Hotel Green Plaza Karuizawa offers the finest quality accommodations, a wide range of leisure and entertainment facilities spread over a sprawling million square meters. Whether you like outdoor activities or just relaxing in a nice hot spring bath, you are sure to find everything you are looking for right here. Our Bow-Wow Village offers the perfect accommodations for those who wish to stay with their pet dogs.
I recently stayed for 2 nights with my wife and 2 children (2.5 and 5 years old). The free shuttle bus from Karuizawa station took 40 minutes and is a pleasant drive up the mountain. Check in was quick and easy, my wife is Japanese and I speak some but some staff there it seems can speak English if needed. We stayed in a duplex room which was well equipped with toys in good condition. The upstairs bedroom is pretty quiet and I slept well, especially on the 2nd night. The beds are firm but that is OK with me. Typical small unit bathroom but OK, I did use the shower one morning before breakfast which was a bit tricky to get a good temperature, however the hotel onsen public bath is very good so it's better to use that anyway, if you don't mind getting naked with other people. The only thing I would say about the room is that there is nothing to sit on in the living room part, I accept that most of the guests are probably quite used to sitting on floors but even one chair would be nice. The room had a new air conditioner and was plenty warm enough. The food was pretty good for buffet style with plenty of choice and there were 3 restaurants to choose from, dinner styles being westernish, Chinesey and Japanese, with efficient service and all-you-can-drink options. The kids fun park is a 600 meter walk away or there is a shuttle bus running back n forth every 30 minutes. The big wheel and other mechanical rides are closed through winter but there are plenty of branded toy playrooms full of things to play with and there was a small toboggan slope, snow play area, adventure maze and bouncy castle, well enough to spend happy hours with. There is also a playroom in the hotel for young children. I didn't use it this time but there is a free shuttle bus to a ski area. If you have young children they will love this place and both myself and wife thoroughly enjoyed ourselves too, so much so that I think we will go back for a long weekend in February, I think this place is good value for a family get away.

Lovely traditional hotel with great old world charm. The onsens in the hotel are definitely a plus as you can retire to your room after a session without having to endure the external elements particularly when it is snowing. Very responsive staff. As others have mentioned, the building is mainly of light structure and as such you can hear sounds from rooms around / above you. How loud it gets is luck of the draw with the other guests staying at the hotel at the same time. For us it was generally ok and the hotel experience outweighed this negative

Terrible check-in Long long line …… so slow and slow not systematic ….. it must be improved 一組のチェックインにすごい時間がかかっています。ロビーはごった返していて、感染対策が十分なようにも見受けられません。lange lange Schlange. Sie machen so kompliziert beim einchecken

We did not stay at Manza Prince , but the sister hotel. The best part of the Prince Manza Hotel was the onsen. You get high sulphuric water with a breathtaking view of the mountain in Manza Onsen region. Best visit during winter. The experience was sublime!

Hotel
Just checked in for 3 nights. I stayed in same Kyoritsu resorts in Okuhida (Miyama Ouan) and experience was amazing, so we'd decided to stay 3 nights here. This hotel is a great value. 1. Location It's off from Yubatake, center of Kusatsu town but there's a shuttle bus to center bus stop every hour. 15min nice walk. Because it's off center, this property sits on large lot and has gardens, and great mountain views. Plenty of guest parking available. This hotel shared common area with Konoha, more budget resorts. We stayed on busy pre Christmas weekends but common area was never crowded. 2. Amenities They have 2 large public baths both mens and women. One comes with large outdoor bath overlooking forests. It was beautiful and has many choices of tubs. There's also hamam kind of sauna, dry sauna on pubic bath. 3 private outdoor bath is first-come basis. Large tubs and beautiful milky hot springs were very nice. There's free coffee, water/tea machine and ice pop by the public bath. Lounge area is very large and we always found a place to sit. They also serves ramen from 10pm for free which was great (although we've never tried). There's coin laundry (which I didn't see from their web sites) was great help for tourists from US like us. There's pillows bar and Yukata (Kimono to wear throughout the stay) bar to chose what you'd like. So many choices of pillows and different types of Yukata. I don't really need Yukata as much as they've provided Samui (Kimonotop + Pants, like Japanese PJs) but selection of pillows was good idea. 3. Room Great room. We had tatami room living area, tatami bedroom with 2 single beds (which we can put together for double use) and vanity area, shower booth and bathtub on balcony. Toilet was separate with sink which was great. Has small minibar area which was very helpful. Upon checked in, there was tea aromatic fragrance was in the room and it was very nice. 4. Food We had breakfast/dinner plans. Beautiful Kaiseki for dinner and beautiful presentation, we enjoyed a lot. There are good selection of Sake, Cocktails and other alcohol. A top notch service and servers were very polite and nice. 5. Overall This resort is a new type of Onsen Ryokan with modern service/idea. They don't provide slippers but instead they'd provide socks to wear through the stay. No shoes in the Ryokan and many walk around bare feet. They don't provide fancy shampoos or amenities, or towels by the public bath but they provide a basket with towels to carry from room which totally makes sense. They don't serve dinner via room service (as it used to be old fashioned age), but they serve great Kaiseki meals in the restaurants with semi-private (cubicle) tables. Very efficient and we love this resorts. We really enjoyed this Kyoritsu resorts and looking forward to stay at another resorts soon. Highly recommended. If you don't have budget, there's an option to stay next door (connected inside, same facilities) Konoha is good choice too. *We were the only foreign tourists when we stayed. Not much Chinese guests too. Most of the guests were Japanese and English service might be limited. But it's worth challenging to stay in this cute property.

