refused to answer the door. We went to reception to find it what was going on, and thankfully OUR guide happened to be there and was able to communicate with the last and the room steward who had tried to deliver the message. They made up a story about some other guide needing to get a message to their client and it was just a mistake. But the next morning there was a note for me on my breakfast table from the guy, and he made sure to stop by to tell me to call him later before he moved on with his clients. I let our guide know what happened, and he told us that the room steward was reluctant to talk before he finally made up the story, so he must have had some kind of deal with that other guy. I found it really off-putting that the employees would take part in the harassment of their guests by guides who are supposed to be professionals and then make up a lie to cover it up. The only reason I knew they were trying to cover it up is because our guide happened to be right there when we went to find out what was going on.

WOW, I had the most amazing 4 nights at We4Kenya!! From the moment I arrived, I felt like family. Wilson is incredibly generous and accommodating, and feels more like a friend than simply a host. The view of Kilimanjaro is breathtaking. The campfire under the stars at night is homey and inviting. The camp is just outside of the park amongst Maasai villages, and it is a wonderful experience to be immersed in the culture in an authentic, non-touristic way. I also did the motorcycle safari and explored the villages by bike which I really enjoyed. All in all I can’t recommend We4Kenya enough!! It will always have a special place in my heart and I can honestly say that in 8 months of backpacking in Africa, my experience at We4Kenya is one of the highlights of my trip. Thank you Wilson, Moses, Melvin, Isaiah, Rachel (and baby Max) for all of the hospitality! I can’t wait to come back again one day :)

PROS: Friendly staff, view of Mt. Kilimanjaro from the camp (if you can see it behind the clouds). Lots of options with private cabins, tented camps, or DIY camp sites. Nice facility! Amazing stars!!! CONS: The bed frame was broken so I felt like I was going to collapse through to the floor. Dark, so bring a flashlight.
