Nicknamed the "Santorini of Spain," Altea draws laid-back travelers to the Costa Blanca with its hilltop old town and pebble beaches. Navy-domed landmarks and whitewashed walls stand out against Mediterranean skies, while three marinas provide plenty of offshore opportunities.

The SH Villa Gadea Hotel enjoys a privileged location, on a platform-like enclave looking out over the Mediterranean Sea in the picturesque village of Altea. Its spacious public areas and carefully chosen decor guarantee comfort and relaxation. The hotel was opened in 2005 and is completely integrated architecturally with its surroundings, faithfully reflecting the traditional style of the nearby village of Altea, whose historical quarter is a mere 3 km from the hotel. The SH Villa Gadea Hotel offers a great choice of dining options. The Thalasso Spa Centre and Thermal Club provide almost 2,000 m² of health, beauty and wellbeing (2 thermo-leisure swimming pools with sea water, counterflow river, relaxing geysers, swan-necks, bubble seats). There are also aromatic showers, Turkish baths, Roman baths, Finnish sauna and a relaxation area.
Overall look of the hotel looked rather nice particularly the pool areas and surrounding gardens -rooms clean albeit little dated but we’re kept clean daily no problems with any of the cleanliness off the place at all it’s kept beautifully. I would not say it was a 5 star hotel and I have stayed in a few of those it’s more a 4 Breakfast was plentiful if you liked continental the hot breakfast was not hot beans cold bacon cold and I just wasn’t impressed the young girl with the glasses who was doing the omelettes was quite rude and it certainly wasn’t service with a smile I think a lot of the staff not all were not very friendly or helpful and I know from speaking to some of the other guests they felt the same maybe they could learn to be more hospitable as they work in a hospitality industry and a smile never hurt no one. The beer by the pool omg awful worst I have ever had so much better tasting on the terrace bar however grumpy male waiter ruins the ambience up there. Pool bar needs a better system so slow big ques and quite expensive some of the drinks but that doesn’t really bother me if the quality is there and the cocktails and things were nice but the beer like I said was horrible - wouldn’t of hurt either for some waiter service round pool as that happens at 5* hotels. Few evenings entertainment on and that sounded great however if you had a room over the terrace you wasn’t getting to sleep before 1am due too that but again that wasn’t a big problem I think also they need to invest in padded sunbeds they are just cheap uncomfortable rubbish - A shop would also be handy to by drinks snacks sweets for the children in the day time as no shop around you Restaurant by the pool was very nice and good quality but it’s was nothing snacky it was a full blown meal which is not always what is wanted in a afternoon in that heat Altea square was the highlight of my trip stunning place with beautiful restaurants and the most gorgeous church where my niece got married

The New Cap Negret Hotel offers you totally renovated rooms. Full equipated in a mediterranean and modern enviroment. All the rooms have balcony with side sea view, plasma TV with satellite channels, modern bathrooms with shower (bathtubs subject to availability), air conditions, air heater, free Wi-Fi, free safe box and minibar. It is perfect for its location: in front of the sea with two direct accesses to the Cap Negret beach; 10 minutes walking to the Altea seafront promenade and 15 minutes walking to the colorful old town. Altea also provides a modern sport harbor, with golf camps and many water activities.
We spent one week at the hotel. Overall it has good food, good location and good rooms. We were provided with a small infant bed which our daughter slept really well in. The rooms got cleaned very well. The cleaning was excellent. I would say that if they added a small playground area for kids and cleaned the pool a bit more it would be great. Also dinner was starting at 7:30 which with a small baby (10 months) can be challenging to keep them awake, so maybe changing that to 7, would be good. I would recommend the hotel to others and would consider visiting again for sure.