I was taken here by two Japanese friends who drove me up through the nearly impenetrable mist. Incredible scenery when you could see. The building was huge and probably hasn't changed a bit since 1974. Our room was very basic but warm and cosy. The baths are incredible. The milky water does feel wonderful on your skin and all the baths are I need wonderful wooden buildings with great views. The buffet hall felt like school camp with much better food and what an eye opener it was seeing the bus loads of senior citizens and office workers getting stuck into their niku jaga. There are many foreign staff so you should be able to cope without Japanese. You should give it a try as this is so outside the regular tourist experience. Having a morning outside bath overlooking the mountains is something you'll never forget.

We are couple. We stayed 1 night on 7/3 to 7/4 at dog friendly cottage (2Bed)with our dog. That dog run size is good. Also that room size is perfect for us. My doggy (kinda medium size) had very enjoyed this cottage because he can play and run in the room. He relaxed and he was sleeping here while we go to restaurant at this main hotel (very close, 2 min! oh, dog not allowed in the restaurant) They have small hiking course in the forest (it’s about take 40min)We tried hiking but it was evening already and we felt little scary so we couldn’t go around (next day, it was rainy..) we will try next time! We had breakfast and dinner. Both was buffet style. Everything is great! They have Japanese and American menu also chef makes roast beef and tempura. Very yummy! I had twice time each menu. Onsen was crowded by family at around 10 pm even though we chose this late time. So we returned and tried at 11:30 pm. Yes, no one there. I take a outside Onsen just only me. It was great time and I could see beautiful view with my calm time. I felt many families were staying here but we choose relax space, also we can go more calm place ( beautiful Forest, Falls, National Parks etc) so that’s why we love here! We felt comfortable and we could relaxed. Thank you guys see you next time we get back to Japan!

At Daitokan you can enjoy not only the splendor of Yubatake right before your eyes but all the wonders of Kusatsu. Yubatake is without a doubt the most iconic site in the Kusatsu hot spring district. The dynamic scenery of the steam rising up from the spring is a sight to behold, not to mention the gorgeous, mystical illumination put on after dark. A stay at Daitokan will put the splendor of Yubatake right before your eyes. We have guest rooms overlooking Yubatake, so you can relax and soak in the pleasant scenery of Yubatake and the hot spring district. Our spring water’s source is the famous Yubatake itself. Please enjoy the best of hot spring baths with spring water straight from the source.
Overall I enjoyed m stay here. However, the heating system in each room doesn’t appear to have much consistency - on the same setting it would blow out super hot air and then quite cool air intermittently. The onsen, while beautiful, is closed 0000-0100 and again 0900-1500 which was super disappointing for those cold days you want to get up early to seize the day but relax later. Staff was friendly and accommodating to me despite my lack of good Japanese language skills. Location is great. Interior hallway floors could be updated. Supposedly had a restaurant on site but I couldn’t find it; saw several rooms that appeared to be abandoned or perhaps getting updated but with no apparent recent progress.

Good budget hotel. The room is small but can sleep 4 people. The staffs will keep the table out and arrange a set of mattresses and blankets. The location may be a bit far from Yubatake but keep walking and enjoy the atmosphere on the way. The hotel has a buffet dinner and alcoholic beverages, in which food is very varied and delicious. I am very impressed. The breakfast was delicious. Onsen separates the male and female on the ground floor. Divided into indoor ponds and outdoor ponds The onsen area has convenient facilities and amenities. I like the onsen here.

Inviting yet nicely tucked away, the "Yorokobi No Yado" TAKAMATSU is just a few blocks away from YUBATAKE - the field of hot water where the hot spring water bubbles up! We offer everything you'd expect from a hot spring resort hotel - world-class hot springs in a rejuvenating atmosphere, exquisite Japanese cuisine, and unforgettable local hospitality.
This is a very large hotel very close to the town centre. This maybe the largest hotel I have stayed in in Japan. One hundred and seven rooms with plenty of facilties so you do not really get to see all the people and doesn't seem crowded. The evening meal was very good and the bath water second to none. Slept well and my body felt great the next day. One this though, it is rather old and is in serious need of renovation.
