From urban beaches to epic nightlife, Alicante offers a Mediterranean mix of action and relaxation. Add in a palm-lined esplanade snaking along the harbor and a Moorish castle looming above, and it’s one of the most dynamic spots on Spain’s sun-drenched Costa Blanca.

Arrived home from here yesterday and here’s my honest review… Lovely hotel rooms the best beds , the breakfast I couldn’t fault but the balcony let it down , soo tiny.. also the pool area was small and not in the sun for much of the day ..that’s it in a nutshell

The hotel is located next to the Postiguet Beach in front of la Marina, in Alicante and only few meters from the town hall and the city center. Spa Porta Maris by Melia has 141 Rooms and Junior Suites. All the rooms have terrace offering stunning views to the Marina or to the Mediterranean Sea. Rooms are equipped with free Internet, Flat TV, rain shower, hair-dryer, kettle and safe. Deluxe rooms also include bathrobe, slippers, coffee maker and a bottle of water. The hotel has also a swimming pool, jacuzzi, solarium, sanatorium, table tennis, bar, a restaurant serving mediterranean dishes and a Spa.
My organization used this hotel for conference delegates to stay and for dinner (conference being at EUIPO). I had a room with an incredible view. The room was nice and airy with balcony. Pity no free milk for coffee. Restaurant was pleasant with nice corner plot with lots of natural light. The food was good if not spectacular. Service excellent though disappointed not to get free late check in after staying 3 days and bringing so much business to the hotel.

The location of this hotel is great, good for getting to the old quarter, beach and Central Market and also if you are coming from the airport, there is a stop nearby. We have stayed here now for the third time. Since our last stay it has had a refurb which has brightened the place. The staff members are helpful and friendly and so it's all good. I do however have comments about the refurb and especially the room we were given - 807. My goodness, they have jammed the (very comfortable) two beds in next to each other, in a cramped space, that means you have to virtually crawl over one bed to get to the other. There is a small space to shimmy past at the bottom of the beds but you risk shouldering the TV on the wall. So this really is not great and we know that that this is an exception because other rooms are not cramped. In the bathroom - which was a good size - you risk standing on the door stopper, screwed into to the floor which I can tell you is very painful and previous occupants' toothpaste splatter is still to be seen on the (wipeable?) painted wall above the basin. Apart from this, it's all ok. but I think the hotel is not doing itself any favours offering a room like this.

The Hotel Almirante is located in front of the sea, on the well known San Juan Beach in Alicante. It offers a wide variety of facilities such as swimming pool, restaurant, snack bar and gardens among others. The rooms of the hotel stand out for their brightness, with the vast majority of private balconies overlooking the sea or the pool. The hotel also offers free high-speed Wi-Fi internet access and free parking. You will have the feeling of being in a small oasis within the city. The Pocardy Restaurant serves breakfast buffet and both meals and à la carte dinners. Access to the historic center of Alicante is easy and fast, taking approx. 15 minutes on tram.
Voff voff …. The location of this hotel is great BUT all I can remember after our stay was : - dogs and more dogs - heard every noise from the neighbor rooms (???) Did I really pay for 2 nights in a dog hotel with paper thin walls? Snoring, barking, knocking, singing - what a lovely orchestra! This hotel frustrated me because it can be such a great place to stay, but I have no desire to return.

The way I would describe this hotel is “you get what you pay for” the rooms are fairly cheap so don’t expect luxury. The rooms are tired and very dated. We booked a superior room which had a tv and small fridge if you wanted to put drinks in there. No iron or tea/coffee machine, no water or mini bar etc… no extra pillows or anything like that although I’m sure if you asked at reception they would have obliged with anything you needed. My 2 biggest issues with this hotel though, that everyone should be aware of. 1. Do not expect to get any sleep at all, ever! We were on the 9th floor and thanks to the “furniture moving olympics” which took place every night between 1am and 6am you will not get any sleep. I’m not sure if the staff clean the rooms or what during the night but my wife and I had to sleep with headphones in listening to music or podcast it was so bad. 2. The worst issue. - I’m not sure if there is a problem with the drains or the sewage but the smell was sometimes overpowering, it was raw sewage and the hallways and at some points our room stunk to high heavens! From reading other reviews here I see other guests have had similar issues. The rooms were cleaned daily and fresh towels etc… also we never had a problem with hot water or anything like that. Over bath shower with a rain shower head. For the price we paid, I’d say it is what it is. Last year we stayed at the far more superior Melia hotel not too far away but that was more expensive.

We stayed here only for one night on our trip back from Valencia. Our flight back home was from Alicante aorport. Nice hotel, good size rooms and good air condition . About 10 minute walk to the restaurants at the harbour front and approx the same to train station. Only a few minutes walk to the air shuttle bus stop (C6 line) it leave every 20 minutes and only 10-15minutes ride to the airport.

Welcome to Casa Alberola Alicante, Curio Collection by Hilton, your coastal retreat in the heart of Alicante. Beautifully set in a historic neo-classical building, our exquisite architecture draws you in and back in time to the elegance of the 1920’s with touches of velvet, intricate moldings and marble.
We stayed two nights in Casa Alberola at the end of our holiday in the Costa Blanca. The hotel was superb. We had a beautiful side sea view room, decor and cleanliness excellent, big, comfy bed and air conditioning the best and quietest we have experienced. The reception staff were all terrific, very helpful and attentive. We would definitely return.

Stayed at this hotel before first time in 2015 the hotel was ok. Although it needed a bit of TLC. Came back again 7 years later to find the place needing even more TLC the hotel needs a huge revamp now. The bathrooms shower could do with big shower heads. The pool needs new sun beds as the ones they have at the moment they are a completely pile of trash along with the sun umbrellas which they lack of and the few ones they have are mostly broken. Upstairs the pool the sunbathing area needs a good seeing to too. I won’t be put off at staying at this hotel as the staff are very friendly and the amenity ain’t far from it. We had a good time the first time and again this time too the only problem is that it needs a bit of money spend on on a few things. Apart from that we had a good stay Thank you Maya hotel

What a find in Alicante, we usually stay at the melia or port maris. This was booked for a nights stay, I arrived a bit early but was greeted with no problems and they gave me my room with two bottles water some chocolates and little bag of sweets which was lovely, room was excellent huge bed and bath with jacuzzi in which I loved. Check out used car park underneath, the staff at this hotel are fantastic and the gentlemen on reception is one of the best we’ve come across, will definitely be staying here in the future

The Eurostars Lucentum 4* has 169 rooms, all of them fully equipped, heated and air conditioned. It also has comprehensive facilities, including 6 rooms for holding all sorts of events. It is a great choice for business and pleasure trips alike.
The rooms are very dated and need renovating. The rooms are also uncomfortably hot. There is a window to open however there are extensive building works going on right outside the hotel with drilling and traffic noise a constant late into the evening and from early morning. I would not recommend this hotel