A former 18th century bakery shapes this charming family owned hotel in the heart of Altea a few meters from the commercial center and coastline. Its themed rooms offer a warm and friendly atmosphere full of small details that will make your stay unforgettable. After 8 years at the controls of Tony and Linda (founders & restorers of the hotel), Abaco is currently managed/ owned by Adelina and Thomas - hoteliers who decided to embark on this world since its start in the prestigious university "Le Roches". Place, where they met and decided to share their passion for working in luxury hotels, since then they have worked through the world. Both very versatile in their areas of expertise have based their principles on: Quality, Attention to detail & Customer Satisfaction. Their work philosophy is reflected not only in the management of the hotel and rigorous attention they devote to the rooms, but also through the personalized and attentive dedication to exceeding customer's satisfaction.
Just stayed at Hotel Abaco for multiple days at a time at the beginning and end of a 5 week holiday in Spain. With advance legwork we were able to park in the hotel's adjacent garage which holds 4 cars, so think ahead if you want to park there OR there is public parking at various points around town in which case you could drop off you luggage and then park. Cycling around the area that stretches between Altea and Alcoi to the north/northwest is tremendous and we were not the only ones to know that but probably the only cyclists staying at this hotel at the time we were there. Breakfasts are diverse, ample and fresh with very helpful staff coordinating access to the buffet during these last days of Covid restrictions. The hotel is very clean, quiet for the most part (but few towns are without the occasional loud motorcycle!) and the bedding/towels/amenities are luxurious. Everything worked seamlessly and we appreciated the restaurant recommendations. Lovely place to stay.

Lovely modern newly renovated hotel with polished concrete and Architectural touches throughout. Small but perfectly formed pool area. Could use more sunbeds at busy times but they were comfortable & the plunge pool a nice temperature . Staff were pleasant and breakfast good. The hotel is located on a quiet street halfway between the seafront and the old town. Given the gradient between both this is a huge advantage. The missing star is really to do with the price as it is an expensive albeit enjoyable option.

Hotel Tossal d’Altea is a traditional hotel and gastronomic establishment located on a 300-year-old olive oil mill in Altea. So, this historic building has been restored and it was a farmhouse and a farm of olive, almond and orange trees known as “Almàssera de Guillem”. Located just 500 meters from the popular and wonderful “Casco Antiguo” or also known as Old Town (Well of Cultural Interest as a Historic Site), this family run hotel retains the atmosphere of old time to move to the rural Altea that defends the local values and the memory of our ancestors. Therefore, we recommend you to stay in our nice and rustic rooms, taste our Mediterranean cuisine and wines at our Restaurant, take a break to observe the landscapes of the Sierra Bernia and Puig Campana, soak up the aroma of agricultural tradition, savor and smell the olive oil, relax in our natural environment, or take a walk to the “Casco Antiguo”, home of artists and bohemians…
What a wonderful hotel; staff polite, very helpful, couldn’t do enough for us and continued to be so all day even after we checked out. Hotel and grounds were immaculately clean. My room was spacious and overlooked the pool and mountains; bathroom large and very clean. Breakfast has several options and was plentiful. The pool was lovely and cleaned every day, a quiet haven. Hotel a short and pleasant walk to the old town where there are some nice places to eat in the church square.

We arrived from Dénia with bikes. Got a clean comfortable room and secure parking for the bikes. The staff was so helpful. Especially the son of the owner. Dining there was also a delight. Just on the coast. We loved it.

Great little hotel, close to the centre of Altea and the old town, which is very beautiful. The main road is a little noisy during the day, but did not spoil our stay. Delia was very friendly and welcoming. The room was small but had everything we needed and was comfortable. We thought overall the price was excellent and the hotel value for money as a excellent breakfast was included in the price. There was lots of hot water and the bathroom was fairly spacious for the size of the room. Plenty of places nearby, with a good selection of bars and restaurants. There’s some improvement work being carried out along the promenade at the moment but this did not distract from our enjoyment of the resort. There’s free parking at the station, about a 2 minute walk from the hotel, but you can stop near the hotel to unload luggage, but we didn’t find this necessary as we were only stay overnight with light bags. Would defiantly recommend this hotel.

Altea House is a typical Mediterranean building, its charming white façade as well as its interior have been recently renovated. Its original structure has been preserved and the original roof and wall beams of rough stone have been rescued as well as the olive tree trunks that adorn the cornice of its balcony. This boutique hostel has only 9 rooms, all exterior, some of them with balcony and sea

Brief stopover to see family in the area. The hostal was spotlessly clean, the staff very friendly and helpful. Very comfy bed and large bathroom with great shower. Bar/restaurant also excellent offering good reasonable choice of food. Would highly recommend. Great value !

Stylish hotel, but very poor service. Phone number not reachable. Paid for breakfast, but only available from 9.00 am. No one at reception desk. We were very disappointed. Room very nice but small. Bathroom great.
